taznuv - The guy at JCW told me that although the sound kit doesn't give any extra BHP it does give you much better throttle response and low down power.

Guess I'll have to wait until the 2nd to find out for definite :D :D

Just phoned JCW again, to get the price confirmed - £715.50 inc VAT & Fitting.

Hold on to your hats cuz im doing a Group buy on the Sound kit fitted buy the JCW Garage them selfs!!! i have no prices yet due to the kit is still not relised from BMW yet (will be in the next week or so) but when the JCW Garage get the price they'll let me know a group buy price! so if ur intrested then PM me the more we get the cheper it'll be! and it'll be a grate day out for every one! i have 5 peps intrested at the mo! :D

Has anyone, anywhere had the JCW Sound Kit installed on a CVT Cooper? MINIUSA seems to be unsure about whether or not they will approve (i.e., provide warranty coverage for) its installation on a CVT, even though their part number descriptions and installation instructions clearly contemplate its installation on a CVT-equipped Cooper. Any issues encountered anywhere else in the MINI universe?

Here's a question, I already own a JCW cooper an 04 model, now can I get the 05 JCW kit fitted to mine, baring in mind it already has the ECU remap. I goes like the clappers but I would love it to sound a wee bit more throaty. Or would | just be better getting a K&N fitted? :confused:

Dunno, it might be worth a call to JCW to see what they recommend?

Mate, group buy fell flat due to lack of comittment / interest etc.

Depends how much you can get off really, its a new product so will be in high demand at the moment. If they only drop it to £700 its hardly worth all the admin effort just to save £15

You could try getting the JCW quote and getting your dealers to match it. Mentioning MINI2 in these sort of situations always helps their decision making ;)

I spoke to JCW Garages 5 days ago and they quoted me £715.50 inc fitting. It takes about 1 hour to do.

I have also got a quote from my local dealer as they are now selling it as of next week, and they told me £747.23 inc fitting etc.. Slightly higher as BMW labour is dearer than the JCW hourly rate. But it still works out cheaper for me, as I'd have to drive all the way down to JCW for the work to be done, so I am going to go to my dealer.

but mate just think about... do you want some apprentice that aint fitted this kit before @ your local garage fittin the kit or leave it to the professionals down in jcg

nanooo, if i had to choose i'd go to jcg only for a matter of 'experience'
we are talking of an air filter, a remap and a silencer... it's not soooo difficult!!

I am surprised that I have not heard any people from London on this forum having the sound kit installed. I thought there are a lot of mini owners in London.

I will have my soundkit fitted at JCG (yes, in East Preston) on november 2nd.
Not that I don't trust my Belgian dealer - who has by the way NO experience with the new Sound kit at all - but got a good quote from JCG and a much better deal (timing + little delay). Belgian price equals £ 760, excl. fitting, so add another £ 130 for that. I planned a nice 2-day trip with B&B and my first test drive will be on "English south-east soil".

Oh cool, I had mine fitted at JGC garages as well. I didn't travel quite as far as you, but still a 300 odd mile trip.

When I left the garage you turn right over a train crossing then come to a roundabout as you come off this you go onto a dual carriageway. This is where I first heard the new air filter screaming!!! Such a great noise.

Let us know what you think when you have it fitted.

As I'm living in the "far west" of Flanders, it's not such a big deal for me. Takes only 300 km. (excluding channel tunnel) for me, Olly.

I have a few more questions:
- Didn't it take a few km/miles for the exhaust to burn in, so did you hear any difference or changing in sound since it has been fitted?
- What about the pieces they remove (exhaust, CAI), did you take them with you?

I guess I should have given the exhuast a bit more time to settle, but I was like a kid at christmas I just couldn't wait:D :D It did kick off a bit of stink for a good couple of days after it was installed. Everything has returned to normal now though. I haven't noticed any difference since i've had it fitted, still sounds the same as when it was bolted on.

I didn't take any of the pieces with me. The way I thought about it was all facelifted coopers are still in warranty, so knowone will be needing replacement parts yet. Also I have never heard of an exhaust going on a MINI, so I doubted anybody would want that.
