I talked to my MA this am and he said that generally, they have been moving stuff through there the VPC pretty quickly like 24-36 hours, and thinks I may be able to take delivery (@ Patrick Mini, Chicago) monday or tuesday!!!

He did caution that one of the intangibles is U.S. Customs. The VPC processes the cars immediately, but a customs release is sometimes a black hole. One of his customers had a car held for 21 days, with no explanation, they just said they couldn't release it. (I wonder if that guy did a thourough look behind all of his door panels after delivery, just to see id there were and additional "factory options installed")

Oh - one question. I looked closer at the picture of my wheels. My tires don't say Pirelli, so they must be Dunlops. Are those good? It said something like Sport ?000 and then some letters - I forget now. I'll have to look at the pic again. I like my husband's Pirelli tires. I hope these are just as nice.

I got home yesterday afternoon and my wife said "I've made an appointment for you at 4;00". I instantly knew what she meant. She had gotten THE CALL :) So, off we go, with my daughter in tow, and picked up my MINI. I couldn't post last night as I was tired and besides.....I had to read the owners manual. Think i'll play hooky today and get to know her. Pictures later....i've got to motor. :)

I think you may be right. I absolutely love The red & black combo. Very sporty but subdued (just like me ;) ) at the same time.

Did I miss pictures? Are there pictures yet? Where are the pictures? I guess it's good I got the yellow, otherwise there would be three almost identical MINIs here. :) By the way, I want to see pictures! :p

gaminicool - I can't wait to see pictures of your MINI too. When I first started, I was considering Hyper Blue, Black, Pepper White, and Chili Red. All of the Hyper Blues we looked at were without bonnets, and I just couldn't visualize them, so I finally gave up on that color and moved on. From there, I had it narrowed down to three...and picked the Liquid Yellow! :) I think your little Hyper Blue convertible with bonnets is going to be quite cute though. All MINIs are cute, of course, but I am anxious to see what this one looks like.

Paul - thanks for the opinion on the tires. They do look nice in the pictures. Can't wait to try them out! I read that the 9000's were good for water days, but I couldn't tell from the pictures what the first number was, and I don't really know about all the tire model numbers.

Well, I know my MINI was discharged today from the Resolve...but no word on when I can pick it up. I guess it could be any day now...

I just spoke to my MA and she said I may get my Mini by next week :D :D :D

Just to let everyone know tommorow is the first day that you can pre order your pontiac solstice. I know some of you have had your mini for about a week now so its probalby time to start thinking about your next car. I believe this would be a good choice, not to pricey either. :)

I actually had $500 down on a Saturn Sky before I suddenly without warning HAD TO HAVE A MINI...

btw..am I the ONLY one that came in on the Resolve in the March group?

I ive been on dry ground since the 13th with the Andes Highway, There are lots of mini on the resolve, just not sure who from here is on it :confused:

I'm in Houston - seems like it could be here sooner than that - my MA was saying it could be here by Monday. I figured that was a bit agressive, but the 23rd? I'll be bummed - I have to go out of town that weekend, so I won't be picking it up until at least that Monday.

I'm the kind of guy who hates to bother folks so the only call I've made after watching all the other Mini folks here get their cars, was to my MA in Albuquerque. According to him, it's scheduled to arrive in an LA port on 4/17. Hmmm..anyone care to hazard a guess which ship I'm on and whether or not that could be accurate. Yes, I know, I could have asked for the bill of lading and all, but I'm trying to play it cool :cool: and pretend that I'm not on the edge of my seat here.

For those of you frustrated by the slow speed of the Andes Highway, I can assure you, it's nothing like a ride to the west coast!

It's probably the NYK Capricornus Leader, scheduled into (and out of) San Diego on the 16th. Best guess for its next stop: Port Hueneme

geotrash and JohnnyL, sounds like you guys are in (on) the same boat as me, the NYK Capricornus Leader, to be specific... She left Southampton, UK on March 18, and was originally due to arrive at Port Hueneme on April 12, but suffered some kind of delay. I called NYK's RO/RO division in Torrance yesterday, and got confirmation from them that Capricornus Leader would be at Hueneme on the 17th "give or take..." For what it's worth, she's due to discharge autos (no idea what) at San DIego on the 16th.

Nice to finally hear from some folks who are shipmates. :cool: What dealers are you taking delivery from? Mine is South Bay MINI in Torrance. Can't wait to drive my Liquid Yellow MCS Convertible!

WOW your MA said MONDAY? That does sound agressive..but it's possible if it zips through the VPC. I hear they work on Saturdays if they have alot of "Priority One" (already sold) cars. I'm okay with the 21st...but I haven't heard anything from my MA yet.

My car was completed on March 24. Heading to Port Hueneme.

I know the rules. I was supposed to immediately post pictures but you see, it's like this. By time I got home Wednesday night it was too dark for pictures. Then Thursday came and I had to perform critical operations like programing the radio, adjusting the seat, and watching the window go up and down 1/8 " everytime you open and close the door. :cool: Oh yeah, LOTS of test driving. But now the my MINI is dusty and we can't have her looking all dusty for her photo shoot, now can we?

Guess I'll have to give her a quick cleaning and then, more test driving. But then she'll get dirty again. :( Hmmmmm. You might have to wait for those pictures. ;)

:) I'm actually fine.....not anxious...mostly just bored of waiting and burned out from work. No intervention needed :) Plus I just put a full tank of gas in my Saturn..that's sure to trigger the power of irony and get my car delivered early.
