Offline | Anyone interested in being a Navigator??? Hi, Someone I know from rallies and drive days is looking for a navigator for the Mt Buller Sprint in January Mt Buller Sprint His name is Peter Opie, and he races an E30 M3. He has done Targa Tasmania several times, as well as competing in Mt Buller last year, where he performed very well Mt Buller Results 2005 Peter is a very nice guy, and is an excellent and safe driver He used to own a cooper S, but he's now sold that He is based in Sydney. There are currently 4 minis entered in Mt Buller, myself and Andrew Jackson (Boo), Stu Jones and Steve Green (Warped) and 2 minis from the Sherrin racing team in Queensland. The event was fantastic last year, and this year is looking even better. Mt Buller is an ideal introduction for anyone who has never navigated before, as you do the same road over and over, which gives you plenty of opportunity to recce and get used to pace notes. Peter said he doesn't mind having a complete novice If anyone is interested you would need a CAMS national navigator license, which costs $150, plus a helmet, racesuit and fireproof gear. The event runs for 4 days over the Australia day long weekend in January. If anyone is interested, PM me, and I'll pass on details to Peter. Attached are a couple of pics of Peter at Eastern Creek in the M3 Cheers Robbo Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |

Offline | If anyone is interested I would thoroughly recommend it. Peter Opie is a fantastic guy and would be a great competitor to get an entry to rallying. Very safe and a good laugh There is a bit of committment with licensing and equipment but once you have made the step for this event its very easy to get gigs for others. Stu 2002 BRG MCS with more mods than can remember The thieves choice in race cars ![]() 2005 BEP MCS stock standard and staying that way |
