: Plant Oxford Tour 19.10.2004 - Pictures & Feedback ScoobyDoo Aug 31st, 2004, 08:44 AM Good morning Guy's and Gal's :D
I've updated the first post with all the new
attendee's names. :)
There's no places left, so it's getting
pretty exciting now!!!!!!!
I've faxed BMW Oxford, the confirmation form this
morning, so in the next couple of days, I'll receive
maps, directions etc. So we can then start arranging
meeting / convoy time etc.
So now use this thread to voice your ideas etc. about
lunch stops, times etc.

TomTom with an ipaq. Its proper bo! ScoobyDoo Aug 31st, 2004, 11:17 AM Sat Nav was a bit useless for the last tour, it took Simon miles out of his way :) ScoobyDoo Aug 31st, 2004, 11:22 AM See first post for pub grub details :D:D ALD0 Aug 31st, 2004, 11:45 AM Sat Nav was a bit useless for the last tour, it took Simon miles out of his way :)
LOL-Don't remind me!!! :D
Richard-Have a look at Tom Toms website-they do a neat looking all in 1 unit for 500 notes-This was in PC World last week for that Price-But if you are looking to do other applications then go with what Ant said and get a PDA system :) Lateralgforce Aug 31st, 2004, 01:39 PM Pub looks good to me! Real Ale, Strongbow on draught, what more could I ask for! Should I bring my darts?
Cheers,
Brian ScoobyDoo Aug 31st, 2004, 01:43 PM Apparantly this pub is within walking distance to the Plant, so at least we know if we park our cars on the plant car-park they'll be safe. :) NotTheOracle Aug 31st, 2004, 03:57 PM Thanks for the PMs Helen..
Thought I was subscribed to this but obviously not - it worries me I'm a web developer and yet can't even work these forums properly yet!!
Pub looks good to me - complete with the Welsh connection too! ;) Times are fine too, means we'll miss most of the rush hour on the way I guess.
Si, bit early to decide,, but are we planning on doing a convoy down there with the NW peeps??
Matt ALD0 Aug 31st, 2004, 04:59 PM Thanks for the PMs Helen..
Si, bit early to decide,, but are we planning on doing a convoy down there with the NW peeps??
Matt
Yeah we can all convoy down together :)
On previous occasions we have met up in Knutsford services on the M6, will sort out times etc closer to the time :) ScoobyDoo Aug 31st, 2004, 05:22 PM The PM that I sent to Matt was bascially, if we all meet at Plant Oxford at around 11.30am, we can leave our cars there and walk to the pub (as in 1st post), which is literally over the road from BMW.
Then eat, drink and be (not so) merry - we're driving after all :D and then go back over to the Plant to start the tour :).
Simon - Remember there are major road works on the M6 from junction 6 (it goes to one lane). You may need to check this out nearer the time. ;) minicabrio Aug 31st, 2004, 05:30 PM The pub looks perfect Helen..... 11.30 sounds about spot on, gives us time to have a look around each others cars before heading over! Also means I can leave Bristol after the rush hour to get there!!
Looking forward to it!
Jon ScoobyDoo Sep 1st, 2004, 01:27 PM Yorkie Blue - you have PM :) The Elf Sep 2nd, 2004, 04:26 PM Didn't know there was a pub over the road from the factory  ALD0 Sep 2nd, 2004, 06:38 PM Didn't know there was a pub over the road from the factory
Would you be able to check? :) TonyM Sep 2nd, 2004, 07:22 PM I think it is down the road, over the road then down another road :D ScoobyDoo Sep 3rd, 2004, 08:56 AM When I rang the pub, they said they were within walking distance - and near enough opposite. Only going by what they said, Elf :) TonyM Sep 3rd, 2004, 10:47 AM This is a link to a map with the location of the pub circled.

Looks to be about 600-700 meteres from the factory. ScoobyDoo Sep 3rd, 2004, 02:55 PM Doesn't look that far to walk, what does everyone think?
Because.... I don't think they have a very big car park.
IS THIS PUB WE HAVE DECIDED ON????????????
If so I'll book a table for 30, if this is agreeable.
Helen xxx HedgehogHarvey Sep 3rd, 2004, 04:13 PM Sounds fine to me :D NotTheOracle Sep 3rd, 2004, 04:19 PM Sounds great to me! Much easier than trying to park what, 20-25 cars?? :) TonyM Sep 3rd, 2004, 05:19 PM Fine with us  ScoobyDoo Sep 7th, 2004, 02:07 PM ** Bump ** The Elf Sep 7th, 2004, 02:11 PM Where's the factory on that map??? ScoobyDoo Sep 7th, 2004, 02:23 PM Just to clear up any confusion......
I have just telephoned the landlady of the pub, and she confirms that
they are a 5 minute walk from the plant & in fact, BMW employees
use their pub at a lunch time & you can see the plant from the pub :D
She's getting back to me either this afternoon or in the morning, to confirm
numbers for a booking. :D:D ALD0 Sep 7th, 2004, 06:47 PM Please put 2 more places down for Reserves-Names to be confirmed. ALD0 Sep 7th, 2004, 10:06 PM Please put 2 more places down for Reserves-Names to be confirmed.
