Here in the U.S. we have the MC starting at around $17,500 with destination charges and no options, and the MCS starting at around $21,000. I've heard that in '07 only the two turbocharged engines will be available in the States. Will MINI be able to introduce them at the same price points, or will the turbos plus the desire for a little more profit margin mean that prices will edge up a few thousand? I know there's no official word on pricing, or at least I haven't heard any, but what are your opinions?

Prices go up every year. For example, in 2002, the base price of the MC was US$16,300. I'm sure by 2007 the prices will be higher, maybe not too much if they de-content the car with fewer standard features. The other big factor is that the dollar has been weaker the past couple of years and that trend is forcast to continue, thus the USD price will tend to be raised as a partial offset.
Changing from engines made in Brazil to engines made in France certainly doesn't sound like it will save much money but there is no way to know for sure.
