Wow - you are going to have to find a hobby or something. There is NO way that I could wait that long. I pick mine up next Saturday, which will be eight weeks from order to pickup, and it has made me crazy. Your MINI sounds very sweet though! I considered the LSD (I'm still not used to saying that) myself, but ended up ordering mine without it. Kind of wish I had, but I felt like I already had too many options (if there is such a thing as too many). Well, hope you get some company in your production group thread soon. Hope your wait goes by quickly!
Debbie silvertoy Apr 11th, 2005, 08:05 PM Ordered Mine Thursday, 4/7/05 and got a delivery date estimate of early June. I called ASK MINI (who is significantly more helpful than my dealer) today and they said it's in production and that it should be complete by the 4/21. Then an estimated 2-4 weeks to ship it over here. So I'm hoping it's closer to 2 ;)
Yeah, East Coast too.
Oh yeah, specs.

MINIofMansfield May 11th, 2005, 10:39 PM I placed my order on May 3rd with MINI of Dallas, and got word yesterday that I'm schedule for production in the 23rd week! Seems a bit away, but I'm sure I'll cope :D .

Black Bonnets
Gray/Black Cloth Seats
Anthracite Interior and Headliner
Chrono Pack

Welcome to the thread! :D Sounds like a decked out MCSa!
All's quiet around here lately, but I suppose that's because we're all waiting for production to begin. The days go by soooooo slooooooowwww... ;)
- Stricks (formerly known as MINIofMansfield) Lanfear May 27th, 2005, 01:39 AM I'm new to the forums, so I hope this is the right thread.
I ordered my MCS on May 24th. The delivery date is estimated to be the 3rd week in July. The SUV I have right now is leased and has to be returned to the dealership (or sold if I can find a buyer) on June 29th, so I'll have to find some other way of getting around until the MINI comes in. Hopefully the H/K doesn't delay things like I've heard other people mention.
I'm not sure how I can survive for the next two months! I guess I'll just have to visit all of the MINI dealerships in the Toronto area and go for test drives every couple of days to get my MINI fix. I can always wear a wig so they don't catch on too fast! I also took a BMW Z4 out a few times. That too helps curb the MINI cravings a bit.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy so far. I went to the "Test Fly a MINI" event at Downsview Airport in Toronto and I got a voucher for a free iPod and interface to be installed. It was a good deal, since I planned on buying the car anyway. Stricks May 27th, 2005, 05:11 PM I'm new to the forums, so I hope this is the right thread.

Welcome to MINI2! From the sound of it, you're definitely in the right thread. Oh, and being 3.5 weeks into my estimated 8 week wait to take delivery, I can tell you that the wait is killer, but a lot of fun at the same time. ;) Stricks May 27th, 2005, 05:13 PM BTW my fellow June builds, I called ASK MINI last night to check the automated system for my MINI's status, and I've finally been given a definite build date: June 6.

Oh I know ... it's killing me already! That's not good, since it hasn't even been a week yet. But where are my manners?! I should have said what I'm getting since my signature doesn't seem to be showing up.

