: June 2005 Production Group redcupr Jun 13th, 2005, 08:29 PM The fact that W&W's site is showing our cars does seem a bit odd -- even more odd that it shows them being assigned to a different ship 7 days after it left the port.
And no, even with the Bill of Lading number (courtesy of my MA), I can't track the car via K-Line's website. The site says that tracking is only for containered cargo -- not sure if that includes the MINIs or not. Maybe redcupr has had better luck?
7 days and counting until my MINI hits the port in Charleston. Woohoo! :D
I've had no luck in tracking the MINI in transit via K-Line's website. I'll Just watch this link until next Monday:

Thanks to jetstar1 for introducing it into the June Production thread! redcupr Jun 13th, 2005, 09:57 PM Yes, Thank you Mr. Jetstar. I had to dig back through the thread to find that link and the others. I've killed a few hours of my life looking at all those links.
After all, it's just a car right? NOT!! jetstar1 Jun 13th, 2005, 10:03 PM No kidding, rustyb!
BTW, AprilWhine was right, in that a K-Line ship picked me up, instead of a WW. Lesson is...ALWAYS trust AW :D
I second that :D
Congrats to those on the K-Line ships! Make sure you write down how you track your car on a K-Line ship so we can share the info with the other production threads.
Also, maybe we can put together a timeline of our cars (from order to delivery) to help other threads.
I'm still holding out hope that my car will arrive earlier than my MA estimated. :) I'm ready to motor (and save some gasoline moolah by not driving my Silverado SS truck everyday to work! OUCH) AprilWhine Jun 13th, 2005, 10:11 PM Yes, Thank you Mr. Jetstar. I had to dig back through the thread to find that link and the others. It's true, I'm a car-mad woman!!
Mr. Jetstar has read this thread over my shoulder many times, and he's quite amused. Great Link Thanks! goofytruax Jun 13th, 2005, 10:29 PM ok this may be a stupid question but I can't find the answer. Were do you find your Mini's code status? When I look on line I get the waiting production, when I call ask mini I get scheduled for production with estimated completion of the 18 and when I talk to a ask mini person they tell me the same thing. So how do I find out if it is in the pait shop or the assembly area? AprilWhine Jun 13th, 2005, 10:32 PM It's true, I'm a car-mad woman!!

Not a stupid question at all.
To get the code and status of your car , ask the ASK MINI customer representative. You can ask them what the status code is, and most of them will tell you. Also, just ask them whether your car is in the paint shop, in assembly, in quality control, or has left the factory. They will tell you that.
You can also ask your MA for the status of your car and the codes. They are hooked up into the BMW/MINI system, and can check.
The codes are posted on the FAQ portion of this Web site. Here they are. I hope they're still current

There is an excellent review of the order tracking process under the FAQ & DIY section, which is located right next to "User Control Panel" on the main menu bar above. It brings you from start to finish. Welcome to the thread. :D redcupr Jun 13th, 2005, 11:45 PM I believe you meant Ms Jetstar

Oh! Do forgive. My "fo-paw".
In response to earlier posts: I am keeping a log of milestone dates of my MINI experience, so perhaps I can be of help to those that order in the future.
Again, I apologize Ms. Jetstar. goofytruax Jun 13th, 2005, 11:53 PM There is an excellent review of the order tracking process under the FAQ & DIY section, which is located right next to "User Control Panel" on the main menu bar above. It brings you from start to finish. Welcome to the thread. :D
Yes I read the FAQ but missed were to get the code. When I called Mini they gave the title but not the code so I got confussed. I am code 150 have been that way since the 8th. jetstar1 Jun 14th, 2005, 12:04 AM Oh! Do forgive. My "fo-paw".

You're right, the MINI2 FAQ doesn't inform you about how exactly to get that code. My suggestion: call ASK MINI back, talk to a customer rep. (not the automated system), and ask specifically for the status code -- they should be perfectly happy to give it to you. :) Stricks Jun 14th, 2005, 01:51 AM From the NY/NJ port link:

