Hi there all you Mini enthusiasts! My name is Adam, I'm from a charitable organisation called the Chelmsford Environment Partnership where I run a project called Travel Share. The project is run to try to encourage people to share car journeys wherever possible in order to decrease pollution, congestion, stress levels and also to help
members save money. We are currently aiming to re-launch the project after a successful pilot period. We are planning to do this with an attempt on the World Record for most number of people in a mini! The current best is 18! You've probably guessed already that the reason I'm posting is because we have yet to find a mini to squeeze into!
The rules of the record state that it must be a new-model Mini Cooper, that it must be a standard model, with no interior fittings removed or adjusted in any way. If any kind soul would be willing to provide such a car, the kudos of a successful attempt would surely make them the envy of the entire Mini community!!! The record attempt will take place on Sat 20th July 2002 in the town centre in Chelmsford, Essex, if anyone is prepared to help us with this would they please be kind enough to contact me for more information on 01245 268782, or email adam@i-travelshare.co.uk , many thanks in anticipation of your generosity to a cause which I'm sure is close to your hearts! :)

Good Luck in finding someone. I have no doubt that Mini2 members are a charitable bunch, but I think they draw the line at having 18 odd people squash into their pride and joy.:D

In Chelmsford 'eh, may pop along. Although some unruly youths managed to remove something from my old mini there not too long ago.....
Still, got to meet some of the Essex constabulary that night !

If anyone does pop over be sure and pick a copy of 'The Edge'.

just a thought but wouldn't BMW be the ones to ask? after all, they are the ones who'd profit from the publicity.... either that or a dealer. great free advertising for them too.
good luck!
