10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 abbydog3 May 18th, 2005, 06:09 PM Abbydog3 - Thta is sorta funny, because mine is HB/W. Here are the general specs of mine:
MCS
HB/W
White Alloy Wheels
Sport Package
Premium Package
Convienence Package
H/K Stereo
Sirius Satellite
Grey/Black Leatherette
Checkerboard Sunroof Graphic
Checkerboard Mirror Caps
Chrome Line Interior
Chrome Line Exterior
I'm hoping that the wait for it to get from the VPC to Moritz is very short. I ordered mine on April 26th, and if the shiiping records are correct, then it will be 1 month to the day when my MINI touches US Soil.
That is really cool.
I guess that makes them twins! At least they will be together until they reach their new home.
My specs are:
MCS
HB/W
R98 web spokes
Sports Package
Convenience Package
Cold Weather Package
H/K stereo with MFSW
LSD
Black Leatherette
Chrome Line Interior
HB Interior surface
Anthracite Headliner
Rear fog lamp
Sport Link with bike rack
iPod adapter
I ordered mine on 3/28, so your cards lined up as far as turnaround time.
:)
I wanted the checkerboard mirror caps, but decided that would be a later mod. Yours will look excellent with the CB sunroof graphic. I have wondered if I should have got the white wheels. The CB's and white wheels will look excellent.
I debated on the grey/black seats, but ended up with solid black. Hope the interior doesn't get too dark.
If you pick yours up first and you are up for it, you have got to get a picture of the two cars side by side at the dealer. That would be really cool.
Anyway, I thought I would be a little sad the first time I saw a HB mini after I got mine, but now I am so excited that the first one is my mini's brother.
Cheers. Boondox May 18th, 2005, 11:47 PM We arrived in Latham about half an hour before the dealer opened, but thanks to all the coffee I sent earlier the service department was well caffeinated. My MA went over the paperwork, then spent about 45 minutes with me going over the car itself. First time in my life I'd ever seen a service department with the floor covered in tile!
I finally slipped behind the wheel about 11am and set out for southern Vermont. When I crossed the state line I plugged in Beethoven's 9th, and the final movement hit just as I crested a hill and began a long twisty downhill at 70mph with Ode to Joy blaring from the speakers! It was awesome!
The car handles like a dream, so much so that every time I saw a sign warning of curves ahead I felt like laughing out loud for the sheer joy of it all! It felt absolutely glued to the road, and given the state of the road I was very glad I opted for the MC instead of the S. There were times the pavement was so rough it felt like I was flying thru a storm, but the Mini hung on and handled perfectly!
Here are a couple of pics. More later, but right now I feel like driving! Have fun motoring for the rest of us! abbydog3 May 19th, 2005, 12:21 AM Sounds like a good trip. Glad Nugget made it home. Plus it was fun to hear about your drive home.
Now, as you said go drive, but not too much, because we need more pictures. ;)

So the Nugget has landed.
Several of us are envious, but the end is near.
We are coming to America on the Frisia.
Hobbit, I don't think I heard what ship you ended up on.
Did you make the Emden or are you on the Frisia also? im1hapa May 19th, 2005, 04:28 AM The Procyon Leader sailed today at 10:30am California time, bound for Port Hueneme after some calls at some East Coast ports.
Looked on the online status report...still at the docks waiting.
Called ASK MINI, automated recording said still at the docks waiting.
Spoke to a Rep at ASK MINI, said that their tracking abilities really end at the docks, and that it is up to the Dealership to keep things updated from that point on.
Is what the Rep said the truth, or a line to get me to stop bugging them? Is it really time for me to start bugging my MA for details?
Frustration sets in as I don't see another West Coast bound ship coming into Southampton for the next couple of days. *Sigh* :( nmlacoopers May 19th, 2005, 04:44 AM The Procyon Leader sailed today at 10:30am California time, bound for Port Hueneme after some calls at some East Coast ports.

I don't think it is a line. I got the same response on daily calls to ASK MINI after mine was completed. I wish they could give me the piece of mind that it indeed hitched a ride on the Procyon Leader (also wish the Procyon Leader reported weather.)
My dealer (Sandia MINI) has not been able to give me any more information either. Though they said that I would get a call sometime after it is En Route to confirm any dealer options I may want so they have to know something.
As for the status. I am in the same boat with both systems claiming it is waiting for transport. Anyone out there who has gone through this (preferably on the west coast) able to enlighten us as to if/when the status will change?
The next ship might be the Alioth Leader if I understood the NYK rep (bad cell phone reception made it difficult to understand when I called sometime last week.) It should be due in Port Hueneme on the 11th as well. im1hapa May 19th, 2005, 05:08 AM I don't think it is a line. I got the same response on daily calls to ASK MINI after mine was completed. Please let the Alioth Leader be the one, if the Procyon Leader wasn't! Would be nice to get the express ship! I don't see it on Southampton's list of arrivals as of yet.
Now I'm hoping that Tropical Storm Adrian off the Pacific side of Central America doesn't start playing with my emotions as well! ASK MINI, my MA and the website are enough as it is!! :( MINIjvx May 19th, 2005, 06:25 AM My MCS is on the Takasago. All I know is that it is out at sea, but I can't find any tracking information anywhere about where it really is. I says that it is supposed to be in Charleston on the 26th.
Hope that my MCS gets to Arlington, TX soon. I'm ready to do some "motoring"
I'll be right behind you.
I made it on the Morning Noble. It's supposed to be here June 1st. Hopefully it will get to Arlington pretty quick. MINIGolfer1 May 19th, 2005, 09:45 AM I'll be right behind you.

