The Lower Depths Tap Room is on Comm Ave in Kenmore Square (where Deli Haus used to be). They have $1 grilled fenway franks all the time...and some excellent beer. For an additional $1 you can get things like hot peppers, cole slaw, etc. For $1.50 extra you can get guacamole on it, which is really good...and it's homemade guac.

This one has guac and hot peppers:

This one has bacon, guac, hot peppers, and onions:

I pretty much just stick to the guac dog these days...can't beat it for $2.50.

Speaking of Hot Dogs, we recently went to one of my favorite local places the Halfway Cafe and ordered the safari dog. That sucker was by by far the biggest dog I've ever seen. And damn good. A Pearl Country Klub as long as a footlong but the proper thickness ratio...feeds two!

It's 2 am. I just discovered that Josh had the last word on 11 threads, posted in about 35 minutes around midnight.

since Baker has bakered his own "stinky" thread,I guess it's up to the rest of us to keep this sucker going:

-Mama Nals on the Seabrook rotary on Rt 1 has a very worthwhile dog.the whole place is about 20 sq. ft.

-and for sheer volume, the Richdale store in the heart of downtown Newburyport has all the dogs you want at .25 apiece...........where in h ell can you get that anymore????(the local kids live on them and they profess to have sold a million of them)

When baker is not enjoying Worcester's own Coney Island hot dogs ( George's Coney Island (http://www.coneyislandlunch.com/index.html) )
he has recommended this place:
Fred's wood-grilled dogs are frankly a local favorite - The Boston Globe (http://www.boston.com/ae/food/articles/2007/05/23/freds_wood_grilled_dogs_are_frankly_a_local_favori te/)

awwww, glad to see Sasha is still roughin it. Tom will be making his way to live with my youngest son in the hills of Oakland Ca. Just couldn't see trying to bring him to Costa Rica.
There are plenty of roof rats in my son's house to keep him occupied, and a hundred pound Samoyed / wolf hybrid to keep him humble.

Are you leaving that soon? :aargh:

I should have contacted you, we were just near Boston last week. We went to Niagara Falls, then on to Moody's Diner for pie. :nice:

Would you and The Fuzz please let know when when you're around? :p Could have arranged a great personal tour around The Falls and we live close enough to Boston to meet. ( As long as you bring Sasha ;))

Thanks Rick, I will. I didn't post anything about it because we weren't in the MINI, just the mini motorhome. ;) And Sasha always goes, she is the dash cat now.

Yeah, I should get to that place.
I saw a sweet hot dog tattoo yesterday. It was a hot dog in a bun, with wings behind it...and the banner underneath read "Lips and *******s". So perfect...and this was below t-shirt line. I know some awesome people.

Anytime you want to go Rick - The Sit 'n Bull Pub is nearby so a musical interlude post dinner is also possible ("Hello Ninja" is playing October 18th Annette! - Shouldn't that be "Herro Ninja"?).
And the Prairie Oysters are playing on Oct 26 -Maybe the bakerjc won't go...

I see you've now had Vienna, Derek. I would assume that $1.90 dog was way better than the Inman Immitation?

rknrll
Oct 6th, 2007, 04:03 AM
Yeah, the Inman immitation had problems - too many items on a not-strong-enough bun.

And don't ever call me Derek.
