Offline | Thanks for the suggestion Mary but, being a public servant and having full knowledge of how committees work, I think I'll take the megaphone diplomacy option Ok so you asked and here it is First off the disclaimer ( ). You attend this meeting of like minded people under the express understanding that you take full responsibility for yourself and your own actions. I only plan on taking responsibility for myself and no one else. If you don't like something that is suggested or done, speak now (or at the time) or forever hold you peace.I reckon we should meet up at the petrol station at Eagle Hawke just outside Canberra on the Federal Highway at about 9:30 on Saturday. On our way to Goulburn, we'll briefly stop off at the Goulburn South Maccas where we'll meet up with the Tux's at about 10:45. From there, we’ll drive up to Kangaroo Valley via Robertson where we’ll stop for about half an hour to have lunch. We’ll aim to arrive at about 12:30 and leave at about 1:00. From Kangaroo Valley we’ll drive to Nowra then Wollongong and thence onto Sydney. I reckon we’ll get to Sydney at about 3:30 to 4:00. Once in Sydney it’s up to everyone to entertain themselves for the afternoon/evening. Perhaps those that are available could try to organise a dinner with some of the Sydney Mini people – but I’ll leave that up to you to arrange as I’ll be otherwise indisposed. ![]() As said earlier (I think) you'll all have to organise your own accommodation in Sydney on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, we will meet at the Shell petrol station (apparently referred to as "Space station" or the "Big A S S Shell Servo just before the beginning of the M2 at Lane Cove West on Epping road") on Epping Road, at 8:30 with the aim to leave at 9:00. From here, we’ll head up to Richmond via the M2 motorway (bring cash/e-card). Judging by MSN Maps and Directions, that should take us about 1 hour. So we’ll aim to meet Simon and any of the other North Coasters that decide to join us at about 10:00 and leave by 10:30. We'll meet the guys in Richmond at the Tourism hut across the road from the air force base. ![]() From Richmond we head up to Lithgow via the Bells Line of Road aiming to hit Lithgow at about 12:00 (but we probably won’t have time to stop) and from Lithgow it’s about another hour to Bathurst where we’ll stop and meet aceman for lunch. After lunch, we can explore the delights of Bathurst including Mt Panorama and anything else that anyone wants to see/do. First on the list will be Mt P ![]() I think we should aim to leave Bathurst at about 3:00 to 3:30 and, for those coming back to Canberra, return via Blayney and Cowra. We should get back to Canberra at about 7:00 to 7:30. Sydney/North Coasters will need to discuss with each other their arrangements for getting back. Can you all have a look at this and let me know if you think this is ok. I’d especially appreciate any comments about the timing and whether it is reasonable. It may be a bit tight on Sunday morning so we’ll have to try to stick to the schedule (provided that I’ve got my timing right). Offline | All seems good to me. All I would suggest is that we (the Canberrans) maybe aim to leave a bit earlier, say 9:30am, because we all know how much we like to natter by the side of the road. ![]() ![]() Cheers Liam |

Offline | I'm new to this, so I'll be playing follow the leader. " I will follow You u u u u u u" or so the song goes. Has everyone else booked accomodation? or do we just stay at the same place. This would make organising things a bit easier. ![]() |

Offline | It would be great if we all had UHF radios too. ![]() Here's a couple of options that are better than the current dud I have. ![]() http://www.mapsdownunder.com.au/cgi-...p/U-UH044.html http://www.mapsdownunder.com.au/cgi-...UH060SX-2.html I quite like the compact nature of the second option. I also have 0.5W radio in the shape and it is very easy to use. |

Offline | Yeah, I'm staying with friends, Liam has booked a hotel for himself already - not sure what Stu and Tiaan are doing (the other 2 from Canberra) but I'd say that at this stage, it's best to arrange your own accommodation. ![]() Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

Offline | I'm looking for suggestions about where we should meet on Sunday - I have spoken to Tiaan and Gordon train station is no where near where I thought the M2 was. I need some help from Sydneysiders about where a good place is to meet up that is close to the M2. Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

Offline | Space station on Epping Road, or to non-locals the Big A S S Shell Servo just before the beginning of the M2 at Lane Cove West on Epping road. It is huge, has Macca's for those wanting brekkie and 36 Pumps to fill up with before the drive. |

Offline | Actually, that's a really good idea So are you gonna join us? You seem to know a bit more about good places to meet and traffic on the blue Mts than I do (which is basically nothing ) ![]() Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

Offline | I am an old CSU student so know those roads like the back of my hands (where did that scar come from? ) I am thinking about it but still undecided at this point because I have some other stuff to juggle around, but it is looking 70% probable. BTW if you Canberrans go back via Cowra you'll miss the drive back up the mountains which rivals Sector 1, either way you go Mt Victoria or back along Bells is really good ![]() |

Offline | I'll add you to the list as a tentative then Go on, you know you want to. You'd feel terrible if you heard on the news that a bunch of Mini's got lost last seen trying to find Richmond ![]() Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |
