How were you able to get the ships Lat & Lon?

Once you've got your ship's call sign, I think you're supposed to be able to get in using this web site:
http://www.oceanweather.com/data/
Pick an ocean region on the left, then choose Marine Observations and hunt for the call sign.

If you haven't got your ship's call sign, I think you can get that here:

The ship name would be great ;) , as I'll lose my mind if I don't have some kind of update in the next three weeks. A motoring advisor at Schomp just told that my Mini (and therefore yours) is scheduled to arrive at port on Nov. 11, but did not give me the name of the ship...

Washy have you taken a tour of the Mini manufacturing facility? Are pints drunk there on Friday after work? (I hope not during work)

I have been on the factory tour, verry impressive. Was in that neck of the woods at the weekend and the were a couple of space blues waiting transport to their new owners.

Well, I ordered my car on the 17th of September. I received a call from my MD today who indicated that it should be at the dealership next week. We have set up a tenative appointment to pick up my car on Tuesday the 25th! I'm excited but I think since I've order the sucker, I've over processed so much that I'm kind of over it. LOL I'll believe it when I see it. Granted, I've burned a CD for it and already have picked up my aux. connector. LOL

Mini does not tell the name of the ships, but confirmed that my MINI is in transit and is estimated to dock in L.A. on 9 November. I was really looking forward to tracking the voyage across the pond.

Thanks Roymo. I know it completed production the week of the 30th. I was surprised on how fast things really moved. Lets just see when it gets here.

Well, that's interesting, considering many others on the forum HAVE been able to get the name of their ships from their MAs. :confused: :confused:

I wonder if some of us have been a bit too obsessive and have been bothering the shipping companies? The FAQ on tracking your MINI talks about how WW cannot answer questions from MINI owners. Sounds like it's been a problem in the past anyway. Perhaps that's why they're reluctant to tell us?

I was hoping maybe I could do something with the docking date in Port Hueneme (BTW, for those of you who were wondering like me, according to their web site, it's pronounced why-NEE-me), but no luck there.
Guess we'll just have to sit tight. I'm pretty satisfied just to have an estimated docking date. :D

Also how do I use the ocean weather ship tracking? I tried to search for my ship's call number on the map but its too crowded. Is there any way other way to find it?

We can't track the train, but your MA can.

To track your ship with the ocean weather ship tracking, you have to click on the "Marine Obervations" page and scan the list for your ship's call sign. My ship didn't report in until she was well into the Atlantic.

My best guess is that we are all on the same ship (Roymo, Deburahiru, myself) because it doesn't seem that they would send two different ships in a two-day period (unless demand is really that high and two ships are needed). The discrepancy in dates is probably a result of the communication process, or maybe if we're lucky they have bumped up the expected date by a couple of days :)

Just checked the WW site and my MCS has been booked to sail on the Honor and should be arriving in New York (NJ) on November 3rd. I feel pretty lucky because I ordered mine Oct. 11th. Seems like they are rushin' me through. :D My apologies to those who have not been so lucky. I live on Long Island and am curious as to how long it takes from when it hops off the boat til when it reaches my deal and I get the magic phone call. Anyone know?

Also, I have to ask my dealer if they would install just the black plastic aero kit grill. Anyone know my chances? Maybe if I ask reallllly nice? :smile: I am leasing my Mini (ya I know, but I'm in college, hence no money!) so I'm also wondering if the dealer will ahve a problem with me putting the grill on myself if they won't. Any thoughts?

Well, just got off the phone with the Manager at our MD here in the Bay area. I informed him that my cooper will be in next week and I have a tenative date of pick up on the 25th. Well, the hurricane Wilma is suppose to hit Florida on Monday. God help us all. The Manager said there shouldn't be a problem with the MINI's on the lot. (I hope not) I've waited all this time and now a stupid hurricane.

P.S. Jack is what I named the car. LOL "Jack be nimble! Jack by quick"
