I'm moving back to the states here very shortly. I have GPS/NAV in my car and currently have teh UK DVD in it. I have had teh Germany DVD in it and know how all that works. now here's teh question, How does it work for the states? Is it country wide, state wide or regions? Such as North-East, North-West, Central, etc... I will be moving to Idaho, but picking my car up in Seattle and needing/wanting to us my GPS to get there... please help me out...

While I can't answer your question about the Sat/Nav...I believe it's major metro area by major metro area..but others will correct that...
Is this move permanent? Is your car UK Spec or US Spec? It's my understanding that a UK spec car would not be importable other than on the one year foreign national plan. If UK cars were importable I'm betting an awful lot of us would be doing that to get RHD.

My 2004 MCS has Nav and it contains the entire USA. I do not know if a US DVD will work in a European model.

Thank you for your help...You'll be fine bringing your car to the USA. I know of a USAF guy who brought his over. He is keeping the European license plates because he lives on base.
One thing for you to check is your warranty. I've heard that it will not transfer across the Atlantic. My friends are moving to England and taking their US MINI with them and have been told that their warranty will not be honored at the dealerships in the UK. The funny thing is that he will be stationed at an RAF just outside Oxford.