MINIjvx - That is so cool. I do find it a little odd that you actually placed your order for your MINI about 20 minutes before I did, but yet mine is ahead of yours. Very strange grasshopper!
All I know is that my MA said that once it sailed, it would be another 4 weeks before the car hits the dealership. I can understand the 2 weeks that it takes at sea, but does it really take another 2 weeks for it to get through the VPC and then transported to the dealer?
Now I am left to wonder how long it will take at the dealership for them to get all the things completed that will need to be done to my MINI.
Oh well, as my MA likes to say - we re going to "Make Waiting Fun" :) Boondox May 19th, 2005, 10:27 AM The Procyon Leader sailed today at 10:30am California time, bound for Port Hueneme after some calls at some East Coast ports.

The left coast may be different, but my experience with Nugget was that he "vanished" from MiniUSA completely once he was turned over to the shipping line...but reappeared at the VDC. The person I spoke with at MiniUSA was able to tell me when he reached the VDC but not when he would reach the dealer, so tracking appears pretty sketchy on our home turf. As for the dealer, he knew the car was at the VDC when I told my MA, and while he knew when the vehicle deliveries were scheduled he did NOT know which delivery Nugget would be arriving on. The owners' lounge gave me an estimated delivery date of May 18, and Nugget actually reached the dealer one day sooner than that.
Still, having been given an estimated date of June 21 when I ordered back in April, bringing the little guy home on May 18th was a major bonus! :D
Enough talk. It's bright enough outside for Nugget's first wash. Must remove yesterday's bugs! Pete Hobbit May 19th, 2005, 07:22 PM So the Nugget has landed.

I'm not sure what ship I am on. I talked to my MA this morning (to set up the window tinting) and he told me that we were loaded on a ship and would dock on the 30th of May. What ship...your guess is as good as mine. I was so excited about the news, I forgot to ask. I am going tomorrow though so I can see if I want them to add any tint to the sunroof. Nugget arrived in NY early on a Friday morning, and was at the dealer the following Tuesday morning. Granted, the dealer was only six hours from the port, but still... pb reeechard May 19th, 2005, 10:06 PM Hey all, so my Mini is done being built and booked for the Manon with a departure date of 5/26. Does anyone know if there is any way you might get shipped before that? I only ask because there are 2 WW ships leaving before then and I was curious if I got amazingly lucky that it would get shipped on one of those.
-rich Genevieve May 19th, 2005, 10:12 PM BOONDOX!!
Congrats!! I am so happy for you - and the drive home sounded perfect. Friday to Tuesday seems like a long wait - do they drive these trucks that transport cars on the weekend?
Anyway, have an awesome first weekend with Nugget.
I'm on the Boheme!!!
Left Southampton today, docks in NY on 5/27, I'm hoping to drive it home from the dealer in CT to Philadelphia on 6/4.

Hobbit,
If the arrival date is May 30th, and you do not show up on the WW website when using your VIN, that means you are on the Frisia.
At first I got excited this morning when the Frisia schedule was updated to show that it left Southampton on May 14th. Then upon closer review, I noticed that it left Southampton and then sailed to Germany.
Here is the Link to the schedules that are updated about every 5-6 days.

Here is what you will see...
................................Frisia
...............................V. 120 A
Bremerhaven............MAY.17 A
Southampton............MAY.14 A
Baltimore.................MAY.28
Charleston................MAY.30
The A after the date means actual. Until today it said Bremer first, then Southampton on the 16th. Now it looks like it went backwards to Germany. The May 28 and 30th are expected dates. It is VERY possible that you may get on a different ship. Most of us here were booked on one boat and then flipped over to another.
Seems like more and more cars are going on Kline to the east coast. Nymph May 19th, 2005, 11:13 PM Hello, all!
My Mini was just completed and is now awaiting transport. I am booked on the TAGUS with listed departure date of 6/3. Booking #GBSOU321478 if anyone else wants to check the VIN listing.
I'm making an attempt to stay calm.
Here's Special Agent Cooper's specs:
MCSC-automatic
Hot Orange, Black top
Black bonnet stripes
16" V-spokes all season
Chrome Line Exterior
Premium Package
Cold Weather Package

Dealer is providing floor mats, auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

As of this morning I'm waitlisted on the Morning Noble which leaves 5/20 instead of the Manon which leaves 5/26. So I guess if I get lucky I will get on an earlier ship. Not to be picky, but it is a nicer ship name then the Manon.

We were booked on the Morning Noble while other Minis that rolled out of the factory within an hour or two of us were booked on the Takasago.
Of 490 booked on the Takasago only 230 made it on. Some ended up on the Emden and some on the Frisia both KLine ships. We were waiting for the Morning Noble when suddenly our Vin no longer showed up on WW. Our sales person (MA-Motoring Adviser) told us we were on the Frisia.
You probably won't know for sure until a day or two after your boat sails. We were still booked on the Morning Noble (not even waitlisted) until the 16th when in fact we left on the 14th on the Frisia. So you never know. nmlacoopers May 20th, 2005, 01:05 PM Another call to ASK MINI puts my Cooper S "In Transit"!!!

Hey that is excellent, you ended up leaving the day after me. Knowing that the Takasago arrives in NY tommrrow is killing me. Why does it take so long to go from NY to SC!
I know it will be here b4 I know it.

The Morning Noble was renamed from being called the Tokyo Highway.
It's call sign is 3EDF9.
But it has never shown it's position on any tracking sites. | |
