Hi
It seems i am another of the many unhappy mini/BMW customers. My mini cooper is one and a half years old. On five occasions the engine has died on me with the EML and engine light appearing. If I am in the middle of driving it loses power in seconds, the last time whilst I was driving 70mph on the motorway to suddenly find myself chugging at 20mph before being towed back to the dealer. Other times it is whilst trying to start the engine, whatever time of the day or weather, the car stalls immediately after turning the key and only with lots of attempts & reving do i get the car going. The problem is major and the car is a death threat. The dealers can't seem to fix the problem as it reoccurs every 2-4 months. Hence, I have now demanded that the dealer give me a replacement car or cash back with a lawyer on the case as the dealers are not playing fair.
Did you come accross similar engine problems? What do you think? Any advice would be appreciated re my problem/case.
