Ok it has just occured to me that there is not that many Mini dealerships in the states. There is nearly one on every street corner over here in the UK. I will be going back to the states as my time will be up here in the UK come Sept of this year..and I am a bit concerned about the warranty work that I may or may not need to get done to my car. I have read that people in the states have had to drive forever and a day to get their Mini's worked on....please tell me that I will be able to take this car to ANY BMW dealer as that it doesnt have to be a Mini/BMW dealer. Mini dealers in the states are not very frequent and I would love for someone to tell me that I will be able to get away with going to a BMW dealer......HELP!!!

I cannot say that I have heard of someone taking their MINI into a BMW service center to get repaired/serviced. I think you need the MINI dealership present for SAs, MINI trained technicians and parts etc etc. Although, that is not to say it can't happen, I just have never heard of it!
Where are you moving to? A MINI dealership may be close by... Or if you have a choice, pick a city that has a dealership....

AFAIK, US BMW dealers cannot service MINIs. Some parts of the US are relatively dense with MINI dealerships and in other places they're very sparse. My state, Michigan, for example, has a grand total of one. Like CooperSaz says, if you know where you're going, it's easy to see what dealers are nearby on MINIUSA.com.

The difference in marketing approach is huge between the continents. While in the US the MINI brand has gone on a "stand alone" basis (MINI cars cannot be sold in a BMW showroom) in Europe it is not so. Any and all MINI dealerships I have seen are BMW-MINI so most Bimmer dealerships have the MINI brand. The price for getting the MINI brand in the US is a bit steeper and a BMW dealership has to ante up a separate showroom (not necessarily a service facility) to get the brand.
In short, you are out of luck......if you are really out of luck, you'll also get the old "well, it was not imported by MINI USA so...no warranty anyways......"
That happended to me the other way around with an AUDI........
