: FORUMula ONE!! (Motorsports banter) minigolf Feb 12th, 2006, 08:58 PM Looks sensational, and those high res pics are fantastic. But I'll be surprised if it sees the season out. Someone will complain I reckon. :o
Haha, I knew Canberra's Mark Webber would be better off with that unreliable BMW junk. :p

More this arvo when I have some time. Todd! Feb 14th, 2006, 11:09 PM I think it is actually harder to read the sponsors details on the side of the car with the silver paint.. personally I think it looks tacky. ScottyB Feb 14th, 2006, 11:13 PM Probably is yeah. Depends on the angle.
I feckin love it tho :)
Nowhere near as 'bright' as it was hyped to be either. Can't see it being a problem for other teams - Valencia 14th, was a Sunny/warm test day. ScottyB Feb 15th, 2006, 04:56 AM More pics...

Is it the old Jordan? With the Red Bulls, the Williams BMW Divide and all the other new liveries I havent beeen paying too much attention this year...
Also, I cant get into the whole thing as Melbourne has so much other crap on and the natural progression from Motorshow to GP is not happening for me... I feel off balance :p

A combined total of 3,578 laps have been completed by two TF106s from the first test on 29 November 2005 up to and including the Jerez test on 9 February. That equates to 15,749km, or around 51 Bahrain Grands Prix! doona Feb 15th, 2006, 08:58 AM Tako officially signed to Super Aguri

-Dan ScottyB Feb 15th, 2006, 11:57 PM McLaren-Mercedes team
A senior representative of the McLaren-Mercedes team has admitted that the new MP4-21 racer is not ready to dominate Grand Prix in 2006.
Even with the newly revised V8 engine now up and running, Mercedes' competitor director Norbert Haug said progress at the silver team is currently lagging.
"We are not where we wanted to be in mid February," the German told Auto Motor Und Sport. "At the moment, we are perhaps where we should have been in the middle of December."
The new Mercedes V8, reportedly correcting problems with the inlet system and the pistons, has moved the MP4-21 closer to the leading pace.
But analysts still estimate that, if the Bahrain opener was held today, McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya would finish behind the two Renaults, the two Ferraris and the Hondas.
Haug maintained a similar theme in the Motorsport Aktuell magazine "Some teams are ahead of us. Certainly, we would not mind if we could add another month to our preparation time. But we are doing everything possible in order to be competitive for the first race in Bahrain. We have not had a dream start. We are behind where we want to be." ('high' ressies are from 1200px to about 1800px wide) ScottyB Feb 16th, 2006, 03:55 AM The Williams-Cosworth is emerging a true force in testing as the weeks count down to the first race of the season in Bahrain.
For the second day running the new Williams FW28, complete with seamless shift gearbox, set the pace at Valencia as Nico Rosberg picked up from where team-mate Mark Webber left off on Tuesday.
Fears over the reliability of the new gearbox are beginning to subside for the team and more consistent running time is giving Williams the confidence to explore the car's potential.
Certainly Cosworth is showing signs that its V8 engine has the potential to be a giant-killer.
Kimi Raikkonen will be relieved to find that he was satisfyingly close to the pace in the gorgeous new McLaren MP4-21.
He will have been less pleased however only to have completed 21 laps having encountered more technical problems.
Christian Klien was fifth fastest as he tried out the new Red Bull RB2-B for the first time. The car features new rear aerodynamics and cooling features to counter the team's dire problems before Christmas.
Webber was sixth quickest as he worked on Bridgestone compound choice.
Juan Pablo Montoya completed considerably more laps than his McLaren team-mate as he worked through a long run in the second McLaren.
David Coulthard and Robert Doornbos shared an older Red Bull RB1 and completed only a few laps between them.
Christijan Albers was eighth quickest in the improving Midland, while tester Giorgio Mondini completed the runners.
Meanwhile in Barcelona Nick Heidfeld joined Jacques Villeneuve as BMW worked on tyre evaluations and set-up work ahead of a grand prix simulation on Thursday.

Enjoy :) robbo mcs Feb 16th, 2006, 07:26 AM Hi Scotty,
Thanks for all the awesome photos and updates :D :D :D
Keep it coming ;)
Personally, I love the finish of the macs, from a pure visual point of view :D However, if I was a sponsor, paying a bizillion $'s to get my tiny logo on the car, I would be concerned ;) I think it focuses attention back on the car, and reduces the impact of the logos, which is either a good or a bad thing depending on which side of the fence you sit :D
If I was sponsoring the macs  I might be worried about the performance as well
Cheers
Robbo MickyD Feb 16th, 2006, 07:39 AM I think the macca is clever, but all the reflections make it look a bit busy | |
