Just got it this afternoon. I am so happy with it, but there was a bit of an issue - THEY FORGOT THE BONNET STRIPES!

They pulled the car in and no stripes. It wasn't the dealer's fault - it was on the order. They will get some in an put them on at the dealer - they said they are exactly the same as the factory. At least it was something they could do and it's not like they forgot the Sunroof.

Did you all hear about the HK plant having a fire at it so its going to delay minis that have been speced with HK by up to a month?! the article is over at motoringfile.com That really sucks for new people ordering a mini, glad my mini is safely at my dealer waiting for me to pick up. Minus a freak hail storm I do not see anything going horribly wrong. Has the spell check not been working for you guys? It does not seem to work for me :(

Have a 9 AM appointment on saturday to pick it up. the only major memory options that i changed were the convience opening when you hold down on the key and it rolls down the windows, I had that turned off and I also had the follow me home light turned off because i thiink i would always worry if i turned off the lights or not. And i have no need for them... Saturday is what? only 3 days away!! My mini is finally coming home!

Murray is looking pretty sweet too...but I would be a little partial with the yellow color choice and all.

And, SSSHH...the husband already says I spend too much time on the computer. Actually, I checked at lunch today and slipped in for a few minutes just now. Other than that, I've been trying to cut back. :)

I've been taking the long way home all week so far. I've determined that my MINI (and other MINIs too) make the world a better place - because they put smiles on faces. My little MINI keeps getting smiles everywhere I go - it's so cool!

Anyone else having trouble with the gallery. I still can't load pics...and I want to load a picture of my Euro plate!

Who got the call? Yeah it is me... car came in earlier today. Actually, I have not been able to get out of the MCSC for more than a few minutes the past week, since the weather has been so beautiful!!! I am just loving life right now. Yay! The website says it's at the VDC. Given the time lag others are seeing, it's probably sitting in the dealer's service bay for finishing school. ABQ can't be more than 2 days' drive down I-40 for a trucker. Hope the phone rings tomorrow!

Yes - It's me. More delays :( Apperntly my dealer forgot to order a stalk for my alarm system - So now it looks like Monday will be the day :rolleyes: But it looks like they are going to give me a loaner for the weekend as my rent-a-car has to be turned in. I'm hoping for at JCW tester :D

I haven't heard anything on the t-shirts lately. I started working on a design, but then saw the other designs being posted and halted my work because I thought those were pretty cool. Someone said something about a poll. Is there going to be a poll?

Hi Debbie - And yes I am just about crazy at this point - but what's a couple of days if I can get my Mini just right. I want the alarm so if I make some short stops I can leave the top down and not really worry too much when I'm away from the car :rolleyes:

Well, we are set up for delivery on Tuesday. My MA tried to get it ready for today but the detailing wasn't done and she didn't want to rush things. I work all day tomorrow until 8:00 at night so that was out of the question. They are booked up for Saturday so that left Tuesday as it's my early night off of work. The wait is killing us. We would have really liked to have had it for the weekend but there is always next weekend.

I picked up my MINI today! It's really wonderful. I'll have some pics by tomorrow for sure...the bad news is my best friend's cat just got diagnosed with cancer. Doesn't sound like Fred (the cat) will live any longer than a month. It's pretty devistating news for my friend. Needless to say, I haven't had much time to spend motoring around or taking pictures..but I want to take some time out tomorrow to do that....

Depending on who is in the crew...seeing it's mostly U.S. peeps... Mine is sitting on the dock in Sydney Australia. About two weeks 'til delivery. Nice to read about it happening for you guys though.

BTW, Sydney is only two hours away from where I live but it will take two weeks to get it! Bummer! :(

Very nice! The white pinstripes on the edges of the bonnets really set them off on that green. Very cool! Happy Motoring.

Ken - congratulations on your MINI. Sorry to hear about your friend's kitty cat though. Knowing how excited that you have been to get your MINI, it's very nice of you to support your friend instead of being out in the MINI. There's always the weekend though. Hope you get to do some motoring.

Congratulations to those that are getting delivery dates too! We will all have our MINIs soon! My MINI will get his first official bath tomorrow. I cleaned the other car up this evening so that I can put the for sale sign in, and I actually felt bad. My husband cleaned his MINI, the other car got to be cleaned, and there sat my little yellow MINI with all of his pollen that he's collected this week! He'll be clean tomorrow though.

I'm still frustrated with this picture uploading thing. Sounds like I'm not the only one having trouble though.

Well, I am posting something a little bit different in that I have already posted pics of the exterior (where most individuality shows) but I thought I would show y'all what I did with the motor. No mods were done, just eye candy. (hey, it was a sale at Mossmini.com so I went a little nuts :rolleyes: )

I changed out the OEM caps on the oil, the power steering and the radiator caps as well as a different oil dipstick. Hey, I can't have a fancy exterior as budgets have a way of stopping big stuff, but at least my motor doesn't have to look the same as everyone elses, eh? :D

April, your post on another thread about the cleaning of the white wheels was funny and darned near true! (the hourly thing) So far, out of the 8 days we have owned this, we (ok, I have) cleaned the wheels 4 times already and they need it again! sheeeeeesh! I'll continue to do it because they are SO darned sharp looking when clean. :cool:

p.s. for those wondering why the oil cap was silver instead of the red...they were out of the red by the time I ordered this stuff :mad: I just knew I wanted something besides the basic black stuff that was on there.

Hembrey--very handsome MINI. One of my favorite colors, especially w/those stripes.

Taz--wow, cool caps. Very creative and sensible use of your "waiting on the MINI" time! You get gold stars for that.

Well, that's a piece of good news there bud! I heard something to the effect of that with guys I worked with but I didn't really catch it back then. What you said meshs nicely with what they described so now I look forward to getting a few K miles under our belt to reduce those daily cleanings. :D

BTW, great shot of your car. (gonna take 'er out to a scenic area for a photo-op soon?)
Oh, as for uploading photos here...I was able to add that latest pic to my gallery even though the thumbnail shows the red X. Clicking on it brings up the actual photo so it may just be problems with the thumbnails. (I got that long list of errors too, but it still loaded ok)
