Since a couple of hours I have no signal receipt on the Mini sat nav (no satellite pictures in upper right corner)

Checked:

- hidden menu also confirmed that no satellites are recognized.
- did reboot
- ejected DVD


Any idea what causes this ? (except some defect shark antenna)


btw our Bimmer does have nav at same location, some no problems out in the sky ;)

I've had this happen a few times, then the next day or next time I restart the car, it works again.

And at times if the system is on for a while, in an underground carpark or somewhere that no sat contact is available, once you're back outside again, it can still take a little while for the system to try again and contact satellites...

well this morning still no satellites on the screen

I'd suggest an aerial issue there. Talk to your dealer, I'm sure they can sort this out.

That happened to me too, my car was buried about a foot of snow for a couple of days, and when i finally dug it out the GPS light never came on. It was like that for about 2 days before it thawed or whatever and works fine and i always have a signal.

Um. it ,might be as simple as the antenna coming unplugged from the back of the nav computer. You have to take the seat out and the metal bracket to get to it though, so I would take it to the dealer.

the garage told me that the antenna was defect. they ordered a new one. (still under guarantee)
