Adelaide MINI Meet - 4th & 5th Feb 2006

Hi all MINI2ers,

The Mini Club of SA are holding their annual Mini Meet again. The Mini Meet Cruise will be run on the Sat arvo (after the success of the first one last year), followed by Mini Meet itself at Glenelg on the Sunday.

Saturday 4th Feb
- Mini Meet Cruise
- starts 4pm at the Victor Richardson gates at Adelaide Oval (late start in the hope that it's not too hot for the ol' girls!)
- open to all CAMS affiliated Mini car clubs (inc Hotbricks, ClubMINI, etc)
- free to CAMS affiliated club members ($5 for a day membership to MCSA if you're not a member of a club)
- goes through North Adelaide, Glenelg, Mt Lofty and Windy Point

Sunday 5th Feb
- Mini Meet
- Wrigley Reserve Glenelg from 10am
- free to all Mini owners
- Huge event every year!

CRUISE ON THE 4th POSTPONED!

The cruise will now be on the 26th Feb from 11am at the Victor Richardson Gates, Adelaide Oval.

Mini Meet is still on at Glenelg on the 5th Feb as planned.

Hi all,

The Mini Club of SA is holding their cruise tomorrow, 26th Feb 2006.

Start - Adelaide Aquatic Centre Car Park
When - 11am
How Much - free to members of CAMS car clubs, or $5 day memberships to Mini Club of SA are also available

The convoy was about 64km, but it's now going to be closer to 60ish, and should take between 1.5 - 2 hours, finishing at Windy Point.

Everyone is welcome, including new and old Minis, Mokes, Morris 1100s, etc etc. MMCSA members and MCSA members are all welcome too. Tomorrow is all about celebreating Minis and Mini derivatives.

Well, the tour finally went ahead, but we had many hurdles!

The start was meant to be at the Aquatic Centre, but because of a swimming carnival we ended up starting from the side of the road.

We did end up going over the new ramp at the Adelaide Airport terminal (where we saw about 10 people, half of them security guards ), brought traffic to a stand still on Jetty Rd Glenelg, and finished up at Windy Point with most of the convoy still there! One driveshaft, one gearbox, and a carbie, and we were 3 Minis down.

Throw in a reroute thanks to a major accident closing Greenhill Rd and it was quite an adventure!

3 new Minis, including a MC Cabrio and MCS Cabrio, and about 15 classic Minis. Not bad for little old Adelaide! Hopefully the cruise being run by the Mini Garage can get a similar, or better, turnout!
