: June 2005 Production Group goofytruax Jun 24th, 2005, 09:49 PM Just got off the phone with my MA she says it still shows waiting for a boat. Looks like a nother weeks wait. Might get it by the end of next month at this rate. To bad they don't use cargo planes :p But if they did that still wouldn't be fast enough would it. "sigh" Well they did warn that tracking your MINI would be filled with UPs and downs. Stricks Jun 25th, 2005, 02:29 AM Just got off the phone with my MA she says it still shows waiting for a boat. Sorry about the luck there goofytruax! :(
Hopefully you'll get picked up sooner than you think. Until then, we'll all be pulling for you! ;) silverwolf08 Jun 25th, 2005, 02:57 AM the Isolde has finally reached Charleston and my baby is discharged :D
hopefully only about 5-6 days now :) silverwolf08 Jun 26th, 2005, 04:12 AM well dang.. did everyone go and leave me? Lanfear Jun 26th, 2005, 04:14 AM well dang.. did everyone go and leave me?
I'm here. Just waiting for the Don Pasquale to dock today. After that, I'll be completely in the dark about my baby's whereabouts. :( Stricks Jun 26th, 2005, 02:58 PM After suspecting that a truck had already come by, I went by the dealership late last night (after hours so I could snoop around in peace :D), and found out that my MINI has FINALLY ARRIVED!!!
It was parked in one of the back lots, and doesn't look ready to go at all (has packing materials wrapped around things on the interior and what not), but it can be long until I take delivery now! :D
I guess I'll contact my MA on Monday and find out what the plan is. KapS Jun 26th, 2005, 03:02 PM HEy Guys,
DOes anyone know where the Trinidad is right now. I cant seem to find it on the Ocean Weather Website usign the call sign. I might be using the wrong call sign.
Does anyone also know what the call sign of the Trinidad is? jetstar1 Jun 26th, 2005, 10:10 PM well dang.. did everyone go and leave me?
Good heavens no :D
I've been out motoring. I packed two weeks of groceries in the MINI today, and it all fit!
We just returned from taking some more pictures of the car. I'll upload those a little later. Let me see if I can find the Trinidad call sign.
OK, here it is: LAIY4
Here's the page link: http://cgmix.uscg.mil/psix/PSIX2/VesselSummary.asp YQTYYZ Jun 27th, 2005, 12:33 AM Thanks to Lanfear, my MINI appears to be ready for arrival in the next couple of weeks as well.
It's been discharged in Halifax according to the various manifests I've checked. jetstar1 Jun 27th, 2005, 12:51 AM Well, Mina is going to the service department tomorrow.
As I was driving home from work on Friday, I thought I heard a high-pitched whine under the hood. I thought it was just the supercharger kicking in, so I wasn't concerned at first.
Tonight, my husband and I had to drop off Vader (my Silverado SS pickup) at the dealer for an oil change/lube, so we took Mina with us. Hubby said he heard a high-pitched grinding noise from under the hood. I drove her home, and the noise was definitely a loud grinding noise. Hubby doesn't want me driving the car to work tomorrow. (I have a 90 mile round-trip drive.)
I'm hoping it's not too serious, but I'm worried. It's definitely NOT a normal sound for a car that's less than a week old. goofytruax Jun 27th, 2005, 01:40 AM Well, Mina is going to the service department tomorrow.

Well I hope it is not serious. That you not be good. :( silverwolf08 Jun 27th, 2005, 02:58 AM Well, Mina is going to the service department tomorrow.

nooo :( :( :( wingman Jun 27th, 2005, 03:16 AM It's nice to hear everyone is taking delivery now. My car has been in the Paint Shop for the past 5 days per ASK-MINI. This is crazy. wingman Jun 27th, 2005, 03:24 AM Well, Mina is going to the service department tomorrow.

I wouldn't be too alarmed if your car has limited slip diff. You may be hearing the unit when driving slow or creeping. I understand it's a normal characteristic of the LSD. There are several threads on this. It could also be the power steering pump. It is electric and makes a noticeable high pitched whine at low speeds as well. I hope its nothing serious. Very good! Same with my baby. Now we can have a contest to see who gets their MINI first. You game? ;) Threat Jun 27th, 2005, 01:46 PM My MINI was on the Mignon (W&W ship), est arrival in Charleston 7/2, then pushed to 7/6. Now W&W has no record of it. I talked to my MA, his dealership cannot access the MINI site for some reason (it's been like that for 2 weeks). ASK MINI just referres me to my MA. So basically I'm stuck and a bit frustrated.
Does anyone have any other ideas on how I can find out where my car is? rustyb Jun 27th, 2005, 02:55 PM well dang.. did everyone go and leave me?
We wouldn't do that --I have been on a road trip all weekend--no problems to report...
You should be taking delivery very soon?!?! rustyb Jun 27th, 2005, 02:57 PM Well, Mina is going to the service department tomorrow.

