Ah well, as I am a sprightly 23, my insurers see fit to offer me the irresistable price of £1600 for 4 months to upgrade to the S, told them where to shove it, I'm gonna use Adrian Flux for £1300 (for a year) and lose the 8 months no claims I have built up. (I was previously a named driver for 5 years whilst at uni).

Did anyone get the chance to pick their number plate from a pool or was it just assigned to the car by the dealer?

When I got my Cooper I was given the choice of one from the three. :)

im still stuck on the whole black roof / white roof issue

to be honest, i thought that if i went for white that the wheels would have to be white as well, but looking here it doesnt sound like it looks to great?

other thing i was toying with is getting the chequered roof?

any thoughs?

The Dark Silver/White S I saw had white S Spokes. I really liked it, the only thing putting me off is having to clean the things. Silver alloys are bad enough.:D

Ah mate I’ve never been so indecisive about anything in my life. But there is one thing that was never in the running and that was white wheels. Thank God.:p

Good Luck.;)

I think that the white wheels only look good on IB, BRG, EB, LY, Black or CR cars, the silver ones I dont think look good with white wheels.

Just my opinion.

OK, finally.... I've been worrying about EB/white for some time. I finally saw the colour in the flesh today and... thought it was wonderful! Fantastic colour, really liquid. Problem is, it's going to be way too bright for me at work, as I go to see clients often. I need something more conservative, so wanted to change to DS/white. I rang BMW Australia who were really helpful, and said I had 24 hours to change! I'll be telling my dealer in the morning. Sorry Spazz - I feel like I'm abandoning the Melbourne EB brigade. On the other hand.... hello to Basil's DS club! Thanks very much both of you for your help and emails as well. BTW, Colorado S's pictures clinched the deal for me.

I don't see this as a compromise at all, as they both look great. I feel more comfortable now I've made the decision, so my gut is telling me that it's the right thing to do.

As I was talking to BMW, the guy mentioned that there is ANOTHER Xenon supply problem. I am a July build (September arrival), and was previously told that Xenon's were OK. BMW found out today that Xenon's are off the menu again, so if I want them I will have to wait another month. Any advice? Are they really that good?

(I'll change my profile below once the change has been signed off by BMW!)

Anyone see the DS/white on 5th Gear last night?
The S spot confirmed that DS/black is the way to go.
IMO the white roof looked out of sorts on DS anyone else agree?

I liked it, but then again I like the black.

I think they both look great, but I think the white softens the Dark Silver slightly, making it seem brighter.

That said, anyone see Huey's video of his test drive? He drove a Dark Silver/Black a it looks very cool in motion.:D

Does that mean you could not change your spec LMB?

I did see the DS/Black combo yesterday, but I have to say it looks much better with the white roof and mirrors.
It's too dark and too dull with all that black. But it's my opinion ;) .

Well the deed is done.:) I am now officially getting a Dark Silver S with a White roof. Unfortunately changing my spec at such a late stage has put my build date back a couple of weeks. :( But never mind I have waited this long a couple of weeks is neither here nor there.

Roll on August.:D

Well,

after seeing the two cars side by side at Goodwood yesterday I have decided to go for the Dark Silver with BLACK!

God what a hard decision, I really love the white roof and wheels on the MINI, but i feel that on the DS the black just makes the lines overall look better and it better fits its profile.

Full spec will be

DS & Black with Silver Alloys
Chili Pack
Satalite Seats in Lapis Blue
DSC
MFSW
Heated Washers / Jets
Auto Air Con
Trip Computer
Single Minidisc
6 CD Changer
Harman Speakers
TLC
Translucent Bonnet stripes
Spot Lights
Clear Rear Lights
Side Aero Kit
Works Conversion
:D :D

LMB, how many times have you changed you spec?:)

So many changes. But I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. After all, we're all spending a lot money.

Your welcome :)

Yes, I have ColoradoS's hig res front 3/4 shot as my current wallpaper. No regrets at all from changing colour to Dark Silver/White. Only tinge is that I just can't see the value in $4700AU for four R90 rims, so didn't get them. Mind you the S-spokes will be SO much easier to clean.....:D I will definately be getting Bonnet stripes at the first service.

Don't abandone the EB crew!!! Your client will just admire the bright colour of your car. Unless you are a funeral director, in which case perhaps the DS may be more appropriate. Surely you don't want your car to look like Basil's? :D

Just kidding mate. Both colours are great. Jsut get your car quickly so that the Melbourne guys can take their cars for a spin down great ocean road!!! :D Mine should be here in 2 weeks. :D :D :D

LMB was right the first time, like I was  . I reckon If you could buy these cars over the counter it would have been so much easier. If you discuss anything for too long, you'll make the "wrong" personal decision.

What do you all reckon. I've come all the way back to my first colour choice......anyone else done the same ? Or am i just weak minded !!.

mind you, the yellow does still look good.........ha ha ha

You couldn't be more right :o !

Look what I've ended up with :D.

If only I had stuck with my 1st choise, I would have been joining the DS/White club :( ;)

But reserve a spot for me :D !
