It will be :D

I've waved to many other MINI owners, and only one didn't respond. I think he was confused as to what he should do when he sees another MINI on the road!

i'm hoping these people just didn't see me or something. they were going the other direction, so they may not have heard me.

i did honk at a guy the other night who had a MINI in his driveway. my mom works near there and she said that wasn't his car, but the guy waved anyway. i think it's his housemate's car.

Nice. I like these quite a bit. I will be placing an order momentarily for the mats! Thanks again for the info.

By the way, who installed the pulley for you? I am having a difficult tiime finding someone in the tri-state area (CT, NJ, NY), and was wondering if you have heard of any good places. Can't wait to see pics of your new yellow ride with all of the mods.

Everyone, have a great holiday! :D
Webb Motorsports will loan out the puller with a deposit if you purchase a pulley from them. A friend with experience in pulley changes helped with the install. It's not difficult if you take your time, follow the instructions and have access to the proper tools and jacks. Check with your local MINI club for help in finding an installer or in setting up a pulley party. Pics of the yellow S are a couple of weeks away. The countdown has begun.

rustyb,

Here is a good picture of the mats. They mimic the design of the HVAC controls. I bought mine from a Canadian dealer. They aren't cheap. I payed $120 including shipping and duties. These things will outlast the car though and everyone comments on the unique design.

I've got these mats as well. Very nice indeed...in fact the delaership was very impressed when I walked in with them at delivery. In fact rustyb, if you need a contact, I highly recommend Mike Bougan (Parts Manager) at MINI of Ottawa (parts@elitebmw.com). He was able to get the mats to me here in Texas for $130 USD...shipping, tax, and duties included.

Thanks Stricks!! Congrats on your car, and many happy motoring miles to you. Does he/she have a name?

560 miles logged already...almost have way through the break-in period!!! :D

And yes, my MINI does have a name: Gripper. I'll give you one guess as to why? ;)

Well Baltic Highway should be half way across the Atlantic by now. I wish it was reporting its position. It would be fun to watch it cross. It should make Boston on the 7th. ;)

Wow took a break over the weekend from obsessing and missed alot.

Jet -- Bummer, nothing else that I can say.

Nice to see more people on boats (and waiting for them).

Mine is still at the dist center (alledgedly). Although I can no loner track it on the site (since Thursday it only gives me an option to upload pictures). Friday, or maybe Thursday, is my appointment to pick it up. This waiting thing is tough, but almost over. I may have to take a long drive this weekend to Madison or Green Bay to rack up the miles for the break in period.

i've been trying to get the break in over with too, but it isn't working so well.. there just aren't many places to go and i don't have time for a long trip right now because i have to work every day.lol.

HEy Guys,

My ship TRINIDAD is suppose to be here tomorrow. However I just checked the WW tracking and they said its suppose to arrive on July 2nd.

Anyone on that Trinidad with me

My MCSC is or was on the Trinidad also. It supposedly docked on the 2nd, but when I check the W&W web site it still shows the car as being onboard. Does anyone know at what point W&W updates their web site or how long it takes for ASK MINI to reflect the car's arrival at the VDC?

Thanks!

Well, I think my MINI made it on the Tagus! It says "Loaded on Vessel" and the Tagus left the dock today. Oh Joy! I know it's important to keep checking back over the next two days to make sure it wasn't taken off the ship and left at the dock.

So maybe less than 2 weeks for me!!! :D

After a week of the Mini missing in a black hole, it has appeared at Classic Mini and is scheduled on a truck leaving there on July 11th headed to me in Seattle!. Hoping I have it by the 18th. :)

HEY GUYS

My MINI COOPER S IS ALSO ON THE TRINIDAD AND THE WW SITE HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED. DEESQUARE IM ON THE SHIP WITH YOU. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR THE CAR TO GET INTO THE VDC AND THEN TOO THE DEALER.

MY ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE IS ON THE 12TH OF THIS MONTH BUT I WAS WONDERING IF IN MANY CASES THE CAR ARRIVES BEFORE THE ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE.

Hi Cadfael - You can track Isolde through the W&W site (www.2wglobal.com). I see that she is enroute to Belgium right now and is due to arrive (and leave) Southampton on July 7. You can find this out by searching for your VIN number and then clicking the link for the ship. Or just by searching by ship name. Looks like she'll get in the NY/NJ distribution center on July 15.

I haven't had any luck tracking the Tagus (the ship my MINI is on) on the oceanweather.com website. I just tried to find the Isolde and couldn't find her, either. Maybe W&W ships no longer report to that agency? I think it would be really cool to track the Tagus across the ocean, but I guess it just was not meant to be. My boss will probably be happy since now I'll just spend MOST of the day instead of ALL of the day surfing the sites and thinking about my MINI! :D

EDIT: Oops, Cadfael, I think you are in Texas. In that case, I would guess your MINI will be dropped off in Charleston, SC on July 20, not at the NY/NJ Distribution center... It's a shame there isn't a VDC in Galveston, TX, because that's Isolde's next stop after Charleston!

Couldn't find her on oceanweather either. Was hoping I would but it might be a good thing. I would probably sit in front of the screen and wait for it to get here. Galveston would be great!!! but alas and alack.

The Tagus is in the UK South Coast area right now. The link below will take you to her if you see this within the next few hours. Otherwise, you might have to click around on the map to locate her.

UK South Coast (http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.aspx?Map=UK%20South%20Coast)

The WW vessels don't seem to report marine data until they are further out into the ocean. Once your ship gets away from the coast, you should be able to pull up latitude/longitude on Oceanweather.com and plot it onto a map if you are as obsessed as I was.

If you want to see how obsessed, take a look at my flickr photoset! I'm just dying now that my baby's on the train and I can't do any sort of tracking.

For all of us sailing on the Maersk Teal, have you noticed the two storms queuing up to hit the Gulf coast as hurricanes about the time our cars are to arrive at Charleston? I wonder how this will effect things?

Kaps, thats the date it should arrive at the distribution center, not delivered to you. Add a few days to that and remember its an estimate.

Okay, this is confusing. I called ASK-MINI this morning and my car has now gone from en route to at the port waiting for a vessel. What does that mean? The Trinidad arrived in NY on 7/2 and now magically my car has returned to South Hampton. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

I've suspected that my Mini arrived at the dealership at the end of last week, but was told by my MA that it wouldn't leave the dist center until after the holiday weekend. He also told me that it takes 2 days to travel by truck to the dealership which means the earliest they would have it would be late Weds.

I called today to ask the status (my MA is out on Wednesdays) and talked to another rep. He told me that the car was there. He said that he has me down for Friday delivery. I'm a bit annoyed that I wasn't told that it was in, and that I'm goign to have to wait until Friday to take delivery (I'm currently without a car as mine sold). Once I calm down a bit I'm going to call the sales manager and find out what the holdup is.

On a happy note my Mini is in.

Update: It arrived Tuesday, along with 20 other cars (BMW included). They are trying to get to all of them ASAP and will try to get me in earlier than Friday.

This is about where the breakdown in tracking occurred for me. There was a 1-2 week period where I couldn't find/get any information, then suddenly it was at the distribution center.

If My Mini Arrived On Port On 7/2 On The Trinidad Vessel, Does It Take 10 Days For It To Get To The Distribution Center (since My Estimated Delivery Date Is 7/12).

That's what I suspect will happen. I called the dealer and I was told to give it about a week, but I won't hold my breath.

By the way Threat, nice car you've spec'd out; can't go wrong with a Hyper Blue S convertible.
