Ah, great!! I knew you were 'the guy' to talk too!! Paul must have been relieved to hear that it would be a warranty job (his is only an '05 from memory). If my car starts doing strange things, I know who I am going to be asking about it It is always nice to turn up to a service centre and be able to 'advise them' on what you think the problem is and start the ball rolling.

The only problem is that most of the time they don't usually listen to the advice

Depends how you go about advising them If they think their 'authority' is being challenged or dismissed in any way, they will get narky. You can sometimes do it in a way that 'guides' them into saying what YOU actually think is wrong, but letting them feel like it is their idea

As soon as they feel like it is an "us vs. them" situation, you're stuffed!! It's based on the old "you attract more flies with honey, than vinegar" principle.

Sure, it won't work in all cases - there are just some that either like being bar5tards, or are practicing very hard to be one! That is when you refuse to deal with them, and find someone more reasonable. Life is too short to deal with miserable sods.

Holidays are easily arranged, just pick one from the clubMINI events calendar and register with me

Many thanks to everyone who attended our 1st Birthday bash.

Thanks to Stu for helping with drinks and onions and the fabulous Magazine, thanks to Steve for arranging all those amazing prizes and the judging with help from Robbo and another member whose name escapes me. Thanks to Avril who unwittingly volunteered to do the name tag thing, and what a great job she did too! And thanks to Helen for arranging the beautiful birthday cake

Its a pleasure to arrange these events for such nice people, wait until you see what we have in store next year with the Tasmania Tour and then the inaugral clubMINi Austrlaia MINI Muster!!!

We actually started out in the sun on the other side - then we realised we were going to end up crispy-fried and someone suggested we move to the shady side - doh!! Wish I'd thought of that earlier because the shade made an enormous difference.

As for doing the tags, it was my pleasure and it was a great way to get to meet and greet everyone and to put names to faces, even if I did manage to spell a name or two wrong (sorry Bryan )

Now, I don't remember getting to do a name tag for you though!! Or if I did, I am losing the plot LOL!!! (which is more than possible and I will just blame it on sunstroke - yeah, that's it, sunstroke )

Booked in for first service 4th April. I advised them of the engine mount and they said that they have not had a problem with them. They will look at the engine mount at the first service.

Ah, the old "have not had a problem with them" line!! You won't hear them say anything else. If they did say (for example) "oh, yeah, your the 5th one we've seen in 2 months" they would be in deep doodoo! It is the standard line used in the automotive industry, the computer industry, and, I suspect, many others too.

Hope they get it all sorted for you during the first service. At least now, if you have any trouble in the future, it can be traced back to being an issue well within the warranty period.
