clubMINI NSW/ACT Twilight Track Event Eastern Creek

clubMINI has arranged a private Twilight track meet at Eastern Creek commencing from 4.30pm on Friday 24 February. We have 10 starters thus far but need a few more to make it happen. So if you are interested in putting your MINI on the track with instruction from a professional Race instructor this may be of interest to you.

All you need is a MINI (or similar) and clothing (not a race suit) that covers you from ankle to wrist to neck (jeans and long sleeved shirt is fine) Helmets can be hired at the track if you don't have one.

Cost is $220 per driver and includes tuition, virtually unlimted track time (certainly as much as you want) dinner and drinks.

Just post here or PM me or email me at events@nsw.clubmini.com.au

We had 22 MINI's last December and everyone had a ball, so come on and speed to your heart's content without fear of being booked!

This is open to clubMINi members, Pirates and MINI2 people.

Vic

Hi,

I'm definitely going

The last one before Christmas was great

These events are a great opportunity to try driving on the racetrack in a non-timed, non-competitive environment with professional instructors

You can drive as fast or as slow as you want

Cheers

Robbo

Mods: Hartge kit, CAI, oil cooler, headers, cat & exhaust, bilstein coilovers, adjustable bars & camber plates, quaife diff, roll cage, seats, harnesses
GO MADDIE and SPARKY!

I'm interested but I would be going slow and I don't want anyone getting close.

Will a slow drive just be in the way?

The orgnaisors have very strict guidelines about overtaking and passing at these drives, they are basic common sense, and they certainly avoid any embarrassing situations. The good thing about holding these "private" track events rather than the open day type events is that there is a lot more respect shown for each other. Quite frankly, none of us want to bend our MINI or get in the way and with that knoweldge every one acts very responsibly whilst still learning at their own pace what they and their MINI can do. I can assure you that you will not be in the way.

At this event they split the first timers from the more experienced and they each have their own sessions, it is only later in the evening that they might mix the groups and then everyone still has their own choice as to how fast they go.

I know exactly how the new people to these events feel, I have only done 4 of them and still remember my first time. Guys like Robbo and Stu who have very quick MINI's not only show you great respect on the track but are only too happy to share their knowledge with you.

Paul I have received your PM and will email the details for the evening tonight once i get back to the MINI office at home.

Give it a go Paul. I'd be very surprised if you weren't granted anything but total respect.

My own view is to respect the person out there having a go, regardless of the car they're in or the speed they're going.

I'm scavenging around the house for all the spare $1 coins I can find so I can try and get to this one. It would be a serious amount of good fun.

Cheers Liam

ps. Vic, can you please shoot me an email with all the detail too, so I can put forward a solid submission to the Minister.

All spectators are welcome, just enter Eastern Creek off the Ferrers road entrance (gate 7) and follow the road down under the bridge and park behind the pits. Best to come down after 5pm up to say 7.30pm, no entry fee, if there is a person on Gate 7 just tell them you are here for the clubMINI event. Be warned though, this could be addictive

All those attending please note i will send out final details via private email next week and advise payment details. I am away over the weekend, so apologies to anyone wanting info before say 10pm Sunday night.

Hey Vic can you also send me a PM with details.

My best mate has just brought himself a MCS & i think he would be ineterested in doing this.

I'll be there as a handy spectator.
