Rossi is the Shiat!!!... apparently when he did the test in the ferrari he was on about 3 tenths slower than schumaker around the ferrari test track.

-Dan

Yeah I love The Doctor too...but show me a link that confirms his times....
Ferrari's policy was not to time him....

The "urban legends'" assert anything from 3 seconds - 0.1 seconds slower than
Scumacher after 3 - 300 laps....:D Another job for Mythbusters !

Rossi has publicly stated he is more likely to end up in WRC than F1....unless Bernie convinces someone to pay him Schumacher money (?). The days of Mike Hawthorne are long gone....:p

"Schumacher's best time was 58.433 seconds, well off his record pace of 55.999 set in February on the same track. Ferrari did not release Rossi's times, although the ANSA news agency clocked him - unofficially - at about 59.5 seconds."

He was well off Schumis best, but after a first drive its pretty damn good.... and if you believe Davide Brivio (Yamaha Boss man) then Rossi is in F1 definately for 2007.

http://www.sportnetwork.net/main/s85/st73134.htm

"We have already agreed on a one-year contract and we know that from 2007 he will be in Formula One."

Make of that what you will tho :p

The guy rocks! Like I have said many times, I have followed him for years since he first debuted in 125cc racing. I met him in Geelong a few years back... such an awesome guy!

Ive been following him also. What a Farkin legend...hes what 23/24/25?? Hes one everything in multiples. People like that are born to do that sort of thing. If he can do that, I believe he can do just as well (given time) in F1.
I mean the guy was winning on bikes just after he could walk, even Shuey had to work on his racing and was not always good yet for Rossi it comes totally naturally!

Valentino Rossi was born in 1979... So by 2007 he will still be middle of the bunch in F1...

I say give him a go, he will be ore interesting to watch develop than most of the other drivers!

Given his track record, he will have a great season in the first year, then second year, he will win the championship... Nobody will touch him this year in MOTOGP either, did you see another pole today?

Anyone see the RPM interview with Il Dottore yesterday ?

Case for the defence now rested...."I'ma gonna stay in MotoGP, I dont think in my future its possible to do cars...(with an Italian accent)"

It would be sensational if he did enter F!.

Hey Scotty you familiar with the Rossi 'start line and warmup lap proceedure' of re adjusting his leathers and jewels....how would he translate that to F1 ?

dunno if you've ever seen how baggy villeneuve wears his overalls, but apparently it takes him FOREVER to get everything folded and adjusted right when he's getting into the car.

And he's been blaming his poor lap times on that extra weight caused by those baggy suits as well.... :p

I don't think he would do better than average if he moves to F1. It would be a little better than a Jordan moving to baseball type thing.

Remember, there is much more to F1 than just driving skill. Then again, after the last GP at Indy, I'd be kidding myself if I think you'd need reminders about that! :p :(

The last part of the warm up lap (standing whilst riding) and his time on the grid prior to the beginning of the race is almost completely occupied by The Doc 'de-wedgifying' or rearranging the wedding tackle inside his Dainese's...it is absolutely an obsessive compulsive disorder, and hilarious. Look for it next MotoGP if they cross early enough...Dainese, being one of his sponsors could surely produce a suit that doesn't prove so uncomfortable....although you do need big cohunas to ride one of those things !
:D.

maybe more so because he's a SPANNER ?

he has always demanded hugely oversized overalls, cause they're comfy, until he gets to the office and tries to do his frickin job.....

remember when he first went to Williams and he was arguing with Patrick Head and trying to put four different springs (rates) on the car like when he was in Champcar on the banking.....

Nah. The doctor said that he is actually exciting himself a little bit in order to stimulate adrenaline right before the race. Seems to be working for him too! :p Then again, I seem to be bull*****ting this thing up....HA! :D

I have seen his pre-race ritual Mark... very interesting, but it is also quite common for Moto GP riders I thought...

... its better than Mark Scaife trying to remove his head out of his ass before he races :D
