I have decided to fit the aero spoiler myself , now I was hoping if I could get a few questions answered :)

1: The primer and glue, do you have to add this to all the area of the spoiler that will be attached to the roof or just the black tape like product running around the edges?

1a: If you have to add primer and glue to all the area which will be attached to the roof, do you have to sand down the white paint to a rough surface for the glue to bond?

I have added a picture so you get an idea of what I am talking about :p

2: Do you have to use sandpaper and sand down the roof where the brake light is?, or will the glue bond with this painted roof surface?

3: Which is the best type of tape to use, masking taps (is it strong enough) duct tape (how will this affect the paint)

Thanks Jp

Hi Jp
heres what i did to remove old (S) spoiler&install aero
spoiler.
1: remove old spoiler. (duh)
2:rough-up bottom of new-0ne with sandpaper.
3:clean bottom of new-one with supplied solvent or
de-natured alcohol. get it @paint or hardware stores.
4:clean roof @contact points (see 2&3 above)
5:test fit to get a plan on how to tape &or brace in place.
6:put glue on spoiler (don't go ape-s---) don't worry about brake-lite.
7:set in-place &tape like crazy.brace if you want.(i did)
8:i used blue painters-tape&let it set of 12 hrs.
9:results-strong as a brick-outhouse&great looks great.
just take your time&think it out.

I recommend duck tape as it's really strong and doesn't damage the paint of vinyl (i.e. uj roof or checks) on the rooft.

Use the cleaner that comes with the glue to thoroughly clean the roof area of the tailgate. Put a bead of glue around the black unpainted line of the spoiler, leaving a small gap at the brake light area.

Hold in place and get a friend to check it looks right then tape in position.

Have a final check before leaving it overnight.

Don't wash the car for 24 hours afterwards.

Another tip, have something ready to clean the glue off your hands, it's messy if you manage to get some on you!