I hope it is nothing serious, just a minor adjustment or tweak! Keep us posted. :( I am really sorry this happened to you, and I hope it is a one time blip. musamini Jun 27th, 2005, 05:06 PM Mine arrived in charleston on the same boat as yours, andI live in the Chicago area. Not sure if there's any way to track progress within the vehicle distribution center.
Look, we're almost there! one more port. and i'm hoping that it will actually dock in charleston on the 23rd as originally planned, and not the 24th as the schedule says. because i don't see that it should take 2 days to get there. hmm.
this week is going to drive me insane!
Hey, hey now we're almost home.
I'm missing you to death, but it's all for the best, I know.
Hey, hey we're not far from home. Stricks Jun 27th, 2005, 08:44 PM Just dropped by the dealer and found out that I'll be taking delivery this Thursday, and possibly even Wednesday!!! :D I pushed for Tuesday, but that wasn't going to happen ;)
So hopefully I'll be posting pics by the end of the week!!! goofytruax Jun 27th, 2005, 09:28 PM Well I'm boycoting the W&W and OL til friday. I have been getting to frustrated with them. I found out that my MINI has been sitting on the docks as four different W&W ships left and at least on K-line. I'm ssheduled on a new ship (second time scheduled) that departs the 30th. So I'm going to sit back and not check till friday and not be surprised when it doesn't make the boat. I figer that maybe by the end of auguest I might get my MINI. Oh wait I'm I sounding to pesimistic?
Sorry stuck in MINI tracking overload. The either need to provide more info like why or much less so hopes are not repeatally dashed. jetstar1 Jun 27th, 2005, 09:53 PM According to Princeton MINI, Mina has a bad idler pulley.
I searched our site, and noted that a few MINI owners have had this problem. Princeton has ordered the necessary parts and Mina should be back to health in a couple of days.
Princeton MINI service was very helpful this morning, especially since I came in without an appointment with a sick car. The service manager immediately had someone take her for a test drive and they were apologetic that they didn't have any loaner cars available. (Which is understandable since I came in without an appointment. But I did see them, and one was a MINI Cooper convertible.) They did arrange for a rental car from Enterprise, entirely on their dime.
So we'll see what happens. I'm a little disheartened that it went at 394 miles, but at least I caught it before it destroyed the engine. silverwolf08 Jun 27th, 2005, 11:06 PM Just dropped by the dealer and found out that I'll be taking delivery this Thursday, and possibly even Wednesday!!! :D I pushed for Tuesday, but that wasn't going to happen ;)

hopefully me too! rustyb Jun 28th, 2005, 12:30 AM Here are some pics of my new friend!
Congrats to Stricks and Silverwolf!
Best of luck to jetstar, I hope everything is fixed soon.
Patience everyone else :D goofytruax Jun 28th, 2005, 01:38 AM Very nice Rusty. How many mile you put on her this week-end? silverwolf08 Jun 28th, 2005, 04:04 AM Here are some pics of my new friend!

congrats on your new baby, Rusty! rustyb Jun 28th, 2005, 12:09 PM Very nice Rusty. How many mile you put on her this week-end?
I put about 500 miles of travel in this weekend. I am anxious to get the break-in period over, although I must admit I have accidentially :p been over the 4500 RPM mark... rustyb Jun 28th, 2005, 12:11 PM congrats on your new baby, Rusty!
Thanks, you are next! Threat Jun 28th, 2005, 01:12 PM JEtstar: major bummer, but glad they are taking care of you.
Rusty: very nice and congrats.
Silver: now I can be jealous of you having a delivery date.
I just got my mind meld email asking for my preferences, so I'm hoping the car is somewhere. Still missing from the ship it was on and I can't get any info from my MA or ASKMINI.
and goofy hang in there, it will come. The web sites just aren't updated very frequently. Tracking has/is driven me insane. It will arrive around the time my MA originally said it would. No sooner no later. silverwolf08 Jun 28th, 2005, 02:52 PM Thanks, you are next!
my MA just called this morning and left a message saying my car should be at the dealership tomorrow afternoon and he wants to schedule pickup for Thursday :D :D | |
