Yalla Yalla 2005 is set!

For those of you who have been eagerly awaiting this event, it is time for YY 2005 - Yalla Yalla!! In case you are not aware:
- Yalla Yalla is an annual event celebrating the establishment of MINI5280 as one of the very first MINI enthusiast clubs in this country

- Yalla Yalla is a Ride, Scavenger Hunt, Musical Interlude and Quiz all rolled into one. We recommend that you bring a 'Navigator' for this busy and fun ride.

- Yalla Yalla this year is being held on Sunday, September 25th at 11:00 am starting at Ralph Schomp MINI in Littleton

- The Broncos are off that day (they play Monday night) so you will have nothing else to do..

- The ride will go approximately 4 hours and will conclude in a location conducive to eating and drinking (you do that while we give away prizes and recognition)

- At Yalla Yalla, everybody wins something. Nobody leaves empty handed. There is mucho bling. Last year we had 47 cars including MINIs, Minis, and other British makes and models.

- Our sponsors and hosts for Yalla Yalla are many and are distinguished. They are:

Mark Ferguson and North American Motoring. Mark was instrumental in getting MINI5280 on the map and in establishing our club. NAM serves as host for our website and our forums and our activity calendar. NAM is the biggest and most influential MINI promoter in this country and literally drives the MINI community

Randy Webb and Webb Motorsports. Randy also was influential in the establishment of MINI5280 some years ago and now is the most significant and best known of all the MINI tuners in the U.S.

Ralph Schomp MINI - John Angel and his crew (Mike, Handsome Rob, Vinnie, Rene, Ian, Aaron and Vinnie) have provided most of us with our beloved MINIs and keep all of them running and running well. Ralph Schomp MINI hosts many MINI events and serves as our location for our monthly meetings eom. We cannot thank them enough for the service and support they provide to the MINI community.

- Yalla Yalla this year will introduce to you " MINI PodCasts " . Don't know what a PodCast is? I didn't either until recently. Come on out and find out.

1) I tried accessing the NAM 5280 calender to sign up there, but it wouldn't work. Theni tried e-mailing "president@mini5280" (you i think), but never recieved a response. I am trying to find out more about the yalla yalla. Then i called Ralph Schomp mini and they for some reason said that they had no idea what i was talking about. Weird, becasue that is where all the cars meat and this is the 4th annual one. (I called 303-798-1500, then got transferren to the mini department).

2) Anyways, I am just wanting to sign up for me and my buddy.

Does it cost anything?

- My email is indeed President@MINI5280.org and it forwards to my home, where I capture the mail. I do not have it forwarded to my work for the obvious reasons. You can reach us also at Membership@MINI5280.org (Rick) or Secretary@MINI5280.org (Kendall).

- The MINI5280 Calendar is hard to find the first time, but after that it is easy. Note that to get to our calendar you have to be a member of NAM, and logged in as such. If you are just browsing as a guest the calendar and other tools are off limits to you. There is no fee to join, we recommend your choosing a name we can identify like Idontbrake in Colorado or somesuch. To find the calendar, click on Calendar in the left margin, then scroll all the way down, choose JUMP to MINI5280 Calendar (we are the only club calendar there) and you are in.

- Good news for YY 2005 - Yalla Yalla. There is no need to pre-register as in the past. We will use our member list at the event and any person who has paid dues in 2005 is admitted without a fee. Any MINI or other owner who wishes to pay MINI5280 dues of $27 at the YY event will be admitted without a fee. Any guest, no matter what you drive including MINIvans, will pay a small $5 fee. Just show up at the door and join us then.

- YY 2005 Yalla Yalla begins at 11 am on Sunday, Septebmer 25th at Ralph Schomp MINI in Littleton. Come a few minutes early to register. We will leave shortly after 11 am and conclude mid-afternoon at a nice eating and drinking establishment in Golden, CO.

Everyone who joins Yalla Yalla gets something. Our Quiz and Scavenger Hunt winners will choose from the big prizes. There is a drawing for all and you will get something. Finally, we will hold a VERY LARGE 50/50 auction and someone will win some nice cash. Among our vendors and supporters of MINI5280 and Yalla Yalla are:

1. NAM NorthAmericanMotoring and Mark Ferguson, based right here in metro Denver
2. Ralph Schomp MINI in Littleton. John Angel and these guys get us our cars and keep them on the road.
3. WEBB Motorsports and Randy Webb, based right here in Highlands Ranch.

5. Paragon Motor Cars Denver - Matthew Kryjak and team (including Anthony Fig) have the greatest collection of sports cars in the state, and support MINI5280 to boot!
