Wow!

Well, my ww profile is clearly out of date: I called my MA to get an update on the car and found out that it had just arrived late Friday and they were about to call me to schedule delivery!!!

I am getting the shop to install the front and rear foglights, and then I'm taking it to Futureshop to install the icelink+, and then I think I'll take the rest of the day off and waste a tank of gas just driving around and around... :) Hopefully, Tuesday is the day I'll get my hands on it.

The funny thing was that I dropped my son off at his grandparents' house just a few blocks away from the dealer and drove past it this morning on my way to work and noticed a few new cars complete with the white plastic still on the hood. When I pick him up, I am sure to take a quick stop by to see if I can pick out my new beauty - unfortunately, I won't have a camera... :(

Well, my dealer definately gets a gold star - I stopped by last night with my 2 year old son and I noticed the red mini I saw this morning on display had gone.

The MA took me into the back to see what was happening and told me that the car I saw in the morning was in fact mine! We went inside (with my son turning his head left and right with every noise) and I got right up to the new car and peered inside the windows while I taught my son how to say "mini cooper"... They are aiming for a Wednesday delivery, and I promise I'll have my camera (or my clie) to take pictures.

I think I'll name it Sharpless (or #>, the nice consul from the Madame Butterfly, appropriate since that was the name of the ship she was on). :)

Ha! :D

Mine was built 10/31-11/2. Since then it has been hangin out at the plant waiting for release to carrier. Is this typical? Seems like a week to sit is a little long. What have you all experienced?

Seems a little longer than most. Maybe yours got picked for random QA checks?

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while but I've been out motoring. I freaking love my MINI Pooper. :p Here are a few pics that were taken when I picked up the Pooper. It will be two weeks this Friday the 11th. I've now got 850 miles and climbing. I can't stop driving. Any excuse to get out. Even if it's just picking something up at Target, I'll drive accross town to get it. LOL

Anyway, enjoy the pics and your cars. Al

Thanks for posting those pics Tampaguy -- your Mini looks great, and you're almost through the break-in period where you can do some serious motoring and fully unleash the little beast!

I just wanted to post an update and let folks know that the first batch of West Coast bound Minis has arrived at port. The OL now says that my MCS is at the VDC, so those of us in the West who have been patiently (or maybe not so patiently) waiting for our Minis will start to get them soon! :D

It won't be long now!

My mini is at the VPC in Port Hueneme. I'm estimating a week or so to get up to Portland. Hopefully it won't take long to install the alarm and illuminating door sills. I am so excited.

Thanks Micahbones. I have to say though, a little disappointed in my dealer not making a production of my new car. I know from reading other threads, other dealers make it fun for the customer when picking up their car. I had to wait 2 hours just to drive away because of a previous customer taking up my MA's time. LOL Oh well, love the car just the same. Actually had to take the Pooper back to the dealer for an AUX issue. Turns out, not a AUX wire issue so much as I need to purchase a GROUND LOOP. Anyway, have fun...

Well, I've turned *down* a chance to pick it up tonight - tomorrow will be much easier (won't have to stay late at work, wife can pick up our current car at a nearby mall and drive that one home, etc)

yay!

I can feel your pain, I had to wait twice. First was a 2003 S that was BRG and my 2005 S which is Pepper White. Well worth the wait. Both of mine were here 2 - 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Keep following progress on the Web Site. It will be here before you know it. KarleJust found out my '06 MCS is scheduled for production week 40! (BTW this is my first post on Mini2)

Here is the spec -- I went relatively "stripped":

Space Blue / Silver
Cloth Upholstery w/ Anthracite Headliner, Alloy Patina Interior Trim
Cold Weather Pack (it will be my only car and I live in Colorado)
Limited Slip Diff
Xenon Headlights
Front and Rear fogs
MFSW (I take frequent road trips and wanted cruise control for boring highway stretches)

Dealer says that Zephyr will be here by mid-Dec, but I am hoping earlier. I honestly can't remember the last time I have been this giddy with anticipation for a material good (maybe when I was promised a BB gun for Christmas when I was 8 -- many, many moons ago)!

Any more confirmed week 40s out there?

My car is still "missing". WW has it unloaded 11/5 in NY and MiniUSa still shows it on the boat and the dealer says it is not there. Anyway to check on the VPC?

