You're 19, have a Focus RS, AND used to have a Hartge MCS. How (in terms of insurance)?

AND you prefer the Focus?

I can't believe what I'm hearing!

I am 35, and very happy with my new 2005 MINI Cooper. When the lease is up, I will be a very happy driver of a 2008 MINI Cooper (Maybe an "S")

If the Build date is conception (and i don't know about you but I normally want to be present for the conception) then what is the order date? To me, the order day felt more like conception to me - a lot of anticipation and some nervousness - lots of excitement and sense of satisfaction at the end. Then the official waiting for arrival begins.
hmmm.. ok... I'll compromise. Order date is conception, waiting for production number is 1st trimester, build is 2nd trimester and trip on le boat is 3rd trimester. Then, when he pops out of the dealer into my loving arms, we have his birthday. I know don't about you, but I don't want my baby to be delivered without being present ;) :p

I agree with that. I think that is a good way of putting it. The only other thought I had was that the build date is like the date the mom first goes to the Doctor and finds out for sure that she is expecting. But I like your trimester idea too.

stephenjc and ImaVunDerBrah, all this begs the question...is your MA (motoring advisor) really your MAMW? (Motoring Advisor Mid Wife) You know they DO assist in the process :D :D
Sorry, but I just had to ask...I'll go back to the recliner now...

Fits the metaphor perfectly. Now i just have to figure out who the mother is. Funny usually its figuring out who the father is thats the problem. I am just hoping the "mother" isn't some 300 pound teamster-like auto worker in the UK. So far all I can come up with is: I have been a single father for 13 years - when my son was little and in school they would make a little something to give to the Moms on mother's day he used to give the mother's day present to me. I was the mom by default. So maybe I am both mother and father to the MINI as well. A much better idea as far as I am concerned is presuming that the whole idea of buying a MINI starts in fantasy, then maybe the mother is the fantasy woman of my choice. I like that idea much better.

Definitely go with the dual-role thing. The idea of that 300 lb auto worker (who invariably has enough tattoo artwork on him to put the Louvre to shame) is a bit much to fathom.
As for the fantasy woman...well..that's another thread altogether now, isn't it? :D :D

Oh, for purposes of THIS thread...
Just turned 50 and (will be) driving an 05 CR/W Cooper. (dang, I can hardly wait!)

Yep if nothing else can - that will get you out of that recliner.

So which was the retirement gift the recliner or the MINI?

Well, if you think of the old 'baby being brought by the stork' story, the child's birthday is when the baby is delivered to the waiting arms of the parents just outside the front door.

Every six months a new registration number comes out and all new registrations in the period include the number.

Sep 2001 - Feb 2002 = 51
Mar 2002 - Aug 2002 = 02
Sep 2002 - Feb 2003 = 52
Mar 2003 - Aug 2003 = 03
Sep 2003 - Feb 2004 = 53
Mar 2004 - Aug 2004 = 04
Sep 2004 - Feb 2005 = 54
Mar 2005 - Aug 2005 = 05
and so on

All registrations have the format two letters then two numbers followed by three more letters eg. AB51CDE (unless you purchase a private registration plate)

Hope this helps
