Admiral, Elephant and Bell Direct (all part of the same group) will insure you on an S for around £1500 - £3000 in your own name depending on your NCB. I'm 18 paying £2200 with 1 years NCB - with Admiral. My friend Jamie, 17 MCS - named driver under his dad with 6 years NCB £1800/year with Elephant.

I was with Admiral until I got my MCC - they don't insure options (even factory fitted) and as mine totalled to £4k, the risk was too great. Moved to Sainsbury's as soon as I could.

22 (nearly 23) Cooper :)

Seen as though the discussion's going that way I'll add ins details! 2yrs NCB with Direct Line - £650 p/a, not bad I guess. Hopefully will have company MINI in 3 months time so won't have to insure one at all and will have the choice of BEP One, EB Cooper, Astro Black Cooper Convertible or DS/W MCS to play with! Woo!! :D Sorry. Not to make anyone jealous!

the quote of 7k was from elephant .i was second driver and mum was first driver with 9 years no claims.

i think its soemthing to do with me living in london.

because a friend of mine which is 21. spent 25k on his s and basiclly aint even driven it properly yet. got one of the first hyper blue cooper s's last september. its a 54 reg hyper blue s fully loaded. and basiclly his insurance has gone up a staggering 500.00 for no reason and hes had no knocks or claims and theres only 1k put on the clock in 13 months hahaha

I'm 27 and drive a 2003 Cooper S. I have full NCB and pay very reasonable insurance with Bell Direct.

I had my first new MINI at 22, a 2001 Cooper. Anyone know what happened to 'MT 51 JDX'

Hi...

I'm 25 years old and i drive a black Mini Cooper S with the JCW upgrade and Aerokit... Just changed my stripes for the new season and fitted my long awaited wheels to finish the car off. :D

Whilst i am on here i'd like to take this opportunity to wish all fellow MINI owners regardless of age a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2006.... all the best.
