I made a surprise visit to the dealership today to see if I could spy my Mini. I went inside to talk to my MA and she said it is leaving L.A. today. This does not make sense to me especially since Michabone's and Roymo's Minis have arrived. No happy dance for me!

Well that's totally unfair! Sorry! :(

I'll bet yours won't take nearly as long for the dealer to prep, though. We're getting the invisishield, so that's slowing us down quite a bit. Hopefully you'll still be drivin' happy by this weekend!

Seems like I read somewhere Rasmussen's got about 50 MINIs between the ship that arrived on the 8th and the one docking on the 19th.

Looks like MicahBones will beat me and I'll be a rotten egg, but somehow ... I don't care!

It could still be tight Roymo -- I have yet to receive that fated call :hmph:

Hang in there Deb -- I wish your Mini an expedient trip!

Also, congrats Loosecannon -- your Mini looks beautiful -- nice combo with the astro black exterior and red seats!

Finally, any of you West Coasters going to the Laguna Seca Phil Wicks event in Dec? Would be a great way to imbibe our new Minis with some positive motoring mojo...

Picked up car today and drove for 136 miles until my run flat tire got a flat!!!!!! I'll go back to the dealer Wednesday and hope they can put a new tire on right away. It was real fun while it lasted today. What a great car and what poor luck.

Stopped by the dealer today to see our MINI that had been dropped off. It will be ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon, but we couldn't resist staring at him and sitting in him. And he was dirty -- I wanted to wash him already...

Rotten luck! Do you think you actually ran over something that damaged the tire, or was it a dud? Did it stop raining long enough for you to have a breezy trip home?

Sorry to hear your first drive ended so abruptly, but I'm envying you the 146 miles! :p

I so envy all of you who live close enough to stalk your dealership! Our MINI arrived yesterday, but we don't get to see him 'til Saturday. :(

I finally picked up my MINI today but I of course forgot to bring a camera. I'll take some pics tomorrow if I'll be able to take a break from driving. I want to just get the break in period over with in one day and be able to see what my baby can really do. :D

I have an estimated delivery date!!!!! Just checked the OL, and it must have been updated overnight....as it wasn't on there yesterday. 11-28-05 So a day or two after that I should be able to pick it up. I'm only getting the Ipod adapter installed, so it shouldn't get held up that long. Heck...its still on the Undine.... off the coast

My wife and I had the top down all day, even with a light rain. People thought we were nuts.......and we are. We picked up the kids from school and had another great journey. I ran over a piece of steel and removed it (with pliers) and the tire had a 2 inch slash in it. The run flats worked great and before the "incident" I was very impressed with the Goodyear Eagle Run Flats. I found a new tire this morning and had it mounted so I will get back on the road tonight after work. Boy was this car ever worth the wait. I can't wait until the break in is over.

My pickup appointment at Schomp Mini in Denver is tomorrow (Thur) at 1PM! The factory iPod interface is backordered, so they can process Zephyr quickly since he is only getting rubber S front floor mats and a glove box organizer for accessories.

I am taking the day off work to make a day of it: bus from Boulder to downtown Denver, light rail to Littleton, take delivery/go through checklist, cruise by Webb Motorsports to show Randy and Brian the new ride, and then hit some twisties on the way home to give Zephyr his first taste...after which I'm sure he (and I) will be addicted...

:black: Lucky Michabones! I can't wait to see pictures of Zephyr. I saw a space blue/silver MCS at the dealership last time I was there . . . . It was a sharp looking MINI. It had the web spoke wheels and english leather.

Congratulations Loosecannon and Minivee!!! Your MINIs are handsome. It was nice to see the astro black since that is the color I ordered. I have not seen one in person yet, but yours (Loosecannon) is beautiful! I can't wait to take delivery of mine. Hopefully this Saturday, but I haven't heard yet. Keeping my fingers crossed, and warming up for the "happy dance".

Today is a beautiful, sunny (did I say dry?) day in Vancouver, WA . . . . If I only had my MINI :(

More bad luck today. After the tire problem, the EML light came on and the the Service Engine Soon light came on. I hope the next 90,000 miles go a little smoother than the first 184.

Picked up my Hyper Blue/White MCS this morning at 930. Holy hell, it is more fun than I thought it would be. I can't stop driving it. I will post pics asap.

Fun news today! I found out that we're sailing the Tosca this morning and this afternoon was able to watch her via radar (http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/radcap.asp) clear the channel and head out to sea! WW says Tosca should arrive at Port Hueneme on Dec 7. It's looking like a Christmas MINI to me :p

MCoopS21, I look forward to those pictures. My MCS is Hyperblue/Black.

The astro black is definitely cool in person, but I'll have to see what it looks like in different lighting to know for sure if it's going to look good with the red interior. Sitting under flourescent lights, it looks dark blue where the light reflects off of it and the Mini Tech says it looks purple when in the sunlight. I haven't been able to pick up my baby yet because we got heavy, heavy snowfall 2 hours before I was supposed to pick it up. We are still digging out 2 days later but hopefully tomorrow I will be able to at least drive the car home.

Woohoo, we finally got to pick him up today! Happy dance!

No outside pics yet, because it was dark by the time we left the dealer.

And we're going on our first MINI run this Sunday!

Looks like there's a few new owners in Calgary. You have a great location for Mini runs, I'm jealous :) Maybe I'll have to make a run out there to visit my sister.

Wow - the brg / w combo looks really nice minivee...

I don't think there are many mini runs in the Ottawa area, but I'll hold out for one. Ironically, the second day I took my mini to work, I had one of my largest customers come in - he had ordered one and was expecting it any day (I actually got mine already despite ordering it after his). ha!

Thanks MiniVee!

As for the wheels, I decided to change out the stock R84 V-spokes that come with the MCS for the R83 five-stars that are an option on the MC because I prefer the design of the five-stars (and also kinda like the "sleeper" look). So the five-stars are the only wheels I currently have for the Mini. I do plan to get some summer only wheels/tires -- and am leaning toward Team Dynamics wheels with Falken Azenis tires...

Snow yesterday? I was watching the weather channel this morning and Denver was looking warm today . . . . . Hope you are out motoring

My MINI arrived at the dealership yesterday but won't be ready to be picked up until next week (hopefully before Thanksgiving). I'm hoping to take her to the wine country the day after Thanksgiving for the big Thanksgiving Weekend open house.

So has anyone else had their side windows get smeared up when rolling them down and then back up?

Both of mine get this big smeary streak happening. I've only had Sheamus one day, so he obviously is still the way he came from the dealer, and hasn't been washed by me yet. Is it just some manufacturing residue that will wear off the window guides or something?

And just how hard is it to stay below 4,500 rpm during the break-in period, eh? I'm finding that Sheamus really starts getting himself going at around 3,000 - 3,500 rpm, and then I have to shift when we get to around 4,000 (shifting with the paddles on the steptronic).:( Only 1,880 more kilometers to go...
