: June 2005 Production Group Threat Nov 19th, 2005, 09:15 PM I've forgotten to check this thread in a while. As of today I've got 3,200ish miles. I did some Dinan alterations to my MINI and boosted the HP a bit. It really takes off and sounds even more spectacular (just got it back today). Other than my initial supercharger pulley issue I've had no problems, no squeak issues or roof wear. Jetstar is everything still fine with yours?

Threat, my MINI (now nicknamed R2 to match Lord Vader-My Silverado SS pickup) is doing very, very well. I'm approaching 7,700 miles.
My only gripe is rock chips on the windshield (are the MINI windshields the THINEST THINGS IN THE PLANET? I've already had to have a chip patched by the glass people. Plus, I've had the difficult engine start in less than 37 degree temperature. Once the car warmed up, it was good to go.
I still have the squeaks, but I think the cupholder is the main noisemaker. The roof looks pretty good. I've had worse wear on my Ford Mustang convertible. :D
The MINI still attracts lots of attention, and like Goofy, I can't help smiling when I drive it. He makes my hour and 20 minute commute to work a lot of fun. If I had more room in my driveway (and won the Mega Millions) I'd buy another one. silverwolf08 Nov 27th, 2005, 04:07 PM Threat, my MINI (now nicknamed R2 to match Lord Vader-My Silverado SS pickup) is doing very, very well. Dear Valued MINI Owner:
MINI is committed to delivering the ultimate in product satisfaction to you, our customer. Our records show that you are the owner of the MINI Cooper Convertible refered to above.
MINI division's quality monitoring has revealed that the convertible top wiring harness on your vehicle may have been routed incorrectly. This may result in damage to the electrical wiring harness and to consequential failure of the electric convertible top operation. In the event of a failure it would only be possible to open or close the convertible top manually.
To ensure that your vehicle is in perfect operating condition, we would like to inspect the wiring harness routing and repair it if necessary. Please contact your MINI dealer's Service Department for an appointment to have this work performed without charge for parts or labor.
Sigh...first a belt tensioner issue and now the wiring harness. silverwolf08 Jan 13th, 2006, 06:34 AM Wiring Harness-Convertible Top

aw, maybe yours won't have the issue. jetstar1 Jan 22nd, 2006, 12:15 AM aw, maybe yours won't have the issue.
Boy I hope so
I haven't taken the MINI to the dealer yet for the recall fix. Since the weather has been kinda nasty in NJ, we didn't see the urgency in having the work done. (However, I had the sunroof open a bit yesterday-Friday :D It was awesome.)
I'll keep you all posted on the repairs. silverwolf08 Feb 21st, 2006, 02:38 AM Boy I hope so

Sorry wolf, I've been preoccupied with buying a house. What a headache  But it's almost over.
I haven't taken the MINI to the dealer yet for the recall thing. I have almost 11,000 miles on, so I'm due for my first service in a few weeks. I'll have them check the car out then, including the wiring harness. I haven't had any problems with the top so far, thank goodness. silverwolf08 Apr 2nd, 2006, 03:10 AM Sorry wolf, I've been preoccupied with buying a house. Thank you :D We are beyond excited. It's the first house we've picked out and bought together. We've taken the big step to adulthood!
Well, I've decided to change the MINI's name for the last time. Her name is Diana.
Sadly, Diana got ANOTHER ping in her windshield today  A nice big ping, and I wasn't following a truck this time! I just had the windshield replaced a little over two months ago. UGH!!! silverwolf08 Apr 14th, 2006, 01:51 AM Thank you :D We are beyond excited. It's the first house we've picked out and bought together. We've taken the big step to adulthood!
