My mini will be arriving soon sometime next month .. before I pick up my new MINI I need to sell my old car. The thing is my old car isn't register in my name, it's in my cousin's name the reason being that I just took over his payment when he graduated and moved back home (out of country).
Will I be able to trade that car in if it's not register to my name? .. I do have a letter from him "power of the attorney" saying that he authorize me and that I will be selling the car on his behalf.

I'm not sure about the power of attorney thing but if you have the title signed over then you legally own the car. If you are still working on the payments then you probably don't own the car and he will have to sign the paperwork. I've even co-signed on previous loans and the main signer (my mother) had to be present when I sold the car. If you are unsure about the power of attorney ask a dealer or a lawyer.

I think you need to have your cousin sign off on the old title. Power of attorney would technically give you the ability to sign for him - but it could get complicated. If you are going that rout, might need a solicitor involved.
