Are the Recaro seats available in Australia, and do they have airbags? Any idea of price?

Mini Garage Kings Way has a black JCW with cobra stripes and Recaros at the moment which is a seriously good looking car.

I prefer the look of the JCW seats myself. Recaro make the standard seats in the MINI so I guess they were a bit annoyed when JCW chose the Sparco Milano as the basis for their seats.

Hey JME

They have a PW MCSC at Rolfe at the moment that has the Recaros fitted

Worth a look if your interested.

Are these the factory Recaro? I thought they looked like the ones in the MkIV Golf's.

They look more like the Recaros from the S series Audis, which are different to the Mk4 Golfs.

Sat in some last friday. They are supposed to be more day-to-day comfortable than the JCW seats and I was told they have the airbags in them .

They're certainly *much* better than the stock seats which are pretty lame IMO, the seats in our 2001 Outback provide greater comfort (not surprisingly) and all round support (surprisingly) than the MINI seats.

If the price of retrofitting seat heating alone is anything to go by (the Recaros include seat heating) then I'd imagine that it would be prohibitively expensive to retrofit the whole seat. IIRC, when I looked into retrofitting seat heating last year (not seriously, just out of interest), it cost almost $2000 US

I think you would probably be much better off taking your car to a car upholster and getting them to copy it