That's awesome jetstar1! Sounds like the old boat is right on track. 06/16 huh? I'm so jealous! :p rustyb Jun 14th, 2005, 07:14 PM Does anyone else have a MA that is clueless  ? Every time I have spoken with my MA, I am the one giving her updates--shouldn't it be the other way around?!?! First she was unaware of new upholstery options--I was told that the new tartan red and black interior would come with red door panels and carpet, which it clearly does not  -- now it is the tracking...
Time to find another dealer for service...
Congrats to everyone who knows what is going on with their vehicles! :p silverwolf08 Jun 14th, 2005, 08:21 PM Does anyone else have a MA that is clueless  ? the MA who actually put my order in is really good, but the guy that i'm usually in contact with is new there and completely clueless also. i know more about where my car is than he does. it also kinda bothers me that i don't really HAVE an MA. it's like.. whoever isn't busy deals with me. i wish i could just have Mo and have her do my stuff, because she knows what's going on. David definitely does not. rustyb Jun 14th, 2005, 11:16 PM the MA who actually put my order in is really good, but the guy that i'm usually in contact with is new there and completely clueless also. i know more about where my car is than he does. it also kinda bothers me that i don't really HAVE an MA. it's like.. whoever isn't busy deals with me. i wish i could just have Mo and have her do my stuff, because she knows what's going on. I understand the frustration. At least you will be taking delivery soon, and hopefully these painful days of waiting will be a distant memory. jetstar1 Jun 15th, 2005, 12:37 AM the MA who actually put my order in is really good, but the guy that i'm usually in contact with is new there and completely clueless also. i know more about where my car is than he does. it also kinda bothers me that i don't really HAVE an MA. it's like.. whoever isn't busy deals with me. i wish i could just have Mo and have her do my stuff, because she knows what's going on. Oh yeah, been there...still there. :D
I think my frustration has been with ASK MINI and the customer service reps. My MA has been good so far. ASK MINI drove me over the edge.
I wanted to throw the phone out the window many times after speaking to them. I can understand the limitations on the information they have access to, but for cryin' out loud, get the information straight and accurate across ALL of the customer representatives!!
I'm waiting to see how this "estimated delivery date" thing pans out. That will be the next meltdown. silverwolf08 Jun 15th, 2005, 05:12 AM Oh yeah, been there...still there. :D

at least you have an est delivery date.. the OL still has me listed as "awaiting transport" or whatever.. not even en route. so i don't have a date yet. but i should have mine by July 1, if nothing goes wrong. that's what Mr. Clueless Guy said anyway. Threat Jun 15th, 2005, 12:45 PM Silver I'm on the dock with you at the moment. The ASK MINI person I spoke to yesterday told me they are going to start referring people to their MA once the cars load on the ship. That way it will 'reestablish relations between the owner and their MINI Advisor'. As long as you have a good advisor its a great idea.
So far mine has been really good, although when I asked him if there was a number I could call to track my car's progress he said no, but he would be happy to help, and he did. So I alternated days calling him and ASK MINI until I hit the dock.
Lets keep our fingers crossed for a fast, safe load of our MINI's and smooth sailing once loaded. Caz Jun 15th, 2005, 01:07 PM Mine just finished production yesterday, so my MCS isn't showing up on the tracking page yet. All those folks on the east cost are so lucky with their short 4 week wait! Where stuck with an additional 2-4 weeks. :(
Hi, I live in Southampton and just saw a load of lovely MINIS heading for the docks. One particularly caught my eye - a beautiful red MCSC bound for the USA. Was that yours? - if not, maybe your car was on there anyway.....hope so.
Caz ;) rustyb Jun 15th, 2005, 02:15 PM the MA who actually put my order in is really good, but the guy that i'm usually in contact with is new there and completely clueless also. i know more about where my car is than he does. it also kinda bothers me that i don't really HAVE an MA. it's like.. whoever isn't busy deals with me. i wish i could just have Mo and have her do my stuff, because she knows what's going on. I had the same experience. Very attentive until you sign the dotted line, and then you are on your own. I find it hard to believe that customers (us) know so much more about products than the sales staff (MA). This does not seem like a great business model. Waiting for the cars is difficult enough, but just like jetstar said--it would be nice if there was consistent information. I called my MA yesterday, for only the second time since ordering the car--I do not feel as though I have been "hounding" her, since the W&W site indicates my vehicle was loaded on the 11th and that is what ASK MINI instructed me to do--AND SHE STILL HAS NO CLUE. Every time I have asked her a question I get the same response--"Really, you can do that, where did you find that information?" The response is always the same, "FROM THE MINI USA WEBSITE, MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE A LOOK SINCE YOU ARE SELLING THE CARS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I really hope that MINI of Princeton is better than MINI of Manhattan--please tell me it is better jetstar, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This thread is a great way to deal with these issues together. I must admit that it has made things easier. I am looking forward to the day when people start taking delivery and posting pics! Stay strong :p ... rustyb Jun 15th, 2005, 02:19 PM at least you have an est delivery date.. the OL still has me listed as "awaiting transport" or whatever.. not even en route. so i don't have a date yet. but i should have mine by July 1, if nothing goes wrong. that's what Mr. Clueless Guy said anyway.
I am still listed as "Awaiting Transport," as well--even though ASK MIN and the W&W site (four days ago, actually) indicate that I am loaded and traveling towards NJ as I type. I have found the OL, up to this point, virtually worthless. goofytruax Jun 15th, 2005, 03:29 PM finally I have moved to the body shop! That would be so cool if it was, but my red MCS isn't a convertible. :( Too much rain in my corner of the world to truly enjoy it. But it should be at the docks by now, so you probably saw some part of it somewhere in the corner of your eyes!

I'm already on a ship. my baby left on the Isolde on June 11th. but the Owner's Lounge is lagging in its info, so it just doesn't have an est deliv date for me yet. only 2 weeks till he's mine! | |
