Offline | You must come and see the difference. Its pretty good but by no means radical. I am going to stick it on the Dyno at the Mini Muster so we can asse what that says I guess. But there is Dyno's and there is Dyno's. Never 2 seems to be the same. If you are travelling in the same direction as your wheels are pointing- You aren't trying hard enough. |

Offline | We were on runflats for nearly three years and have only just replaced them because they wore out. Couldnt afford to do it any earlier (couldnt even really afford it now anyway!! I got pulled over in a breathalyser tonight on way home from work and lady cop noticed the rego sticker had expired. After a radio conversation she didnt fine me but made me let her in the passenger side so she could peel it off. She did comment though what a lovely car I had!! Now have to hassle husband to attach the new sticker!! |

Offline | Yeah i'll be at the Muster today with a few other Clubmini members. I am looking forward to see how my car goes on the dyno, although i don't thinkk i will be in the race after talking to the organiser of that comp. They are cramming all sorts of engines in the classic's these days. I am not sure how well they would be balanced for the twisty track bits but weiging in at around 600-700 kilo' the power to weight ratio is delicious. Very Lotus-like in fact. Yeah the $30,000 Mini musn't have an engine. Although I just went to build on on the Mini Australia site and the RRP is $31,100 for a Cooper. Maybe there is a special on at Motorline? | MINI2 Regular | I was at Motorline the other day getting my radiator fixed again! There were some second hand mini's there for $28,000, but most of the new minis were in the area of $45,000 plus. "Daisy" <-- 06 Just-a-cooper, Astro Black, Checkmate... with mods |

Offline | The changeover of tyres was going to happen, however a planned overseas trip has limited my funds somewhat. I figure the runflats have a fair bit of life left in them - the idea being that I have time to save up for the new tyres and the change the suspension at the same time (still undecided on springs or full coilovers..). The joys of adding / changing things on these cars... the list is seemingly endless ![]() |

Offline | Coilovers is the only way to go!! Get a good set and you can raise/lower the car and adjust the dampener on them and you can also get them with built in camber plates. Springs are just springs!! |

Offline | I was at the MINI Muster today and seen a yellow JCW that was nice and ow, just wondering what the ride is like when they are low and what the best option is to lower mine? Cheers When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane. |

Offline | The KW can be retro fitted but you need all the part No. etc. If you google KW website it will give you a link to the Australian dealer for them. Speak to a guy called Dragon, he should be able to help you out. I was going to retro fit mine but have decided to go a different path which should be alot better and easier to adjust. The KW's are excellent, their only fall down is the adjustability of the dampener is a ***** on the rears!! |

Offline | That was Quickbrick's car. He has H&R coilovers and 18" wheels. He cranked it down a bit for the muster. If you have 17"s and wind them down that low you scrape on everything. Coilovers are the best option to have an adjustable ride height. If you are travelling in the same direction as your wheels are pointing- You aren't trying hard enough. |

Offline | That sounds like my MINI you are referring to ![]() I did wind the coilovers down a bit for the show - for normal driving or track work I would usually have the rear a bit higher. At the height I have it now it will scrub a little in the rear if I hit a big bump in the road .... but it looks good I will probably wind it up a turn or two later in the week when I get a chance. The ride when they are lowered is fine - you just have to strike that balance between getting the car as low as possible without rubbing the rear tyres against the wheel arches. Depends on tyre size alot but since i'm running 18" wheels and 225 width tyres I can't drop the car too low. If you had narrower tyres you could probably get away with a lower ride height at the back. Which MINI were you in ThatsMe - maybe we chatted as I talked to a few MINI owners on the day. QuickBrick |

Offline | I only got there at about 10, and parked up beside some other newer MINI's near the Motorline marquee, then went for a walk around. I did see your MINI on the Dyno, How did it go? It does look very nice being low, i have a huge gap between the wheel arch and the tyre that i hate, at the moment i have the factory wheels, but when i need new tyres i will be putting a different set of wheels on and 18". My MINI is a R56 Astro black Cooper S with the JCW aero kit. When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane. |
