Well, we ordered out Mini on 6/16/05 and received a production number the next day. Not sure if I should be posting in this thread though!! The status on the OL says that it is "On Order" and it has been that way since the 17th. Just waiting for it to move to the next step. We were told we would have the car by late July, early August (about an 6-8 week process). Not sure if I am believing that though. Here are the specs:

MCS 6 speed
Hyper blue/Hyper Blue
Gray Leatherette
Sport package
Premium package
cold weather package
Chrome line interior/exterior
LSD

Can't wait to get rid of my wife's other car and replace it with the Mini!!! :)

I think I'm in the last group of June 2005 production since my "estimated completion date is June 30". Try calling 866-ASK-MINI for the real update, since the website won't give you the estimated completion date. It's an automated line - you don't have to talk to anyone. So you don't have to feel bad when you call 15 times a day! No one knows! :)

Speaking of which - the ASK-MINI line just told me something new (hey, I only call once a day now!) It said my MINI was in the paint shop. My estimated date of completion is still June 30. Woohoo! I just thought it would continue to say "In Production" until it was finished.

Anyone else at the same point my MINI is?

Here are some pics of my new friend!

Congrats to Stricks and Silverwolf!

Best of luck to jetstar, I hope everything is fixed soon.

Patience everyone else :D

Rusty, your car is gorgeous! Really awesome looking. I wish you all the best! (Does he/she have a name?) Congrats to Stricks and Silverwolf too!

Mina is still in the shop :(

(I'm actually on the phone with Princeton now, trying to get an update on her status.)

Loxycoon, the automated message on ASK MINI will change again to (I think) "Awaiting transport to port of exit" then "At port of exit awaiting shipment" then "in transport, contact your dealer for more information." That will be the final automated message you hear. The message will switch to "In transport" when your car is on the ship. Sound like your car will be done soon and on its way to Southampton.

Congratulations Stricks. I'll be here waiting a bit longer. The Mini was to arrive at the dealer yesterday, then they'll add the alarm, chrome grill, and clear bra. Then I get to wait for them to truck the car to me (5-7 more days).

I'll be green with envy sittin' here in the June group while all of you are motoring. Sniff! :(

Jetstar, thank you for the kind words--and my car has been named "Spot." I hope that the little glitch with Mina is resolved ASAP, and that there is nothing but smoothing motoring ahead for you! :)

Hi, I am new to the list also. I just joined last week. My Pure Silver MCS Convertible with black top and black bonnet stripes with Cordoba Beige Leather and anthracite interior with automatic transmission (paddles), convenience package, cold weather package, premium package, sports package, 2RE 17” web spoke alloy wheels, rear fog light (so all of the switches would have a toggle in it) and wind deflector was completed on June 18 and based on the WW site got to the docks on June 20 and was to ship on the June 23 on the Trinidad but according to the WW site it did not make it onto the ship. WW said it was rebooked to go out on June 30 on another ship and get to Charleston on July13. I just checked the WW site tonight and it is telling me that my VIN does not show up at all anymore. I went by Century Mini in Greenville, SC on Saturday and ask about it and they said they could not tell me anything other than my Mini was built and that was all they knew. I talked to them again today and they said they had no idea where it is was or might be but guessed it was still in England sitting. Any ideas or suggestions or HELP?

How can I tell if a K Line ship picked up my Mini?

The Mini Owners' Lounge shows it as "Awaiting Transport" and the dealer...

Just wondering.

Thanks,

This entire tracking thing is frustrating. I'm beginning to think it's a good idea to simply wait for the call from my dealer.

My MCS is built...finally after 1 month "on order", 2 weeks "in production", 4 days "in the paint shop" and now sitting on the dock at Southampton. It's been there 3 days which I understand isn't unusual. It showed up Monday briefly on the W&W site to go out on the Isolde and now...nothing. W&W doesn't recognize my VIN now. My booking number has been assigned to other MINIs. My MA has nothing on it (no ship listed). Ask-MINI show it awaiting a ship. Owners Lounge show it at the dock. Maybe it fell off the dock? Maybe it doesn't want to leave the homeland? Maybe I'm just too impatient? Has anyone in this group had a similar experience?

It sounds like it's been bumped and I can look for it in the next couple of months if I'm lucky. In the grand scheme of things, this really isn't too terrible. I know I will get a phone call from my dealer eventually. It would be nice to know things are moving steadily forward instead of a series of fits starts and delays. Sorry for the carping. I wanted to document this and let everyone know not to take this tracking thing too seriously. I'm going to the garage now to find a good project to work on the the next few weeks.

This actually reads like several other experiences documented on this thread. Hopefully, your car is on a K-line ship--but your MA should be able to tell you that information. :(

Wingman I'm in the same position. ASK MINI states my car shipped June 16, that's all they can tell me. It was on the Mignon, doesn't seem to be anymore. My MA hasn't been much help, still tells me he can't communicate with MINI to find out where it is and tells me to hang in there, its coming. The lounge doesn't update, and even when it does it's at least a week behind using vague categories.

Its pretty sad that we can track a package that we spent $5 on sent from a complete stranger, but we can't track a car that we are having built to order in excess of $30k. You'd think that MINI would be bending over backwards giving us daily updates, especially for those of that have been waiting several months for our car.

I'm a bit irritated over the lack of communication.

Update: 10 minutes later..... I called the dealership, my MA was off, and talked to someone else. Apparantly my MCSC is headed to the dealer as I type this. Maybe, if I'm lucky, they can install the options and pass it off before the weekend. Hooray! Its ok if not, at least I know where I stand. I just would have liked a bit more info as I'm selling my car privately and this will make it tough... I've got 2 days, and 2 buyers on the fence.

Wow,
Got the call from the MA, Cobalt is in and already on the rack getting the suspension refitted with the JCW, and R99 in Anthracite. I wasn't planning on taking delivery until July 12 after getting back from vacation. Gosh now he will be sitting all alone in my garage waiting for me to return.

MCS Hyper Blue matching int.
White Bonnet stripes and roof
HK
Limited slip
JCW suspension
R99 Anthracite
fog lights

I'm so excited.

Wingman, you're not carping. Honest. We're here to support you. And you're not impatient.

What I don't understand is this: your car is built and your MA can't tell you where it is? That's unacceptable to me. I saw the tracking system the MAs use, and it didn't seem too difficult. Can you talk to the sales manager at your dealership, and see if she/he can figure out where your car is since your MA is kinda lame??

I agree with Threat, you can track a $5 package no problem, but you need satellites in space and White House level security clearance to get an update on your MINI. I'm surprised they assigned your production number to another MINI before yours is delivered. Is that standard procedure? That doesn't sound right to me.

I may get my car back soon. Hopefully tomorrow or Friday. I'm crossing my fingers. Also, I think I'm changing her name. Another one keeps popping in my head. Is that wrong?

I too am in limbo. I have not checked W&W since sunday when I learned miy MINI had missed 4 ships. I have an e-mail in to my MA asking if I will see it before November and asked if she knew the right person for my MINI to bribe on the docks to get on a boat. I have not heard back yet. Mine also has nothing on the W&W site now. I guess that means a K-line or other shipper has it.

Goofy, I think Sailwx is a voluntary thing. Ships can choose to report or not to report their position. The Trianon (the ship my car sailed on.) didn't report her position on Sailwx. So don't worry if Baltic Highway doesn't report after a couple of days.
