Holy smokes! Did you ever hit the brakes? That is very cool, you supplied pics! There are times flying around this board that are a bit tough to swallow without seeing a screen shot!

Although, I am sad now, I was proud of my time and I just got smoked! Time to go back to tuning! Great times!
Thanx!
Brakes? Which button on the controller does those? :D :D :D
Yeah just knew no-one was gonna believe me without cold hard evidence

Hey you don't need tuning, just a good knowledge of The Ring

I will try it! I am learning it, but over the course of a 13 mile track (21km) track, one tends to forget the little bends! Of course, these are the ones that send you off the road, or if you are really lucky, into the rail or sand!

Will give it a go this evening!

I've just spent the day doing my special license. The last "challenge" is to do the Nurbugring in a Mercedes 190 Race Car - 10000RPM, 350-ish bhp - in 7 min 58 or less. This was an absolute nightmare; one touch of the grass and you fail. It must have taken me about 30 attempts. I've got a good idea of the 'Ring now though. Time to take the Mini on there to get some times.

BTW. I bought myself a nice force feedback steering wheel yesterday. Absolutely brilliant. Transforms the game...even the wife will play now :D

What type of LSD does the real Cooper S have? In GT4 there are numerous types you can buy. 1-LSD, 2-LSD, variable LSD, etc. Which one is it?

Also, does anyone have any upgrade & tuning tips to get the '02 copper S up to the '05's 170BHP by adding realistic tweaks? I don't want a stupidly excessive drive, i want something that reflects the car's TRUE nature.

I was thinking the upgrades i'd need were:

Stage one Sports Suspension
LSD of some kind, but which ???

I was going to buy another Cooper S and tune it to the Works capabality of 210 BHP. That's also include the above upgrades, plus the "sports exhaust" and maybe an "engine chip".

Any other ideas?

Yeah, I have tried a bunch of different things to no effect! I looked up the actual gear ratios on the MCS and you cannot match them in the game! :( Not sure what to do!

That is worth the price by itself! ;)

Okay, I changed up the 1st post a little! It appears that there is another thread working on stock MCS (160hp). I changed it a little to include MINIs, production cars and race cars. Any horsepower rating is fine, I hope this brings out the tuning capabilities in everyone to tune a high bhp vehicle plus get it to handle the twisties! Any track is open, just let me know your times, vehicle, power rating and if nitrous was used.

Time to fire up the PS2! Good luck to all! Screen shots are great, but not necessary!

I suppose to if there is enough demand, I will create a webpage on the outside for everyone/car/track!

First rate CooperSAZ nice work. In Germany today (no not Nurburg :( ), so unable to give The Ring a pounding. Will give you some more times, probably tomorrow :D

Yeah, tell me about it! i tried the gear ratio thing too and the values are simply too low in the game. It makes getting the correct ratio really hard. I tried messing with the final ratio and all it seems to have done was lessen my max speed - not a good thing for courses with straights. I was wondering if there might be a conversion factor (take Mini's official ratios and do some maths to get it in proportion with the game).

Also - WHY is the set-up screen telling me that my supercharged engine is not aplicable? It's on default "none", rather than being enabled?

This is really strange that a game that says it's "the real driving simulator" doesn't have the Cooper S even come with sports suspension and a supercharged engine!

The only other thought I would have is to find out (or do yourself) the 1/4 mile. Find out what your speed and rpms are going through the time lights... Then try to match them in the game? Make sense? Still trying to come up with a better solution!

Agreed about the game, they treat the MCS as a NA vehicle. Would be nice to have an "upgrade" option for the supercharger! Maybe in future variants!

To make all the money you'll ever need, all you need to do is take your modded cooper S to the easy Amalfi Coast Course (Capri Rally). 2 Races, 5,000crs each, and a 250,000cr prize car... Needs an A licence, but u can run it on your racing tyres, cos its a tarmac course. Look for it in the special conditions hall, I've already won 4 and got a fully modded Ford GT :D.Loosemoose

Thankyou very much used the Scooby to pummel that lancia you can use the 5 second penalty to get round the tight corners. Used the prize car to win the Umbria rally that cadilac ceion ? looks great in the beginers mid engine race :D

In Simulation Mode, win the Mercedes only races! I believe I won it there! Trying to think, I won the MB Touring Car (like a '92 2.6 something!) Oh yeah, try the touring car in the Mercedes Section, I think that is where it is at!

GAME ON!

Good deal! Will update shortly!!! 175mph, geez! I wonder what that was like in a smaller car? I hit that with the M3 GTR and the car was bouncing around....

Question to all: I am going to shift this to a new thread to introduce the webpage. Anyone have any issues? I will forward the link to the thread but wanted to check first! I am almost complete with it and would like to start populating the sports!

Let me know!

Regards to all!
