Unfortunately, they could not schedule me for pick-up today. Looks like I'll have to wait until Monday. Bummer! As far as the wheels they are "looking into it" ...

On the positive side, at least this gives me time to work on a nice CD mix. I was having souch trouble picking out an inaugural music selection.

Patience, grasshopper ...

Picked up the car yesterday afternoon and almost immediately piled the family in (all four) and drove around to show it off to various relatives. Rides great. Lots of looks, lots of grins. The biggest reactions were from kids on their bikes as we drove by -- a good sign that you have a cool car.

Hey good for you! Maybe now you can do the tailgating party over at Miller Park! Happy Motoring! Yours is A Chili Red Cooper with a white roof right? Just like mine (is yours an S?)

Motor On!

Mine's a regular ol' Cooper: Chili Red w/ white roof. Still waiting on the white wheels, though. I drove home for lunch today and my wife took the keys and left me with the kids!

P.S. I think a baseball game would be fun -- anybody know if kbsolo is still planning on driving cross-country?

I think we should post it as a new thread so any interested people can check it out who arent looking at this thread already. I can look into some possible dates, perhaps on a weekend.

Seems this thread is mostly dead. You all must be out motoring. Well, my S has been at the VPC for 1 week now , and according to MINIUSA has not even finished the first stage, whatever that is. So, no 7/26 S for me. Oh well, since I am going to Jamaica next week, I guess the wait will be tolerable. :D

The last week or so is the worst part of the wait. Don't worry -- it'll happen!

6/21 production RULES!

MiniMRK,
Yes I am still panning on driving cross-country. My Cooper is currently at the VPC. So I should pick it up early next week. The wait is getting to me. Like the commercial. Is it there yet? is it there yet?

The brewer's will be on at home most of next week. So I may be able to squeeze in a stop in Milwaukee. Although my big plan is roller coasters. We don't have many in Seattle (1). So I'm stopping at Cedar Point and may swing down to Kings Island.

Therefore, to keep the trip from extending into 7 days I may have to skip the ball game. :( I guess it depends how long I stay at Cedar Point. :D

When I know more i'll post a new topic, in the "Meetings" section

Keith

kb_solo2, good luck with the car ... the last week is the worst, but it is worth the wait.

Mine still hasn't made it ashore and the wait is killing me. Here's hoping my stint in the Vehicle Purgatory Center isn't more than a few days!

My Cooper is ready for me to pick it up. Unfortunately, I have to wait for the state of Tennessee to send me reinstatement papers (I live in Florida) in order for me to get a valid driver's license.

Getting there! My MINI and I are now at least in the same country!:D It was unloaded from the Takamine yesterday evening. Just purgatory to get through now. Keep your fingers crossed for me folks.

Mine was on the same boat. I am waiting to see that it has arrived at the distribution center, and hopefully get an estimated date. It's been a long trip from England!

It sure was, wasn't it? All these 6/21ers on the East Coast cruising around in their MINIs already are driving me crazy.:D

I called today to ask about the car (at 866-ask-mini).
They said it had left the port Sunday (which I knew) but
had not yet arrived at the distribution center in Oxnard.
This is Tuesday. I looked on the map, and it's about
5 miles from the port to the distribution center.
That seems like it's moving mighty slow!
I hope the trip from the distribution center to SF is
faster.

I was told by someone from East Bay MINI that the average time from dock to VPC to dealer was about 4-5 days. That however, is obviously an average and we probably shouldn't get our hopes up. My guess is that our cars are already at the VPC and it just hasn't been entered into the system yet. Either that or they're sittin by the dock o' the bay.

I called MINUSA today and was told that my MINI is still sitting at the dock awaiting transport to the VPC. My wife says it'll start to rust in the sea air if this keeps up.

I think it would be a good idea to go down there and personally bring our cars to Oxnard. What do you think?

Guys I feel your pain!!! I really do. Just take a deep breath and remember that you will have plenty of time to have quality time with your 'dog! Trust me it'll be worth the wait!

Take it easy dudes!
