Offline | Ping MiniF34k and maybe others can help :) Hey all, If you see this MiniFr34k I had to post to you because I couldn’t email or PM you from your profile and had a few questions to ask you about some mods you did to your Mini ![]() I was interested in your Mini because you are from Sydney and have done some modifications that I was looking to do, so I thought you could help me answer a few questions. 1. Did you get your Alta CIA over the net from the USA? (group buy?) 2. Where did you get your Milltek exhaust from? Locally or again overseas? If you don’t mind, how much did it cost? 3. Who did your colour coding done (Stow / PAS)? How is it wearing, any problems? This info would be great ![]() Thanks, Morespam. |

| fr34king n00b! | hey mate, ur the first to take any interest in my car lol i got a fan 1)the alta cai was $250usd shipped. 2) speak to iml337 about the miltek - but in hindsight i wouldnt bother wth that mate. go for something else, like a magna flow, or get oneball and some decent headers.. save urself the hassle and $$. 3) colour coding done at a smash repair shop in blacktown.. costed me $1000, but highly doubt u will get the same price.. (he didnt realise it took so much work haha ) , i can get u his number if u like. |

| fr34king n00b! | nothing wrong with miltek - only its too soft, id rather my exhaust louder and u could probably do alot mroe with that money. no chipping etc yet . fitment will depend on how good ur panel beater is. but it wont fit back on 100% the same coz of the added width etc (from the paint and prime) cheers |

Offline | There's plenty of good info in the Engine & Drivetrain forum if you're bold enough to use the search function to help research for more info. Starting here… http://www.mini2.com/forum/engine-drivetrain-tuning/98526-mini-exhaust-sound-clip-reference-thread.html http://www.mini2.com/forum/group-buys-mini2-special-offers/94705-group-buy-alta-cai-hose-200-a.html There's also some really good exhaust discussion on www.northamericanmotoring.com (NAM). ![]() Cheers Liam |

Offline | MiniGolf I have done plenty of searching thats why I was interested when Minifr34k mentioned that in hindsight he wouldn't have gone with it because all the other reports very positive. Thanks for the link though. Minifr43k Thanks for the info, one of the things that got me interested in the Miltek was the sound I didn't want something to loud.I found iml337 posts about the Miltek and I email'd him, I haven't heard anything back yet but he mentioned $1500 installed?? That sounds a bit weird he just supplies it right? Unless that is self installed... |

| fr34king n00b! | $1500 self installed.. and thats if u dont get hit with customs (liam did lol) i paid 50 bucks to get it installed.. but its an easy job something u can do yourself. if ur in syd we can meet up on a run and u can hear the miltek in person to see what u rekon .. for me its too soft.. so im hoping a good set of headers will make it louder. for some others its just right or too loud even? nfi its subjective if u ask me. If u want something soft.. get scorpion exhaust , sounds like stock - right evan? lol ![]() |
