The Tagus is in the UK South Coast area right now. The link below will take you to her if you see this within the next few hours. Otherwise, you might have to click around on the map to locate her.

UK South Coast (http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.aspx?Map=UK%20South%20Coast)

The WW vessels don't seem to report marine data until they are further out into the ocean. Once your ship gets away from the coast, you should be able to pull up latitude/longitude on Oceanweather.com and plot it onto a map if you are as obsessed as I was.

If you want to see how obsessed, take a look at my flickr photoset! I'm just dying now that my baby's on the train and I can't do any sort of tracking.

The MINI Voyage (http://www.flickr.com/photos/melindhra/sets/511430/)

Lanfear, you rock (nice /nick, btw). While I haven't managed to find the Tagus (it might already be out of British waters?) the links that you have provided are excellent. I love your slide show, wish I had thought to do something similar. Thanks for feeding my MINI-obsessed habit!

My MINI should get in at the VDC in NY/NJ next Wednesday (12) and I hope to take delivery about a week after that. Now that I think it's safely on a ship, I probably need to concentrate on selling my current car! Snobby BMW dealership won't take my Mitsubishi in on trade - they only take MINIs or BMWs. *sigh*.

Okay, this is confusing. I called ASK-MINI this morning and my car has now gone from en route to at the port waiting for a vessel. What does that mean? The Trinidad arrived in NY on 7/2 and now magically my car has returned to South Hampton. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

Dee, it might mean that your car is at the Jersey City port, waiting to get to the VDC.

Sometimes the ASK MINI message gets tripped up while it's updating, and goes back to an old message. That happened to me.

When the system updates, then it reads correctly. Try calling back in a few hours, and it should be correct.

MINI still at Princeton. They apparently "alleviated" the noise yesterday, and are driving it around making sure it still doesn't make the noise.

I don't need them to "alleviate" the noise, I want them to "eliminate" the noise :D

What have I done to deserve this!?!

Stricks, PW/B was our second choice. I love the combo! The only reason for not getting it was because our other car is white and the garage needed a little variety.

I just received a nasty call from the sales manager of M-Manhattan. She was upset because I gave them poor ratings on the survey we were asked to complete, but I explained to her why i felt justified (misinformation on options from day 1, 3 different price changes, incorrect floor mats, filthy upon delivery, none of the options I requested programmed, I specifically told them NOT to drill through the bumper for the front plate--and of course they DRILLED THROUGH THE FRONT BUMPER, no fuel at 1st attempted delivery, I had to schedule a second delivery and the car was still dirty--inside and out, etc.) . Simple, if they did not want a poor survey, they should not have provided poor service...

JS, Hope the problem is fixed once and for all!

Hi rustyb - went through a similar situation when my boyfriend purchased his car last month. When the customer satisfaction people called, I said frankly that "no, we aren't happy". Of course, the dealership called and jumped all over us to fix it after that. And after a few calls to the General Manager, they did (new paint job, interior work, etc).

While sharing that story at work, my co-worker's father is the General Manager of an auto dealer (Honda, *sigh* not MINI) and he said that no one makes any money on the vehicle (no commision, no bonus checks, etc) unless they get excellent ratings on the customer satisfaction survey. So what they should have done was find out how they could make it better for you, since they obviously now can't fix any of the things that went wrong. Can they throw in extra maintainence? Maybe some upgraded floor mats, etc to try to apologize and make you a happy customer. If they haven't done that, go ahead and request something - say extended warranty - and tell them if they do that, you'll let customer service know that you are now happy with the dealership.

Of course, I also believe that you should just stand by what you said. Money or freebees doesn't make it right and doesn't excuse the service you received. Perhaps it is better to just let them have the poor rating and zero commission on your car as a point that they should really improve their level of customer service. Your choice!

Thanks. I did not want to be malicious, and I honestly felt bad when I learned about the lost $ that accompanies poor survey results, but the service was the worst I have ever received. As far as the dealership rectifying the problems, they never offered. I suppose because it is such a high volume operation, they are not concerned with one upset customer. I always give others the benefit of the doubt, but this time I was just too upset to let these things slide.

Even though interacting with the dealership was not pleasant, I am still happy with my MINI. I hope your wait is coming to end, and that you are motoring soon :D

KapS,

My Mini arrived at the VDC in Charleston on June 20th and didn't appear at the dealer until June 29th, I would think you shouldbe getting a Estimated Delivery Date in the Owner's Lounge any time now.

I was looking at the booking info on the Isolde that my MINI is supposed to be loaded onto today. It hasn't shown as being in port yet but I did notice an asterix next to my car. They were on several last boat it was booked on (but not mine) but missed. Anybody know what this means? (I'm selfishly hoping it means it's at the top of the list ;) )

Hey RedCupr

I have an estimated delivery date of 7/12. But after reading alot of the stuff in the Delivery FAQ and forums, people said it only takes 1-2 days in the VDC. I dont understand how my mini can be in New York for 8-9 days. Is the estimated delivery date dead on to when I will receive the mini.

Had the same problem on a car I had in college that didn't like the hang tag. I used a sucking cup hook that I got in the bookstore. Maybe it'd work for you too.

This is really strange, guys! Do you think someone has just not updated the website properly? Maybe both of you jumped on the Tagus with me - I know you were waiting in Southampton with my MINI when I was loaded on the Tagus and someone just didn't udpate something?

Or maybe you've been picked up by the ever elusive K-Line ships? I am really really feeling for you. I was considering having my Aunt in England pick up my MINI and FedEx it to me! But that would have cost more than I paid for the car, but I might have had it overnight! LoL.

This is rediculous, guys! The next W&W ship doesn't sail until July 12! That means I think at least Girasole has been on the dock in Southampton for a week and a half! Surely they don't even have the room for that! I'm upset for you but yet I keep thinking that you must have been picked up or will be picked up on some ship prior to July 12 (Maersk Tide)

Sadly, an asterix means you have been waitlisted by W&W for another ship. :(
