: new mini 2007 Specialized Feb 11th, 2005, 06:04 AM hi,
New mini 2007 specifications found in the bangkokpost!
http://www.bangkokpost.com/Motoring/11Feb2005_motor85.php craigsyboo Feb 11th, 2005, 10:18 AM "Interior plastics will be of a much higher grade, however."
That has to be the best news I've heard all week!! ;)
"it could allow Mini to increase prices for the high-output Cooper and S "
And that may well be the worst!! :( Rogier Feb 11th, 2005, 01:44 PM do you know if the pictures are available on-line as well?

Sleefje Rakey Feb 22nd, 2005, 10:17 AM great pics, before anyone says it is ugly and they prefer the current car, please remember that its heavily disguised;) MINIMAT Feb 22nd, 2005, 11:28 AM "The windscreen will also stay upright and relatively close to the driver."
What? As someone said elswhere the dash is so big they could do a puppet show on it. Rogier Feb 24th, 2005, 07:39 AM nice pictiures!
mooie plaatjes!
Rogier Paul Feb 24th, 2005, 09:07 AM Nothing new from the Bankok post there, and nothing really solid either.
Nice spy shots. Oh to be a MINI tester/test engineer. Hard life.

OMG - please don't let it be true!
It always takes an age to get used to new shapes, doesn't it?
Note wot you say, Rakey,
But does this mean the new one will be heavier, I wonder? TheOfficeMaven Mar 7th, 2005, 02:43 AM Hi All,
I just received a phone call from a research company tonight inviting me to participate in a research study sponsored by MINI (in the USA). They claim that MINI wants me to take a look at future models of their cars and give them my opinions about the design, etc. (I've done these types of surveys quite a few times before, but it has always been for American cars). I'm totally jazzed as I'm sure that I'll get to see what the upcoming 2007 model MINI is going to look like (or something close to it anyway). They even hinted at the possibility of a test drive for a limited number of folks, but they weren't very forthcoming with the details. And... If that's not enough, they're going to pay me $100 for my time. How cool is that! I'd certainly do it for free, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. :D Cooper76 Mar 7th, 2005, 04:19 AM Hi All,

To me, this is the best news so far (below):
With 143hp on tap _ a 28hp increase _ it (Cooper model) should be capable of 0-100kph in 8.5sec. That's a big gain over today's car's 9.8sec. The extra performance will be most noticeable on the move. With a massive increase of 92Nm of torque, the new Cooper will offer as much torque at 2,500rpm as today's car does at its 4,500rpm peak.
Yeah baby!
Even if I end up with an S for the next MINI, this is still awesome news! Boo Mar 7th, 2005, 05:17 AM Hi All,

Tell them we want an AWD 200KW MINI to take on the Evo's and Sti's in Tarmac Rallies please...... Tell them it is time to get really serious about performance and there are enough people who will buy them.... 2bob Mar 7th, 2005, 08:29 AM Please :D:D:D

Yes, the "pre-view" or "research study" is scheduled to take place on March 18th through March 21st in Southern California (there could be others going on around the country as well). I'll be one of the first ones through the door on the morning of the 18th! :D
If I don't have to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), I'll definitely post back with some info on the cool stuff I got to see. Otherwise, my hands will be tied I'm afraid (as I don't want to risk not being invited to participate in the future). rpM Mar 8th, 2005, 03:09 AM I'll be one of the first ones through the door on the morning of the 18th! :D
Too bad you're going on Friday, we could have caravaned up! :) I'm scheduled on Saturday for 12pm.
Rick Tone Mar 8th, 2005, 12:26 PM Enjoy, guys - keep in touch... Cooper76 Mar 10th, 2005, 02:37 AM Just tell 'em to keep it real and don't farque up a great thing. It's awesome the way it is and you don't want to break something that doesn't need fixing. BMW-AG seems to have that mentality already though, which is a very good sign. And why they are #1 in the world! ;) corkmini Mar 11th, 2005, 02:06 PM I might be late to the party with this one -

Thanks. Good read. Do you happen to know when that article was printed? Paul Mar 11th, 2005, 05:34 PM Not very accurate, a lot of guess work, but a good read.

Ha ha! A friend of mine who drives a 3 series BMW keeps on showing me "Minis are going to change" articles. I'm sure it's just to try and annoy me! Maybe it's because I slag him off for spending so much on a brand new, old model 3 series ;)
Anyway, Tone, the article is from about 6 weeks ago. The issue of the mag had a slightly touched up hyper blue and white Cooper S on the cover. Looked kind of nice actually! RickB Mar 15th, 2005, 05:44 PM In looking at the spy pics, it really looks like all they've done to the front is to move the grille forward about 3", reducing the undershot jaw look, and "stretching" the surrounding sheetmetal forward to match. Is it any longer, overall?
In looking at pics of my own car, I now think the new one is a bit longer. The grille is now about where the edge of the bumper was before, and the bumper sticks out a couple of inches past that. It looks less like a classic Mini, but certainly a reasonable evolution of the MINI. | |
