Just received a call that our Mini has arrived at the Dealer in Indianapolis!

We are working out the details now about delivery. They are pretty booked up tomorrow and would prefer us to pick it up on Monday.

QUESTION FOR THOSE THAT HAVE TAKEN DELIVERY!

Does the MA take an extended period of time to deliver a car?

All the cars I've taken delivery on in the past were 15 minutes with the finance person, then 10 minutes inspecting the car and then BAM hit the road.

It almost seemed like she is anticipating a long drawn out process for us to take delivery on the Mini

Can anyone shed light on how long to expect to be at the dealer? We are driving 4 hours to pick up the car and need to budget our time.

Thanks in advance!

Congrats on the delivery! Are you guys going tomorrow to pick it up? I think that the MA will spend about 30-45 minutes with you going over all the little bits you need to know. Post pix when you can!

Finally! My car should arrive tomorrow morning and I'll pick it up first thing Saturday morning. From being pulled off a ship May 5th and waiting at the docks another 9 days to this damn holiday weekend messing up everything... I've about had it with delays :)

w00t! It seems like there will be alot of happy MINI owners on Saturday.

I just left the dealership where I dropped off my programming options sheet and he said that the MINI was THERE!. It's sitting in the back, still wrapped up waiting to be prepared for delivery. It will be Monday afternoon before I can pick it up. Maybe I'll head back over later and take some pictures. :D

What are all of these programming options that everyone keeps talking about?

The way my MA talks, there are only a few options, Open/Close/Partial Open the sunroof with the key.

Follow me home lights - they stay on for 40 seconds after the car has been turned off.

Daytime running Lights.

That's all I've been told that can be programmed.

Give me some details as to what programming options people are getting.

Well, we played hooky from work Friday afternoon and drove the 4 hours to Indy.

The MA stayed an hour and a half after close and we drove back home.

What a great experience!

I'll post pictures tomorrow (Saturday).

What a hoot. They had it under a big cover in the showroom and unveiled it like a work of art for us.

Like I said. Sleep now (1am after almost 9 hours of driving today) pictures tomorrow.

For reference to others still on the boat. Our Mini was unloaded off of the Frisia at Charleston Tuesday. And arrived at the Mini Dealer in Indianapolis on Friday Morning.

See you tomorrow!

Here is what we experienced in the delivery room!

Our Mini was covered and waiting for us when we arrived.

Our MA Rhonda is holding the door open for the delivery.

Real happy with the V-spoke (X-lite) standard wheels!

And ooh! the chrome line exterior adds the chrome mirror caps and all the grill is chromed not just an outline!

Ready To Roll Out!

First picture gives a good look at the wheels and chrome mirrors with the top up.

Next two are with the top down and MA Rhonda explaining features to BobsWife who is sitting in BobsWifesMini!

A shot from the rear, the Anthracite interior blends in well and I like the chrome line interior.

One last shot to see the chrome rear accents, we had never seen the chrome hinges on the convertible on the rear. If anyone cares!

Thanks to Rhonda for staying late for us on her Friday night!

How fitting....the is my 100th post!

Looks very very nice. Though I may be biased since I ordered a DS w/ black bonnet stripes MCSC with anthracite interior. Should be getting mine next Saturday.

That is great!

Which wheels did you get? I am quite impressed with the base 16 inch V-spoke wheels (also called X-lite in the UK)

After we got up this morning we:

1.) cleaned the bugs off the bonnet, bumper, and windshield,
2.) cleaned the brake dust off the wheels (quite a lot for a 280 mile highway drive)
3.) general other cleaning....
4.) took some more pictures in our driveway
5.) met some friends for lunch to show it off
6.) cruised around.

But since you are getting mostly the same colors. Here is our cheap website with more of the pictures from home. (Love that wet tire look)

->-> Click here for more pics (http://webpages.charter.net/roewe) <-<-

Let me know what you think of the pictures.

My wife said the 16 inch wheels seem to add the perfect balance of comfortable ride and great handling. The S really helps the car move out effortlessly with lots of teeth when you need it.

Amazingly quiet inside on the highway for a convertible when the top is up.

The dealer got a couple of the memory options wrong, so hopefully our local dealer will correct them.

If there are any close up pictures of any options or parts, let me know and I'll capture and upload.

Picked up Darth Cooper this morning. We have been out motoring all day and are very tired. We got lots of double takes as we were driving around and it made me smile. I will post some piccies tomorrow as I need to relax for a minute. :D

Car looks great. It is difficult looking at one that is so close to how mine will look. I'm excited and jealous at the same time.

