I always thought we wave because we can't shout over the combination exhaust rumble/squeak factory.

I ama FIRM believer that there must be qualification tests that have to be passed before one is allowed to buy a MINI.

Perhaps a waiting period, like buying a gun.

Background check, please.

you couldn't have said it better! :) ... I do have to know though, not to offend anyone, but are there Mini owners out there somewhat near my age group?.. (I'm 28) I get along with people of all ages, but I'm starting feel a little like an outsider... just call me Whippersnapper! ...LOL

Where are you located, and are you coming to any meets? I'm 22 and jwardell is 25ish? The young ones pick on the old ones, the old ones pick on the young ones, and the old ones pick on the other old ones...it all comes around.

Jared, I thought you were WAAAAY older than that. And what's old, anyway. So if Josh is 25ish, I'm only twiceish older than him.

Really?? Naahhh...1982!! You had probably graduated college...and then some!

Basically, everybody gives eachother :bad::bad::bad::bad: about everything from age to nitrous to car color (brown especially!).

It's fun...we are a great group!

still 31. is this now an age thread? I'm getting my MC40 tomorrow. Early since they got my JCW shipment a day before planned. Why, if they'd delivered on saturday - it would have been the second anniversary of my first MINI delivery.

HUDSON BAY OR BUST 2005

Sounds like a great trip! I shall be there with you in spirit....

Next time, try to organise your HBOB 2006 trip in Europe and then I'll be able to make it! :D

LOL... cool... I'm in the Merrimack/Nashua area, I'll be going to come to MAMA 2 and possibly the Haunted Mini run, I just need to know where it's going to be because I have two dogs and I need to know if I should board them overnight if I'm going to be driving for a thousand miles that day... :) I saw it said RI, but I couldn't find my way out of a paper-sack up here! (I'm a Florida refugee!..) are any of you going to MAMA 2? perhaps if you're local we could meet up somewhere near here and drive down to the Haunted run together?... I'm meeting Harvey and following him over to Keene for MAMA 2, anyone wanna follow us? that'd be cool!

ROCK ON! :D

I guess I'm glad I'm up here in the sticks. Reception to OB has been absolutely 'smiley' . So far it's at least 9 of 10 on average , MINI owners wave, flash lights or something. I have more smileys by non-MINI owners. They have pulled up beside me, made great comments, asked where I bought 'it', just tell me it's --- nice - neato -- beautiful - lots of CUTE - . All my co-workers are impressed ( the ones that have ridden are amazed, the ones waiting to ride are itchey to go.

People walking take quad takes ( double takes just don't do it ) Other drivers, notably going the opposite direction smile ( most of these are females, guys just intensely oogle )

Keeps me smilin'

Must be the color - IMHO

I am a BAD Mini owner!!! :( I was driving through North brookfield yesterday with my mother and she says "there is one with a union jack roof" and stupid me isn't paying attention, and I catch the classic Mini in my rearview mirror! It's the first real classic Mini I have seen and I didn't wave!!! My mother said he was waving like hell to me!!! At least she waved.

That happens to me every once in a while. I pay so much attention to the (crazy) traffic in my direction, I rarely have time to concentrate on what's going on the other way. I get notified by the passenger if I have one and it's too late. It's a shape they were waving and you missed them, but maybe you will cross paths again. I find I am getting better at catching them and waving then missing them or responding too late, only now several months into owning my mini.

Boy, looking at the past posts, I feel like a youngin at 21...just goes to show that the MINI has the sort of universal appeal that transcends age and location...

I play "I spy a MINI" with my significant other all the time and I will say that she is getting so much better at picking a MINI out of a crowd. We wave and get about a 30% response but I think that is due to the great driving experience that the MINI gives you.

Saw few MINIs at the shore. Today, dark gray ragtop, no wave but he wasn't looking my way BUT, in Bedford at the intersection of 101 and old bedford road, toots from R/W MINI, with license BULLY4U. Cool plate whoever you are. Dan, I tried to stop but you know who had to get to Home Goods but fast.
