No prob :) TeeBee7 Feb 22nd, 2006, 03:03 AM BRING IT ON! I can't wait for this season to start! ScottyB Feb 23rd, 2006, 01:00 AM MF1 Racing Barcelona Test - Day Two
Morning Session
Weather Conditions: Dry with Scattered Clouds, Air Temp. 11̊ C / Track Temp. 14̊ C
Driver: Tiago Monteiro
Chassis: M16-02
Engine: Toyota RVX-06
Fastest Lap: 1'20.387
Number of Laps: 35
Distance: 162 km
Test Summary: Cool track temperatures in the morning limited the amount of meaningful running the team could perform early in the day. Tiago completed some Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) control systems tests, followed by a tyre programme, before handing over to Christijan in the afternoon.
Quote ? Tiago Monteiro: ?I had a short but efficient day. It was very cold in the morning, which cut short the number of laps I could cover today. Once the track warmed up, though, we made a few runs to determine our tyre choices for the first two races. No performance runs today, just checking tyres and control systems.
Overall, I think we had a good performance day yesterday and a good testing day today.
Now, I?m looking forward to shaking down the second M16 next week, and then gearing up mentally for the first race. Bring it on!?
Afternoon Session
Weather Conditions: Dry with Scattered Clouds, Air Temp. 12̊ C / Track Temp. 17̊ C
Driver: Christijan Albers
Chassis: M16-02
Engine: Toyota RVX-06
Fastest Lap: 1'19.300
Number of Laps: 28
Distance: 130 km
Test Summary: The team successfully completed its tyre programme with Bridgestone and is satisfied with the outcome. We believe we are continuing to make good progress in this area.
Quote - Christijan Albers: "It was unfortunate that it was so cold this morning, because it was very difficult to get sufficient heat into the tyres and we lost a lot of track time as a result. I'm glad I could cover the number of laps I did, though and the session went very well.
Tomorrow, we will be running a tyre program with Bridgestone over the course of a complete race distance. Hopefully, there won't be any red flags interrupting the run.
We will probably also attempt a qualifying simulation and continue making adjustments to improve the car." ScottyB Feb 23rd, 2006, 01:01 AM Sam Michael, Technical Director, WilliamsF1:
It was a slow start for all the teams this morning due to a cold and green track surface after yesterday's rain. Mark spent the whole day doing long runs on different tyre casings to look at improving degradation. We made good progress and will continue with this in the short term. Unfortunately, Nico didn't manage to record any timed laps today due to gearbox problems. Both Mark and Nico will be driving again tomorrow. Jammy Dodger Feb 23rd, 2006, 01:06 AM BRING IT ON! -Dan ScottyB Feb 23rd, 2006, 11:50 AM haha Dan :p ScottyB Feb 23rd, 2006, 11:51 AM Rumour around the paddock yesterday was Kimi Raikkonen rejected a new 07 McLaren contract - worth 50 million Euro (!)
Still to be confirmed... Todd! Feb 23rd, 2006, 12:01 PM Geez, you are good on the sig today.. ScottyB Feb 23rd, 2006, 12:23 PM According to reports in the Finnish press, Kimi Raikkonen has turned down a whopping $72 million deal to stay at Ron Dennis' McLaren team. The reportedly rejected contract, which would have seen the 26-year-old Finn earn $24m per year until the end of 2009, will only intensify speculation that Raikkonen is already (secretly) committed to switch to the Ferrari team in 2007. But his reluctance to pen a new Woking pact might also be linked with McLaren's less than shining winter season, not to mention his apparent irritation at Dennis' decision to already sign up world champion Fernando Alonso. Todd! Feb 23rd, 2006, 12:49 PM Ummm, how many world championships has Kimi won? Why would he warrant such a high price? I'm calling BS on this - especially when Alonso has already signed... as if they would pay a number 2 driver than much... enzothemaddog Feb 23rd, 2006, 08:48 PM I reckon it could be true, as he would be pretty p*issed about Alonso coming into the team, which also means bad juju for Montoya!!
I think Kimi has been informed of something very secretive by Todt personally, (Schuey retire, chuck Massa).
In an F1 future where teams like RedBull are doing well off-stage (financially) just bc they are an entertaining team, why would'nt Ferrari will jump at the chance to have a true contender (R) and also a driver that will rake in Gazillions of Lire thru sponsorship and promo deals (R)....y'all know woz I iz talkin bout.....
Teams need more and more money to make a champion these days so why not take a shortcut and already have a champion to rake in the cash and one to win from alll that cash! Win Win situation in my books!
......Im ranting ScottyB Feb 23rd, 2006, 08:53 PM I don't think the issue is Kimi's driving ability - rather the inability of McLaren (or Mercedes) to give him a car consistent enough to win a championship. The fact that they're willing to pay him so much money seems to prove they know he's capable. The fact that he has (supposedly) turned it down seems to prove he knows he's capable, but probably values his chances better at Ferrari - who are well known for their reliability.
Still all speculation at this stage really anyways... | |
