What a weekend, thanks so much to the organisers, a fantastic weekend, and the run was great, notes worked really well :D
The convoy down was good, thanks to Scooby, Veron, Parc and Rich_IX, some nice rolling road blocks on the M1, and some guy in a Volvo who thought he was in a mini
Saturday night was great, was good to get chance to speak to veron, rich, scooby and catch up with people I havnt seen in a while. Edwards was very entertaining ;) ... and scooby, cheers for the pics of me trying to scam 2 drinks for the price of one from the vending machine, im sure it would have worked eventually :D
After dragging myself out of bed with a headache, I managed to get lost on the way to the services  but was rescued by Vicky and cheeky... cheers!, prob would have been circling that roundabout all morning if it wasnt for you :D
The run was really enjoyable, my car is now absolutely filthy, the highlight for me had to be going throught the ford! oh, and that drive with emma in front and thedaddy behind was highly entertaining, thedaddy... your mini one flies!!!! Mini Trainer... you get the award for nutter of the run :D "what a load of balls" ha ha !!! :D Sorry I didnt keep up on the M1, Id had enough at that point so settled for a steady cruise home!
All in all, this was the best run I have been on, I hope there will be one next year ;)

4. Not sure of there username but a black works s... very nice ;)
5. Mini Trainer giving it some through the ford  RedMini Aug 15th, 2004, 10:13 PM Another great run, and excellent pace notes. Thank you!
Managed not to get lost in spite of doing the run solo and ending up being at the front for much of the time. I think the secret is not to rely on a passenger as they lose track of where they are.
I also find that it causes far less "domestics" if you take a car each. When we share a car the driver just complains about the navigation and the passenger complains about the driving!
Nice to see some classic Mini's doing some sort of run and having friendly waves and flashs from them.We saw Dutch, Belgian and Germans. I guess they are over here for next weekends IMM. Can you imagine such friendliness from British classic owners? I can't and we own a classic too. bards Aug 15th, 2004, 10:15 PM ...and some more pics
1. Parc in the ford, making sure not to spoil Andy's polishing job on the front bumper ;)
2. Myself goingt through the ford... slowly
3. Not sure who, but nice new convertable going through the ford
4. Think that is thedaddy in the silver one, not sure on the others

We met some great people:cool:
We've got some nice pics, not sorted thru them yet but we promise to post some tomorrow. :indi: MartinSSZ Aug 15th, 2004, 10:22 PM 3. First U-Turn of the day
Is that me (OV02 SSZ) ? If it is, any chance of the photo without the numberplate blurred out? dcfkan Aug 15th, 2004, 10:26 PM 8 pages already!
Got home shortly after 22:15h, had to pull over for a little rest, and A14 had a jam up somewhere
Thanks everyone for participating in this run :)
I apologise for not being able to speak to everyone - I tried, honest :o
It was great to see so many of us in one place, with lots of newbies, not to mention the usual suspects and great friends :)
I spent most of the morning alone with JANEY and her mate as company, cos we got rather lost around Barton :o Rather than trying to rejoin the group, I decided to go straight to the Prescott instead :)
Thank you for your generosity and contributions to Whizz Kidz :) Hopefully Soggy will post the final total raised soon :)
Too tired to sort out the pics and write up - doing washing up duty at the mo with one dishwasher on the go, and another load ready and waiting!
Hope to write it all up and post a few pics later.
THANK YOU ALL for making this a very memorable day indeed :)
DK ;) :apple:
