:p YOU STINKAH! :p

Nice trolling, if that was your intent. You got me! (If not, then thanks for finding the info, and cheers on the play on words. )

Of course I had to go look - At first I thought you were spoofing, but I did dig up the page you quoted. However, the accident occured while leaving Bremerhaven on March 15th, before any MINIs were loaded onto it at Southampton on March 18th. There is evidence that Capriconus Leader sailed from Southampton on March 18, so for anyone who got alrmed by the accident report, there appears to be no need to worry.

Any other news about the Capricornus Leader?

If I was going to mess with your head, I'd post something like the image below.

Have I missed this some where, but are our MINIs booked on ships way in advance?

Looking at the cargo history for my MINI, it shows a BOOK date of Feb-2 and then a READY TO SCAN AT TERMINAL on Mar-22.

Ken, I'm sorry to hear about your status on the MB :( Today (Mar-27) is my big day since the ship sails today. My status hasn't changed to loaded, so I may be joining you on the next ship out. We'll see in 24 hours or so

The slot is booked months in advance, but which particular MINI fills the slot is determined at the last minute. :)

Thats not nearly as bad as some pharmacy jokes I have heard like
Why is there no aspirin in the jungle?
Because the parrots ate 'em all!

Yeah don't feel bad if you dont get, I think its funny to about 1 percent of the population and luckily I get to be in that one percent. :D

Could be worse, you could be like me and have a degree in philosophy. Would you like fries with that?

So, hey, I'm a clinical psychologist here in San Francisco. Going CRAZY waiting on my MINI! Well, there is progress--moved today from body shop to paint shop. I've just rented the Italian Job. What do I do after that?

MiniHaze: yeah, I think they will keep the chrome mirrors and give me the black. No hubby into chrome on my end so it works out.

In the final stretch of waiting, I just went to a meet with some fellow MINI owners here.

For some suggestions to occupy the final countdown, you may want to start looking at aftermarket parts to add. I really like the Whalen shift machine, but unfortunately it's only for the manual. Duh. :D Also, take a look at the graphics available from Cooperflags, those are a great way to decorate your MINI.

I just got one of those glovebox organizers..and have been reading up in the other forums about free stuff from dealers and things to keep my MINI looking clean and tidy. Also took one of those online defensive driving classes (free from the university) to see if that will reduce my insurance, but I'm running out of things to do to feed my MINI obsession. One of my friends yesterday said "Your obsessed with that car!" I reminded him that I just went through a breakup last week and we could talk about that instead....he said "so what color MINI did you get again?"

That is good. :D

Have you downloaded the owner's manual yet? It's available at Motoring File (http://www/motoringfile.com)

Check to see what options you want programmed.

Also, go to Miata Drives (http://www.miatadrives.com) and start planning some drives. :)

.

First you watch it once all the way through. Then you watch all the special features especially The Mighty Minis, and Driving School. Then you go to Scene Selection and watch the movie from the beginning of the Minis sequence right through the end. GA-AMHIK!!! =o)

I don't know. I sort of promised myself that I wasn't going to check the status of my MINI daily.....but now that it's almost on a boat....aw, what the heck. I've got nothing else to do. How do I check for the boat?

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Website Tracking

Once your MINI is built and released to distribution, it is transported from the factory by auto transport truck to the port at Southampton. From there it will make the voyage across the Atlantic aboard a Wallenius Wilhelmsen vessel to one of three US ports of destination ... New York, Charleston (SC) or Port Hueneme (CA).

Once you have an estimated production date listed at MINI USA's Owners' Lounge, and even before production has started, you can find out on which vessel your MINI might be booked. Just click on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site to do a Search by Ports from the drop down menu to see which vessel leaves Southampton after your estimated production date and is bound for one of the three ports adjacent to a Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) closest to your dealer. That means the ports of either New York, Charleston SC, or the single west coast port of Port Hueneme CA.

Since estimated production dates have been know to ping-pong, it's probably less stressful to wait until your MINI has been assigned a VIN number and has started production. Then you can click Auto at WW Cargo Tracking and use your MINI's entire 17 digits (alphanumeric) VIN as the Cargo ID (it used to work with only the last 7 characters of the VIN). Tracking will display a Cargo Status History, showing your MINI as one or more of the following:

BOOKED
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL
LOADED ON VESSEL
DISCHARGED (at Port of Destination)
Having your MINI BOOKED and RECEIVED AT TERMINAL does not ensure it being LOADED on the specified vessel. Some MINIs have even been LOADED only to be REMOVED and then BOOKED on a later departing vessel. To avoid frustration, check to see that your MINI is still LOADED a day or two after its intended vessel departs Southampton.

Other interesting information listed on the Cargo Status History is Vessel, Voyage ID and Booking Number. Clicking the Voyage ID will display the sailing schedule for your vessel. You can also go back to WW Cargo Tracking after your vessel has sailed and then track by Booking Number to find out how many other MINIs are onboard with yours. For those with too much time on their hands, visit this US Coast Guard site to find your MINI-carrying ship's "call sign". Then, with the call sign in hand, visit the Ocean Weather site to look for your ship's call sign and current location at sea by scanning the Marine Observations pages.

This only works for WW, but they seem to carry most of the cars bound for the NY port. I bet you are riding the Jingu Maru. :)

I went to the site, put in my VIN # and it said that no tracking info was available. :(
I promised myself I wouldn't do this but now it's too late. I'm worried. :(

ApriWhine....it's all your fault. And it's too early in the morning to start drinking. Wasn't there a psychologist on this forum? ;)

I'm not currently set up to use paypal..but you could just have your MINI forwarded to me for payment. Just let me know when to start the clock.

Actually, now that my MINI is done..I feel much better. I know it will get here soon. Plus I just sank 400 and a full tank of gas in my Saturn.

It's all about distraction.