the wait is a killer! :eb: jetstar1 May 31st, 2005, 10:18 PM Since my MCSC didn't hit the build estimate in May, I'm joining the June thread. Hello everyone!
Here are my stats:
We ordered our MCSC on April 23 in Princeton, NJ. It's Cool Blue, with Blue soft top, dark blue interior with orange stitching, Cold Weather, sport and premium packages, black bonnet stripes (still iffy on that-my hubby chose it.) 17" bullet wheels with run flats.
The car sat in "on order" status on the OL for a little over a month. What a miserable wait that was!
On May 24, the status switched on the ASK MINI automated message system to "in production with an estimated completion date of June 4th." The OL posted my VIN number on that date.
However, the actual build process has not started yet! Apparently, "in production" status just means the plant has programmed the machinery to build your car when it gets into the assembly line! UGH! I've been told that it can take 3-4 days to actually build the car, and the process zips along...when it actually starts.
So I wait some more :( redcupr Jun 1st, 2005, 12:32 AM Just got back from a Memorial Day Weekend road trip, called ASK-MINI and found out my MCSa is in production and has a June 5th completion date!
Woohoo!! jetstar1 Jun 1st, 2005, 05:21 PM I called ASK MINI today, and the customer rep told me that my car is in the paint shop! Wow.
Yesterday, ASK MINI said the car was still "in production" mode, and hadn't hit the assembly line, and now it's in the paint shop! :D aDeLoreanGuy Jun 1st, 2005, 06:59 PM Woohoo, I just talked to a customer rep and was told my MCS starts production on Monday! After a month of the ASK MINI system telling me that there was no production date, I knew something wasn't right.
After putting my deposit down in November, I've had a hard time waiting. But I guess that's the price I pay living on the west coast. At least I paid MSRP.
Here are the stats:
05 MCS Chili Red w/ white roof & bonnet strips
Premium/Convenience packages
Chrono Pack
DSC
LSD (of course)
Fog lights
Arm rest
HK
Granted it's a boring color, but I bought the Mini to drive, not look at! :) Exlotusboy Jun 1st, 2005, 09:46 PM Hi everybody,
After reading all of the June production replies, I figured I'd check the status of my Cooper S order. Although I've been told that a date had been set (June12th), the automated system told me otherwise. It told me no date has been set yet. :( Oh well...
Anyways, for the record, I've ordered Jet black/white roof & mirrors with grey cloth, cruise and 17" S-Lites (silver). It'll be interesting to see how long it takes to get it. Does 6-8 weeks from production completion sound right?
Look forward to chatting with you all! jetstar1 Jun 1st, 2005, 10:51 PM Eight weeks you lucky ***!!!

Dorian: I checked with ASK MINI customer rep today, and my car is still in the paint shop, but may move into the Assembly phase later today. After waiting so long for it to begin, I can't believe the actual production is moving so quickly.
I'm crossing my fingers that my car makes it on the W&W ship that sails out of Southhampton on June 7th. rustyb Jun 2nd, 2005, 07:36 PM Hello,

I am getting a little antsy, and envy those who have received delivery! I guess I will give the Mini "hotline" and get an estimated date for production completion. jetstar1 Jun 3rd, 2005, 12:17 AM My car has moved into the assembly phase. :D Hopefully it will be done by June 4th!! From what I've seen and heard, it looks like 4 weeks is the average build date to delivery date time period. Anyone care to correct? jetstar1 Jun 3rd, 2005, 03:24 PM From what I've seen and heard, it looks like 4 weeks is the average build date to delivery date time period. Anyone care to correct?
That sounds about right. That would be close to the estimated time that my MA said for delivery. I think the west coast might be a little longer?
According to ASK MINI automated, my car is now "in transit to the port of exit." :D :D :D Stricks Jun 4th, 2005, 03:04 AM Progress! My MINI has made it into the paint shop, and is still scheduled to be completed on June 6th! :D jetstar1 Jun 4th, 2005, 01:00 PM New message from ASK MINI:
"Your vehicle has been released to a carrier and is awaiting transportation to the port of exit."
I think this is a good sign. I guess my car is on a truck, waiting to go to Southampton. Perhaps it will be there by Monday?
My car started on the assembly line on June 1st, was finished and awaiting transport on June 3, and now has been released to a carrier on June 4th. Oh, if she could make it on the June 7th W&W ship, I would be in heaven. jetstar1 Jun 4th, 2005, 07:54 PM JOY, JOY, JOY!
I've been booked on a ship. My car is scheduled to sail on the Trianon on June 7th!!
I hope she stays on the ship, and isn't taken off at the last minute. Stricks Jun 5th, 2005, 12:34 AM JOY, JOY, JOY!

That's awesome jetstar1! Hopefully she makes a speedy trip home.
I just called ASK-MINI and the automated system told me that my car is being assembled and still scheduled to be completed on Monday.
BTW, does anyone know how soon the cars get booked onto ships? I tried my VIN on the Wallenius site, and they showed no info. That makes sense since my car isn't done being built yet, but I'm just curious about how early in the process MINI books the ships? silverwolf08 Jun 5th, 2005, 02:11 AM scheduled for completion on June 8!
that would be cute if he came on July 4. that's probably a bit early, but it would be nice.
this is going to be a long month. | |
