Hi guys:

I just got my DS/Blk MCS '05 to say the least its * * AWESOME * *.

I thought I was going to have a hard time adjusting from driving around an SUV for 9 years
but, I was wrong.

I been intrigued about the red line markings on the RPM dial. It seems that the lower half about 7-8 are always lite. While 5-6 are always off. Is this correct? I been looking through the forums and have not found anything in the topic.

Thank you for your reply.

Best Regards,

the redline is different for different models. this lets MINI use the same tachometer
part across the range. More lights on for the diesel (not available here in US),
and MC with CVT than the MC manual or MCS.

MINI has a limit they have installed this red line protect the engine . If you drive into that area you are pushing the car to the max. :D