AARGH! I thought I was on the 11/8 docking ship, but now I'm not so sure. OL still says "en route", and I'm getting no info from my MA. I don't think I can bear it if my MINI isn't docking until the 19th???? :( :( :(
Anyone else still have "en route" in the OL but have confirmation they were on the 11/8 ship? (My MA told me awhile back that ours was due to arrive at Port H on the 7th or 8th, but that was way back when the expected arrival dates for the two ships were the 5th and the 11th. ) AGONY!!

My S got into port on the 11/5 and I still haven't heard from my MA. I know it is early but the temptation of calling and annoying the hell outtta him is becoming overwhelming :p . I'm thinking that I will be able to pick it up this weekend. Anyone on Long Island or the Greater NYC area know how long it usually takes to get from port to your driveway?

By the way, ASK_MINI says that my "vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." WW's site says it was discharged in NY. Just waiting for the dealer to call is excrutiating.

Hi Roymo,

Maybe you were one of the last Minis off the ship and your information has not been updated yet. Have you called 1-866-askmini? My information on the OL shows a November 12 estimated delivery date to the Portland dealership.

 Soon we will all have our Minis!

where on the OL does it give a estimated delivery date? it is only posted after the car leaves the VPC? Mine too was supposed to be unloaded today, the 9th, in SC, how long to Chicago????

WOW!!!! IN Portland on the 12th?
I haven't talked to anyone at ASKMINI, but finally gave in to temptation and called my MA . His tracking system still shows en route at all, but he's confident it was on the 11/8 ship, so I'm assuming we're just at the back of the long line of MINIs. I'm ok with that - just didn't want to wait another 1.5 weeks.
I've been hearing a week from VDC to dealer, but your posting gives me hope!

Will you be using Rasmussen for service? Last time I checked the service dept wasn't open on Saturday. What's with that ?!?!? I can't imagine how anybody outside the immediate PDX area gets their MINI serviced.

Hi Steve,

When going to the OL to track your Mini, there is a link to "Review Order Detail". It is there that it shows the information on your Mini, including the estimated delivery date. I think that information is updated after a Mini has been inspected and is waiting for a vessel.

It won't be long now. :hmph:

Yes I will be using Rasmussen for service. They are only a 10 minute drive for me. I wasn't sure of the service dept. hours, so I checked and sure enough closed on S & S. Their hours are M - F 7:00 - 6:00. They do have a drop off though which works out for many people. With all the Minis that are sold in this area, I'm guessing they will open on Saturdays in the near future. :nice:

I called my MA today my car will get to the dealer today!!! I'm sure the trip to LI is less than the trip to PA. They will need 2 days to add the accesories and put the Roadblock film on the car so I will pick up the car next week.

I still havent heard when my MINI will be here. My MA says its a 8 hour drive from the VPC to Virginia Beach so I'm still hopping for Saterday pick up. I'm not having the dealer install any options so it should go though quick once it gets here.

Wow, I was not aware of this -- the OL also quotes an estimated deilvery date of 11/12 (this Sat!) for me as well (currently says "At Distribution Center"). This date doesn't seem possible, however, given that it still needs to be shipped to Colorado from the VDC in California...unless of course it cruised right through the VDC and is now on a truck to Denver!

I better get my financing and insurance lined up so I can take Zephyr out for his first canyon carving expedition soon after he arrives at the dealer

Well, MiniVee, we received two cars today from the train yard - I almost started crying when I noticed the BRG auto didn't have foglights :aargh: ('Oh my gawd, I'm a deadman' is the exact thought I had). I cheered up immensely when I realised it was Satisfiedmind's car, I wouldn't be added to the list of deadbeat MA's, and your's hadn't arrived - :o It should be here tomorrow, I hope !

Let me tell you how pathetic my fiance and I are. Our precious JCW Mini was due to arrive 2 days ago but it wasn't in yet, so we have been driving by the dealership (completely out of our way) once or twice a day to look for it. Last night, on one of our trips by the dealer, we spotted a car hauler truck pulling in to deliver cars to another dealership. I asked the driver if he had seen any Minis at the railyard and he said he hadn't but since there were 300 cars parked there, it's not suprising. We drove across town to the railyard and of course, security wouldn't let us on the property, no matter how much we pleaded. I put the truck in 4x4 mode, turned off the lights and drove across a field to get close to the fence. Sadly, I couldn't spot any Minis in that expanse of cars and tomorrw is a holiday, so there's no way we'll see the car before next week :(