I got the 17" Web Spokes and I hope they look half as good as yours. I'll definitely post pics when I get mine.

Did you put any protectorant on the top yet? I'm thinking that is one of the first things I will do.

I already have my showing off to friends trips planned out along with a road trip so I can eat up my break-in miles.

Being the fellow obssessive MINI (almost) owner, it looks like in the pictures that the left side of your bonnet has a decent size gap compared to the right side. I know I've read that different MINI's have more of a gap then others, but I wanted to point it out just in case something is wrong and you want the dealer to check it out.

Web-Spoke Wheels - My wife and I had never seen a Mini with web-spoke wheels until we picked ours up. There were many at the dealer with the web-spokes and they looked nice.

Protectorant - No, nothing yet, but my wife has been doing all the research on the details. I haven't heard her mention that yet. What product are you going to use?

Bonnet gap - Interesting! I hadn't noticed the gap, so I looked at the picture and there it was! So I just now went outside and checked and there is no gap differential! I'm not sure what is going on there. I know I've had the bonnet up and down several times since that picture was taken. I'll keep a watch on the gap. Thanks.

I was going to use the 303 High Tech Fabric Guard. From other posts on the forum it looks like if you put two coats on the water will bead up and not soak in. I'm not sure if it is really needed, but it makes sense to me that it is something simple to do and probably worthwhile.

Maybe the gap was from opening and closing the bonnet and taking a picture when it wasn't closed all the way. Hope it is nothing.

So here are some pics of Darth Cooper.
1) Sitting in front of my MA's desk. He surprised me with this one!
2) Sold sign (look who the customer is) hehe.
3) Gift from my MA - Revenge of The Sith Scrapbook
4) Outside the dealership - I think the tinted windows look so great in this shot.
5) DC's first road trip (160 miles round trip). There are some choppers that parked near DC. We took pics of the bikes and they asked to see DC. They thought he was a cool little car and asked lots of questions! Mutual admiration society!

So that is all for now, but I am sure I will have more soon. :p

Since your "S" rolled off the production line within a few hours of ours I thought I'd check to see if you have a similar issue that we are having.

After the engine is warm, we get what sounds like belt squeal when the engine is revving over 2500-3000 RPM.

We didn't notice it until driving with the top down.

We've seen an issue raised in the forums like this and the culprit is a slightly mis-aligned alternator.

Doesn't seem to happen when it's cooler outside (like in the morning), but the weekend temperatures here were 94 degrees and we heard it when the temperature was over 90.

Also the brake dust this weekend was voluminous! I sure hope that slows down. Both front and back wheels. I had to thoroughly hand wash the wheels with soap and a sponge on both Saturday and Sunday! I put polish on the wheels last night to try to keep the dust from sticking. Are you getting a lot of brake dust? Obviously more on the front than on the back wheels.

Finally an update on the Procyon Leader. It arrived in Baltimore on the 27th of May (last coast guard contact.) Using the Hudson Leader as reference (Baltimore contact on May 15 and docked in Port Hueneme on May 29) it looks like the Procyon Leader will make it to dock on either Thursday or Friday (Thursday is a possibillity since thre Procyon Leader will probably not be stopping in San Diego as it dissapeared from the list last week.)

Either day it comes in it looks like those of us on or near the west coast will be motoring very soon!

I haven't noticed any squealing, but will keep an ear out for it. As for the brake dust. WOW! There was tons of brake dust on our wheels too. Talking with my favorite mechanic (my husband) he says that it is due to the fact the brakes haven't really "seated" themselves yet and the dust is coming from them as they are going through the seating process.

Considering the fact that the Owner's Lounge is always several days behind whatever the true status of a car is, is it safe to say that my car is already at the dealer (Midwest) even though my MA has not called? Does the Owners Lounge all of a sudden get pinpoint accuracy once the car hits US shores? Its just strange to me that my car has been at "Vehicle Distribution Center" status for several days now....unless something is wrong with it and it really is there because they are fixing it? Oh crap....now I'm worried.

My wife and I picked up our all Astro Black MCC last night and we drove it around all evening. It was great trying to think of places we needed to go just to drive around. The car has exceeeded all of our expectations in the 70 miles we have driven. I can't wait to get off work to drive it even more.

For those of you waiting to pick yours up...It will be well worth the wait.
