Never heard of it. What's in it?

The kit comes in a black and red box, and contains:

1) Two car bingo cards (You close off a square when you see highway signs or cows or something like that)

2) Business cards with pictures of MINIs on them. Apparently you hand them to friends, family and gawkers so they can get their own car and leave yours alone;

3) A journal for your driving impressions;

4) A pen with a sliding MINI built into the cap. I love these pens, and this one writes really well. They should put more of them in the welcome kit;

5) Some fluff catalogue about the joys of open motoring. Eh;

6) MINI tattoos. Yep. They're peel-off stickers that you put on your body, then go out and get a tan. When you peel them off, the pattern remains. The hubby thought they were totally daft. He refused to try one;

7) MINI window cards. One is an emergency card. Another one says "Put down the cellphone and drive," or something like that. That's pretty useful in New Jersey :D

Goofy, I hope your car is fixed very soon. And Cadfael, I agree with you. I hate when my car is even slightly dirty :eek:

I received my MINI Welcome Kit last week. Did anyone else get one?

i got the pen, the journal, the business cards, the bingo games, the "messaging kit",unauthorized owner's manual, owner's lounge sign up thing, roadside assistance card.. that's all i think.


it was all very nifty, but i have to admit i was a tad disappointed. i dunno, i guess i just expected something with a bit more substance. although, i guess they have to send out tons of those things.

Got some cards from my MA today. I'd asked her to send me some because every 2-3 days somebody asks me about my car and where I got it. I figured it was in her best interest to send me some. She said she'd send me a new keyring because my came unscrewed after the first week and I got tired to screwing it back on everytime I drove. Didn't get that - oh, well.

I got Sith back on friday. He is good as new.

I got my welcome kit on Monday. It was cool but you are right it was a tad light. When we got our SUV we got two folding chairs. So comparing the two the MINI was a little light.

I think the convertible owners get the tatoos.

Well semi unrelated. I get to pin on my new rank tomorrow. My official promotion date is Thursday the 1st but I get to pin on the new rank at the end of the day on the 31st. It is semi related because getting promoted was why I got my MINI. I am being promoted to Major.

Everyone who gets a MINI gets that kit I take it? How long did it take for everyone to get it? I was in the July Prod. Grp. and got my MINI 8/13...how much longer would I have to wait to get my kit? :eek:

I'm going in the Army sometime (whenever they find the paperwork).

OK: Who has put the most miles on their cars? I have nearly 4,500 on mine, and I got him in June!

definitely not me. i am just now approaching the break in of 1,250. i am at 1205 or so right now. i'm trying to save on gas. :(

You got me whooped. I think I'm approaching 700. When you only live a mile from work the miles go up slowly.

We had a formal part and a party for the pining on. They read the promotion order and then my Squadron commander gave me the oath. After the oath my dad and wife pinned on the new rank. Well actually they revealed it. I was in my flight suit and the rank was sewn on my shoulder with the old rank tacked on top of it, they just pulled the old off and I was a Major.

For the party we had a cake, veggie tray, meatballs, chips and cheese dip, and grapes. To drink We had coke, punch and beer. I was going to jet a pony keg but the price was the same for the keg or the same amount of beer in bottles so I went with bottles go get variety and to help with left over. (got about 6 different Sam Adams, 2 Boulevard, and a Sierra Nevada)

Just hit 1900. Climbed a lot with a 300 mile (one way) trip to the metroplex.

StitchMINI, I would estimate that it took about a month for me to receive my welcome kit. Might have been less. The only thing I use over and over again is the pen! They could have sent me a boxful of those and kept the tattoos!

The MINI is going to have more miles now. My husband's daily driver car (1990 Oldsmobile) finally conked out. :( So hubby is driving Vader, my Silverado SS pickup, to work until he finds another beater car. He can put the $68 in to fill the gas tank now.

Goofy, congrats again on the promotion. The ceremony sounded really wonderful.

Well I finally hit 1000 today. I pulled in to my drive way right at 1K. My wife took it to do some shopping so It should be over 1250 when she gets back. Just kiding our towns not big enough to put 250 on the car in an afternoon.

Did any one else get Sat/Nav with their MINI? If so which Nav disk did you get. I got the 2003 map disk and I'm still pretty steamed about that. Just wondering if anyone has gotten them to fess up to the 2005 map disk.

well I guess complaining helps. Emailed my my MA and we told I'm at the top of the list when the new disks get to the dealer. We will see.......

And everything is swell. Put a lot of miles on it driving back and forth from the Panhandle to the Coast.

We just had a cold front pass through. I drove to work with the top down and the temp said 49. My wife saw me driving with the top down and started laughing because I had started her car to warm it for her and she was still cold. Here I was driving with the top down. The heated seats were nice. My ears got a little chilli during the drive but other then that it was very nice.

Well I have almost made it past the break in. I think I'm the slowest one in our job. But they have been really fun slow miles. It is funny how fun the car is at 15 and 25 mph. I like just turnning 90 degrees with out slowing.

My MINI is going to hit 6,800 miles this week :eek:

I've been driving the MINI more because gas prices were as high as $3.49/gallon for premium here. Now that the price is falling to $2.67/gallon, I can take Vader, the Silverado SS out more, and keep some miles off the MINI. The MINI did get a break for a couple of weeks because of the terrible rains here.

Still having a blast with the MINI. Is everyone still in love with theirs?

I still get the goofy grin driving it.

By the way I got a stencile yesterday from MINIUSA. It says MINI parking only. There was also a letter telling me to go stake out a space for my soon to be MINI. either MINIUSA is sending me a second car or they were a little late with the mail.

i'm goin pretty slow on the miles.. just hit around 2500 i think. i try to drive as little as possible because i'm a poor college student.lol. :rolleyes: but i got a new job that is fairly far away compared to my old one, so the miles are gonna be racking up more now.

i love to drive Callum, i just can't afford gas! :(
