20 now, had my Mini for 2 years. Insurance kicked off at £1400 (a painful year!) now down to £700... not the best but not the worst.

My MINI is a luxury but I get so much enjoyment out of it and with the miles I do for work and between Uni/home I need a relatively safe car - happy to be footing her bills!

I'm 19 and currently drive a silver Mini One (04) but have just ordered a couple of days ago my Mini Cooper 07 plate in Mellow Yello with Chili pack, cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers, chrome mirror caps. :D Got to wait 5 weeks now though til I can get my hands on it! :(

Who are you insured with? I started out for my first year with Mini Cover which was £1000 but got it down to £800 with my pass plus. Then renewal came through not as good as I'd hoped so switched to Virgin who do interest free monthly payments and that was £648.90 (£52.40 a month). Not too bad for one years no claims.. Maybe you should just get an online quote to see what it would be for your next renewal?

When I get my Mini Cooper 1st March it will go up to about £80 a month, so the same as my first year of driving but should hopefully go back down to what I'm currently paying in August.

Sorry if you didn't want to know any of this!!
