clubMINI NSW/ACT 1st Birthday Party 26/3/06

As most, if not all clubMINI NSW/ACT members will know we are having our 1st Birthday bash at Bicentennial Park this Sunday 26 March, 2006.

This is going to be an enormous day with some amazing prizes on hand for the Show and Shine and other events. Prizes like remote control MINI's and MINI luggage pack from MINI Australia, OZICOZI car protection treatment and some surprise prizes will be on hand. The day is being sponsored by Trivett Classic MINI Garage, so we are expecting a huge day.

If you have not yet joined clubMINI, then please accept this invitation to join us on Sunday and see what its like to have up to 50 MINI's gather in one place and spend a few hours comparing cars, talking mods, and learning from others what how where and when.

You will find us in Bicentennial Park at the Field Studies Sail Shade. Follow the one way road through Bicetennial Park all the way to its end and turn right to the car park which will be full of MINI's. Arrive any time from 10am. We will be there until at least 2pm. Bring a picnic chair to sit on and your own lunch, there is a sauage sizzle happening. And don't forget your camera for the greatest collection of MINI's seen since the last greatest collection!

I'm crying in my pretzels 'cause I have to work on Sunday. I was there last year without a MINI.. Maybe I should send my MINI up without me!

Have a great day... I'm sure there'll be a pic or two!

Hey Vic,

I know it's a bit late, but is there any way we can organise for 'name tags' that could have our own name along with our MINI2.com name on it? It is so much easier to approach someone when you recognise their name and can say "so, you're _______". If not, I could probably find some sticky labels around here somewhere and bring them with me, along with a texta or two (will try to bring MINI colours).

Again, I apologise if I am speaking out of turn, or if you have this covered. Drop me a PM or email if you want to me organise something.

The last time a show and shine was organised at the 1st Minikana i anally cleaned up my mini with cotton buds in all the nook and crannies only to be advised that this wouldn't be judged till after we had gone out on the skid pan with all the wet and mud, (mud was in the middle of the track and most of us ate it) Needless to say everyones car was filthy and only clean minis in site was 2 spectators. When i heard that this wasn't being done till later in the day i jokingly said, " I hope u check the cars before we go out" but this didn't happen. So this time i don't think i will bother. Still clean enough after driving the invisible guests on Monday night.

I have been at a wedding all afternoon/evening, my 4wd with the name tags and texta is away having lots more goodies fitted to it for our Across Australia trip later this year, so if you can arrange some name tags and the time to sit down and greet everyone and write them out, that would be very helpful.

I just found some labels I have, and am doing a 'test run' on the inside of my clubMINI shirt, to make sure it won't do anything nasty to the material when you try to take it off!! So I will bring them along, with some markers, and I will try to find a suitable spot to write out the name tags. We are planning to be there by 10am, so keep fingers crossed!

Hi Ann

Agree, not much point polishing the MINI only to have it wasted on the skid pan, the following exert from the first MINIkhana info indicates that the show and shine was for clubMINi spectators only, but please be assured that tomorrow's show and shine will be a cracker with some great prizes, Steve Borg is organising the show and shine and i hear he is very particular.

Exert from MINIkhana April 05.

"Don’t forget there will also be a show and shine competition for clubMINI spectators. Meguiars Car Care Products are providing some great prizes for this aspect of the day also."
